If the world of alicia was the internet #urbansafari would totally be trending. Mix a little safari, with a little bit modern, a touch of tropical, and a tinge of uptown and you get yourself some #urbansafari. Here’s what’s been inspiring me for the urban safari trend.
If the world of alicia was the internet #tropical would totally be trending. Do you notice a theme here… #pineapple, #maui, #tropical… I definitely like to take it tropical in the summer and this year there’s been a ton of awesome products to inspire. Here’s what’s in inspiring me this Tuesday:
If that’s not enough inspo for your Tuesday you can check out my pinterest board for more! Some of the items are available at http://www.youravon.com/aliciahessinger and be sure to take advantage of the Avon Multi-Way Sarong offer with promo code MULTI. (see IRL pics here). Maybe it’s because I don’t get too many tropical vacations, but adding a few tropical items, scents and accessories definitely makes the summer a bit better. What tropical items do you add into your life or do you just take a tropical vaca? What are your favorite tropical locations to visit or dream about!? I might need to plan a vacation!
If The world of alicia was the internet then #lbd would be trending! The power of a Little Black Dress comes from it’s versatile sophistication. Avon recently modernized and re-released one of it’s most popular fragrances, Little Black Dress. Inspired but the iconic fashion piece, the fragrance inspired me. For the next two weeks I’ll be featuring all things LBD. To get us started here’s what’s inspiring me:
Avon Little Black Dress Fragrance: I’m not only loving the eye candy that is the campaign for this, but I’m also loving the scent itself. It’s a little sophisticated and versatile for day or night just like a LBD is. Avon Little Black Dress fragrance is also on promo right now for it’s introduction. Get the perfume, lotion and shower gel all for $25!
“Our muse for this fragrance was the iconic Little Black Dress, a universal symbol of sophistication that never goes out of style, reflecting the beautiful silhouette of a woman… her neckline, waistline, and hemline.”
— Rodrigo Flores-Roux, Master Perfumer and Little Black Dress Co-Creator
Avon Signature Collection: Along with the fragrance Avon introduced its Signature collection to go with it. The pops of lemon bring out such a spring feeling. I’m inspired to pair yellows with my LBD for a fresh chic take on a LBD. And you can get this Avon Signature dress with the cutouts on my eboutique right now, it’s adorable!
LBD’s Of The Past: If you look at my closet 60% of it is easily black, and I’m not mad at it. I have some great LBD’s in there that are just perfect for spring. I tend to wear them more in the fall but I think I need to pull these puppies out and accessorize for spring!
Pinspiration: I’ve pinned a lot more of my pinspiration over on my little black dress board. (Go check it out here). I’m excited to share some great LBD looks from some friends this week on the blog that I KNOW will end up on the board as well!
What inspires you with the thoughts of a little black dress?
Hello December! You’re the last so you have to be the best! December I feel is the quickest month with the countdown to Christmas and all you have to get done, but before it’s here and gone here’s what’s inspiring me to make the most of the month:
1. Holiday Plaid
With each new month I usually have a new color scheme I’m obsessed with… this December it’s holiday plaid. Red, black, green, white in a tartan is noting but pure holiday. This year I’m wearing it, decorating with it and theming out my December in it!
2. The Nutcracker
Since I moved to California attending the Nutcracker has been a holiday tradition and it’s the one thing I know with out fail I get to dress up for. So bring on the sequins, shimmer and glam!
If there was ever a time to sparkle it’s December! I know sparkle was a November inspo but it shimmies it’s way into December even more.
4. Wear to Work Holiday Wear
From here on out I pretty much try to wear holiday wear to work until we leave for break. For me this means a combinations of reds, greens, whites, golds and blues for festive holiday looks at work!
For more holiday inspiration check out my pinterest board Home For The Holidays! What is inspiring you this december? Also today is the LAST DAY to take advantage of the Avon and mark. Cyber Monday deal… get 20% off with a $40 order and get a FREE TOTE filled with goodies with a $65 order! Shop now at http://www.youravon.com/aliciahessinger
I get it, I probably shouldn’t post this the last days of October but this year we hosted our annual take on an Oktoberfest. Here’s a bit of inspiration for next year… or have one in November, that’s not out of the question either! Cheers!!!
If the world of alicia was the internet then #camel would totally be trending. This fall I’ve had a color crush on camel. I’m not much of a brown person but camel is like it’s creamy cousin that looks excellent against that end of summer tan and your classic blacks and blues. That’s why camel is totally trending in my world… if you couldn’t tell by my #1 camel pick, my camel colored bag that I’m OBSESSED with… and a few other camel inspirations…
A camel bag – My must have as of late, mark. Neutral Territory Bag. Big and structured so super effective!
A Camel Coat – A perfect camel topper for chilly days and classic like no other!
A camel hat – I’ve found my camel floppy hat to be a fall staple!
A camel sweater – as sweater weather creeps in, there’s just something a bit regal about a camel sweater, it can be trendy or classic. I was super inspired by Kelly Ripa today on Kelly and Michael in her thin gauge camel sweater and leather skirt!
