Mani Monday: Essie Fall 2019

Mani Monday: Essie Fall 2019

Mani Monday: Essie Fall 2019

It’s officially sweater weather with six limited edition nail polishes from Essie with the fall 2019 collection.  “It’s time to get back to your roots and explore the home grown countryside with the essie fall 2019 collection of six autumn nail polish shades. As the leaves begin to fall and the outside air becomes crisp – it’s official, it’s sweater weather. These limited edition nail polish shades are guaranteed to leave you on the bright cider.”

Essie Fall 2019 Collection

Essie Fall 2019 Collection

Essie is one of my favorite nail brands partly because they do really good seasonal collections.  They build a color story that really represents a feeling, trend, season!  Because of that I decided to google the fall collection 2019 and I barely found any IRL’s, swatches, etc and I was a little shocked.  The ones I did find convinced me to head over to CVS and see what they had.  I intended only to pick up one shade but after seeing the colors, the theme, the names I couldn’t leave without at least 3.

My top picks: Hay There, Sweater Weather, On The Bright Cider

My top picks: Hay There, Sweater Weather, On The Bright Cider

The top 3 I picked were 3 colors I definiltey did not already have in my collection.  Hay There, a fall yellow, caught my eye first.  Its a perfect color to transition with.  On The Bright Cider, the color of apple cider, became a must-have for my Apple Hill fall outings.  Sweater Weather, a metallic green, which is the most out of my norm.  It was also the last bottle in this color at the store and from the reviews I read it was the one that everyone liked best so I grabbed it too.

With those names how can you not pick up one... or three!?

These 3 shades were my September mani colors.  Usually I stick to my pinks, berries, reds but I’m glad I got something out of my comfort zone.  Sweater Weather got the most compliments from strangers haha.  Its kinda alien, kinda fall, kinda shimmery.  I see Sweater Weather being a really fun color for Halloween too!  These 3, well the whole collection really, go so well with the fall trends… menswear, 70’s vibe, plaids, neutrals, marigold, denim… Now the question is do I need the other 3 shades from this collection!?  I really like the other three for all my other fall activities, visit to the pumpkin patch, friendsgiving, regular Thanksgiving, etc.  I think I just answered my own question 😉

Summer Mani Pedi Combos for August

It’s mani Monday and I have bare nails. And I’ve had bare nails for like 2 weeks or so! I’m ready to feel human again and lacquer these puppies up but what color should I choose!? I’ve picked up a few new shades in addition to put tother a few of-the-moment, perfect-for summer-in-August, mani/pedi combos:

Nuditude and Teal Me About It

Nuditude and Teal Me About It

I just picked up Teal Me About It and I’m dying to use it.  I saw Essie make this pairing with similar shades and I’ve been thinking about it ever since!

Parfait Pink and Creme Brûlée

Parfait Pink and Creme Brûlée

A bright pink is my go to for summer, it always wears well and paired with an on-trend white shade on the toes its a no-fail pairing.  (see Creme Brûlée on here)

Sterling and Roses are Red

A collab that will look great through Labor Day!

Sapphired Up and Orange You Crazy

Sapphired Up and Orange You Crazy

This pairing has those Nautical vibes I’ll be loving come Labor Day for Week O’Nautical.  Sapphired up is also one of my all time favorites (see here).

Terracotta and Limoncello

Terracotta and Limoncello

This duo will look stunning with all the leopard and animal print that’s SO IN right now.  Don’t be scared of that Terracotta shade, its actually really wearable and pretty, not blah and brown.

As you can tell these pairing are all in my favorite formula, the Avon Gel Finish Nail Enamel.  It is hands down my favorite formula and paired with the Gel Finish Top Coat it literally looks as good as a classic gel mani, and lasts really long.  Right now you can get any 2 polishes/top coat for 2 for $11.  An even better deal, you can get the Gel Finish Top Coat with select shades for only $10!  Shop Gel Finish polish and the deals online here.  Now the bigger question is what color should I pick to do my mani/pedi!?!  Leave a comment on your pick for me 🙂

My wedding set is currently at the jewelers being repaired so I was in the need of a fill in, and what’s better than a design fit for a Duchess!  Random Snapple fact, Duchess is my favorite royalty title, shout out to Krista in 10th grade for winning that title at Snow Ball 😉  Anyways… This Sterling Silver CZ Triplet Ring was inspired by that Meghan Markle Sparkle so for this week, its my place holder.

