Happy First Day Of Spring!

It’s official, spring has sprung!  Not that I haven’t already been wearing the spring trends (as seen here and here) and I’ve already made some spring wardrobe must have updates (seen here) but that also means time to update the beauty routine.  So here are my beauty spring must haves for transitioning out of winter and saying HELLO SPRING!

1.  Faux That Glow!

Avon Skin So Soft Absolute Glow Gel

Avon Skin So Soft Absolute Glow Gel

Let’s start at the base.  Winter white legs don’t necessarily support flirty spring skirts.  So that means its time to bust out the self tanner and take the edge off.  I’ve definitely tried more than my share over the years but the gradual ones are the most fool proof.  I start with a good exfoliation, like with the mark. Just Buffing.  Followed up with a body butter like the mark. Whipped Up Body Butter.  This helps with creating a uniform application, preventing patchy staining on dry parts.  Then for applying the self tanner I just use my hands (no gloves/etc) and start from the bottom up which avoids extra staining on my arms (which happens when you start at the top).  So legs first, body then arms.  Give it a little time to dry before dressing and you’re good to go!

2.  Whip It Real Good!

I love layering in a sweeter fragrance for spring.  With all the blooms, fresh air and fresh cut grass I feel like I need a new fresh fragrance too!  So I switch up my bath and body products to more floral and sweeter scents.  The newest scent to the bath and body line up is the Mango Nectar, a bright and sweet sent.  Super moisturizing and smells fantastic so I can elect to skip perfume during the day.  Also, the added benefit to using a body butter before applying self tanner, like the mark. Whipped Up Body Butter, is it helps mask the self tanner smell, so you smell yummy not yucky!  You can get the mark. Whipped Up Body Butter for $10 at http://www.youravon.com/aliciahessinger

3.  Blurred lines!

Avon Skin So Soft Satin Glow Illuminating Moisturizer

Avon Skin So Soft Satin Glow Illuminating Moisturizer

This is a quick fix to blur the lines, or blur the imperfections.  This illuminating moisturizer has a slight beige tint and highlighting particles that on winter skin instantly gives a little spring glow.  I used to get the Smashbox version at a much heftier price tag, so when I saw this Avon version I snatched it up.  Its great on legs arms and chest plus it has a fresh slightly floral scent perfect for spring!  You can get the Avon Skin So Soft Satin Glow Illuminating Moisturizer for $6 at http://www.youravon.com/aliciahessinger.

4.  New Spring Shade!