A comforting camel – Fall is the start of all things cozy. In the fall I always restock my triple wick candles and upgrade to fall scents in my bath and body and hand soaps. I love a scent with a comforting caramel undertone. Not quite a camel color but more a fall inspiration for my camel crush!
BONUS! Today only (and how fitting!) at my eBoutique with a $50 purchase get a FREE Triple Wick Autumn candle and with a $75 order ALSO get a Whipped Pumpkin, so 2 FREE triple wick candles. Just in time help get you inspired to trend some camel for the fall season! AND check back all week at my eBoutique for a unique bonus offer! However this FREE candle deal is the cats meow!
Everyone and their mother has a list of must-haves, wardrobe staples, etc, etc… but there are actually are a few things that pop up on all those lists every time for a reason! One of those is an anorak jacket. Not only is it functional, but it’s also super on trend and also a classic. (is that an oxymoron?) I own safari type jackets that are similar but not a true anorak. Then mark. came out with this Luck Of The Drawstring Anorak and I was smitten. But do I really need another jacket? I really don’t like army green, is this really a must-have? Well, after seeing a billion awesome looks on pinterest and reading a million different must-haves, wardrobe staples, etc, etc lists I decided yes I need another jacket! So glad I did because even if it’s not my ideal color this is my ideal jacket! Honestly, you never really have buyers remorse on a jacket, it will last you years and you can wear it every day if you really want to.
The mark. Luck Of The Drawstring Anorak is a true anorak style. It has a longer length, multiple pockets and a hood. What sets this one apart is it’s ruching details on the sleeves and the ability to cinch it at the waist. The material is a nice weight, canvas like cotton so not only will it look chic on but it will withstand the elements.
Let’s call it like it is, this really isn’t an Alicia jacket. I’m not really casual and as stated I’m not a huge fan of army green. But you know what is very Alicia? Pairing it with a lace pencil skirt! Pairing 2 very different styles pays off, because how cute are these 2 together?! The mix of casual and dressy achieves a very wearable and approachable look. You could also recreate this look with some white crochet shorts for summer of even lace/crochet pants that are trendy right now. This just shows the versatility out of such a classic jacket.
It’s really worth it to break out of your comfort zone and try a style that you typically wouldn’t buy. Especially when it’s a style that’s a classic must-have for a reason! That’s why I really like trend brands like mark., you can try the style at an affordable price (especially when there’s a coupon! like AVONFB20 for 20% off at http://www.youravon.com/aliciahessinger).
I’m not going to lie, a little bit of what sold me on it is all the cool girls have one. You might recognize it from Jill in our last Spring Style Tips post on spring layers, but she also paired it with jeans and navy and white striped shirt for the perfect casual outfit, see more here. I was not only inspired by cool girl Jill’s cute styling of this jacket but also all those cool girls on pinterest. Here’s a few reasons why this jacket pops up on every must-have list:
The style options are endless, just check out pinterest to verify! I guess that’s why this jacket is on all those lists, it’s really a must-have for Spring (and summer, and fall, and winter). You can shop the mark. Luck Of The Drawstring at my eBoutique and use promo code AVONFB20 for 20% off. That makes the jacket ONLY $48 for a really nice quality spring jacket. You won’t be sorry, believe me!
PS: Want the deets on my look minus the jacket? Check back next week for the next installment of Spring Style Tips: Spring Colors!
If the world of alicia was the internet #softshades would be trending! I’m completely, utterly, most definitely obsessing over all things neutral and soft. And I don’t think I’m the only one because they are ALL OVER the place! I think, in this weird, not-quite-spring but not-quite-winter season (except back East muhahaha) we’ll lean toward a fresh clean pallet but still need to be a bit layered and bundled. This is where soft shades of whites, grays, blues, blushes, etc stand out as go-to’s for late February in a monochromatic fashion.
I could get lost in Pinterest with all the soft shade pinspiration but a few standouts have made the board. Check out my soft shades board here for more inspiration. Here’s what’s been inspiring me lately:
Soft shades were also HUGE at the Oscar’s! My favorites were Zoe, Lupita, Reese, with my top dress of the night going to Jennifer Aniston!
Oscar Dresses in Soft Shades
What I love about these tones are that they pair perfectly with your basics like black, navy and gray. All you need are a few items to mix in with what you already have. I picked up this peach/blush Tuck Stitch Cover Up from Express and it’s been in heavy rotation with everything from my mint jeans to my black dress pants! My other must-have pick is the mark. Sheer Brilliance Sweatshirt (see here as my pick for February). The addition of these two tops in soft shades opened up my wardrobe for a pinterest worthy soft shade love fest! Here’s a peek how #softshades have been trending in my world.
All week I’ll be highlighting my soft shades (including the ones mentioned above), so be sure to check out my upcoming posts! Have you been sporting soft shades this month? What pins have been inspiring you?