Obiv my sterling silver version is a little different as hers is a gold band, and CZ’s instead of her  beautiful, and I’m sure flawless, diamonds, but at $34.99 I ain’t mad at it.  It gives a lot of sparkle, a lot of Meghan Markle Sparkle!  This weeks mani also #nailedit with the Avon Gel Finish Nail Polish in Mint To Be.

Avon Gel Finish Nail Polish in Mint To Be

Avon Gel Finish Nail Polish in Mint To Be

I’m REALLY loving this pastel polish shade.  I def feel it pulls more robin’s egg blue than mint but its a great spring shade and pairs really well with all the blues I’ve been wearing lately.  I’ve also been a little obsessed with all things engagement/wedding, like getting an album done from mine, and getting those dumb disposable cameras finally taken care of, and then one of my fav you tubers shared her engagement which made me have all the feels, and a friend is engaged, and I’ve been binging Married At First Sight… I guess its just that spring fever!

Avon Gel Finish Polish in Mint To Be and Topcoat

You can shop my favorite polish, these Gel Finish polishes online at http://www.youravon.com/aliciahessinger and be sure to get your own Meghan Markle Sparkle to go along with it!  You know I’ve been loving these fine jewelry releases from Avon this past year and this one takes the cake, the wedding cake!  Plus, it would be cute to wear these two (ring & polish) if you’re doing the circuit of showers, weddings, events and parties or even Easter!

Man Of The Woods Mani

Man Of The Woods Mani

About last night… screw the Oscars, I was at Justin Timberlake’s Man Of The Woods Tour! In pure JT form, the show was nothing short of show stopper.  I really dig how themed out this MOTW release is, from his marketing images, to his logo (LOVE the logo!), to the tour set and beyond.  We all know I love a good theme.  I was inspired to do a little Man Of The Woods Mani for his Sacramento show, which is today’s Mani Monday.

Mixed mani with deep charcoal, muddy gray shades from Julep, and a beige and orange from OPI with a little nail art on my middle as an ode to the album cover.   I’m definitely digging it.

JT on a Sunday Funday definitely makes a Monday a little bit better, well, besides the late night and sore feet 😉  To recap those JT feels I took the setlist and made a little Spotify playlist and phone highlights on repeat!

New Year New Mani

New Year New Mani!

New Year New Mani!

Happy New Year!  I hope 2019 is off to a spectacular… or sparkling start!

Matte Sparkle for the New Year

Matte Sparkle for the New Year

My New Years Eve mani has become my new year mani. While going through my nail polish stash I found these super sparkly polishes from Julep, which are actually a matte.  Making this mani something a little different and with all the glitter I was already wearing, matte seemed a good way to go.

New Year New Flowers ;)

New Year New Flowers 😉

These also look WAY better in person! I couldn’t capture the sparkle, so take my word for it.  I was kinda hesitant to give up wearing red on my nails but this purple polish is making it easy to transition to the new year.  Plus, first post always has to be a new mani post right!?

Nailed It: Jamberry Night Sky

20180302_172151.jpg

Mani Monday and I finally feel human again. I had bare nails for weeks, so finally getting a pedi and busting out a Jamberry wrap on the mani, all is right in the world once again!

I felt like doing nail wraps and these Night Sky wraps were calling my name! Sparkly mixed mani in cool icy tones, sign me up!

We have been having a cold spell in Nor Cal so these icy tones are oh so needed. And so is this scarf that’s my back drop. Its actually the signature print from the mark. Rebel Ice collection. Fun fact: If you bought the bath and body line its the print on the packaging!

I also just got these sterling silver rings in from Avon, and thought the complimented the wraps so well! Yes, Avon does have a line of fine jewelry, yes these rings are new and available, yes they include genuine stones, and yes you need them! The fine jewelry also starts at a size 5! I am wearing the Classic Peak Band (sale price $16.99) stacked with the Blue Topaz with Cluster Halo ring (sale price $34.99).

You can shop my rings and check out Avon’s fine jewelry new arrivals at my eBoutique. Message me if your interested in Jamberry nail wraps! I’m always looking for someone to go halfsies 😉

Buffalo Plaid, Feathers and Red Lips!

Buffalo Plaid, Feathers, and Red Lips

Buffalo Plaid, Feathers, and Red Lips

Only 6 days until Christmas, and another festive mani Monday down!  I’m feeling the festive spirit with finding a way to bring a little red, green and glam to my everyday.  Today’s festive is a buffalo plaid mixed mani, feather necklace and a classic red lip!

Julep and Jamberry

Julep and Jamberry

For my buffalo plaid mixed mani I started with Friday Flannel nail wrap from Jamberry on my ring.  I then used Julep polishes to do my black and gold nails.  Once it dried I drew the line down the side of my ring and middle with that same gold and then cleaned up around the nail.  This really matched a lot of my festive red and green outfits I’ve been wearing lately, like this feather and red lip look!

The mark. So Fly Necklace with its black feather, hematite metal and gemstone details is a really fun piece for the holidays.  I paired mine over this off the shoulder sweater (WHBM) and a black and white wool plaid skirt (Nordstroms).

Smile, You’re Gorgeous!  It may be a Monday, but if anything can bring me a smile on a Monday, it’s a good mani.  Now that spring is here, I’m loving a great creme finish mani in a simple spring shade.  Avon Gel Finish in Moondust is that perfect early spring shade.

Moodust is a light grey but it has enough white in it to almost be considered a pastel.  Regardless, it will match your all your spring pastels shades.  I’ve commented before how much I LOVE this Gel Finish formula.  It’s so spot on glossy, goes on smooth and self levels like a champ!  Finish it with the Avon Gel Finish Top Coat!  You know what else goes great with a mani?  A new statement ring, like this ring set from mark. the Quite A Pair Ring Set is only $22 for the pair!

Week O’Nautical – Mermaid Mani

Week O'Nautical: Mermaid Mani

Week O’Nautical: Mermaid Mani

Week O’Nautical returns with Mani Monday!  Because the 4th of July falls on a Monday we get two mani Monday’s out of Week O’Nautical this year.  So, for this one, I decided to break away from the usual red white and blue and go mermaid nautical with these mermaid nails!

mark. Nailed It Maui Bliss Mini Gel Polish Duo

mark. Nailed It Maui Bliss Mini Gel Polish Duo

I started with the Avon Ridge Filling Basecoat.  A little trick is to use this ridge filling base coat not only to fill ridges on natural nails but to get white polish to apply better.  I also found having a thicker base coat like this works really well when applying jams (aka Jamberry Nail Wrap).  It helps protect your nails, create an even surface for application so they apply better and last longer, and it helps make removing jams much easier.

Jamberry Wrap in Mermaid Tales

Jamberry Wrap in Mermaid Tales

For this mermaid mani used the mark. Nailed It Maui Bliss mini gel lacquer duo.  I used the white (Cloud 9) on my pointer and pinkie, and the purple (Hula) on my thumb and middle.  On my ring I used Jamberry Nail Wrap in Mermaid Tales.  I then used the scraps to create an angled accent piece over my pointer.  I finished everything off with the Avon Gel Finish top coat, which is seriously a game changer in my life!

Mermaid Mani for Nautical Looks

Mermaid Mani for Nautical Looks

I’m definitely feeling like a nautical goddess with my mega pretty mermaid mani!  It was so hard to capture how stunning this mani is in real life with my crappy phone camera.  I was too lazy to use my real camera so you’re going to have to take my word on it.  The purple and teal in the metallic finish in Mermaid Tales looks so perfect with the mark. Nailed It Maui Bliss duo.  I’m such a fan of these new gel polishes they last so long and look so smooth. You can shop the mark. Nailed It Duo here and the Mermaid Tales wrap here.
