Lip Of The Week: mark. Lipclick Matte in Vixen

Obiv I’ve personally been on a matte lipstick kick… as seen here and here.  The matte lip has been here for a hot minute and isn’t going anywhere so might as well join the party.  One of my FAVORITE formulas is the mark. Lipclick Matte.  It’s a little more luxurious than the Avon ones I’ve been swooning over, however it’s only available in 3 shades.  Pretty much your must have of shades, a red, a bright pink and this deep purple, Vixen.

We’ve had a change in weather here, grey dark rainy and in the low 60’s so a deep purple lipstick seems appropriate.  Plus it also looks really chic with spring pastels too!  Plus it’s the shade Lucy Hale has been wearing for like the last 6 months on all her press junkets.

Word On Vixen:  Get this shade.  The formula is moisturizing not drying.  The vampy shade isn’t so vampy it’s unwearable, it’s a good deep plum shade that will work with most skin tones.  The cap design is awesome with a magnetic closure, a click closure if you will!  And for only $11 it’s still cheaper than a lot of designer brands with designer brand quality.  You can shop Vixen at http://www.youravon.com/aliciahessinger AND get FREE shipping!

Spring Style: mark. Go With The Floral Kimono

Florals for spring, groundbreaking. But there’s a reason florals in the spring just feel oh so right. Introducing a little floral punch automatically makes it feel a little more bright and fresh. In stead of your typical pastels I’m adding a dark floral kimono to my wardrobe for spring with the mark. Go With The Floral Kimono.

Dark Florals For Transitioning Into Spring

Dark Florals For Transitioning Into Spring

What I like about this piece is it is a statement on it’s own, it’s super versatile, nice quality, and a perfect transition piece. I struggle to find cute and casual wear but this piece is it!  How cute is it paired with a simple tank, dark denim and wine booties!?  But I easily seeing this paired with white denim or shorts come warmer weather, and over a maxi dress for a more boho vibe!

With a bold statement print like this you don’t need much to accessorize this look.  Just my go-to bag as of late the mark. Carry All Handbag and my Go For Baroque Ring and Earrings in the same tones!  Complete the look with a plum lip, I’m wearing the new Avon Perfectly Matte Lipstick in Hot Plum!  If you’re wearing purples this is such a hot shade right now!

Styling for the transiting seasons doesn’t have to be difficult.  Just find one spring worthy piece and add it to what you’ve already been wearing on the daily.  For instance I’m still wearing my dark colors (black, wine, etc) but this pop of spring definitely makes this the perfect transitional piece!

5 Ways To Wear An Infinity Scarf from Day To Night

1 Infinity Scarf Worn 5 Ways

1 Infinity Scarf Worn 5 Ways

Happy first day of fall!  Even though I’m forever a summer child, I’m officially now ok with busting out a scarf (over a tank), lighting a pumpkin candle (like the current favorite Pumpkin Pecan Waffles from B&BW) and stepping into some booties (preferably peep-toed).  Fall adds a layer of cozy to your life as the days get shorter and cooler.  The best way to combat that is with a scarf.  I’m currently LOVING the mark. All Around Style Scarf ($18 on sale for only $10 with a qualifying purchase at http://www.youravon.com/aliciahessinger).  It’s the perfect balance of fun and fall, and super versatile for changing weather and functions.  Here are 5 different ways to style your infinity scarf using the mark. All Around Style Scarf.

1.  SHRUG

Infinity Scarf As A Shrug

Infinity Scarf As A Shrug

As you start your day it can be pretty chilly in the mornings so start it off by wearing your infinity scarf as a shrug.  Just open it up so its the full circle the slip it around your shoulders.  Done.

2.  One Shoulder

As the morning starts to warm up switch it from a shrug to a one shoulder cover up.  Wrap it around your neck twice then pull to one side, fluff and tuck as need be.

3.  The OG

The OG way (original gangsta for the urban impaired) is my favorite way.  Simple, to the point, keeps the chill off and shows off the full pattern of the scarf.  It’s perfect for the mid day.

4.  Halter Top

The day has warmed up and its time to head out to happy hour which means time to step up the outfit!  Take the scarf fully open and let it hang from your neck.  Next twist it once so they sides cross over each other.  Take the open loop and flip it around your head and shoulders and put your arms through the loops created.  Adjust it to your liking.  I personally opened it up more around the chest and tucked the “straps” to keep them slim.

5.  Kimono-Like

As the night cool creeps in and you start to get a little chilly transition your infinity scarf to almost a reverse shrug for a kimono-like look.  All you do is open it to its full size wide in one giant loop and wrap around your shoulders.  It’s like wrapping yourself in your own scarf blanket!

First official mani Monday of September!  Typically this early in September I’m still wearing my summer brights but this year I’m embracing the fall trends early with deep smokey purples from the mark. For my nail look I wore the more smokey grey plume shade (Shady Lady) with an accent nail in the deep purple (Plumsation) on my ring.  These shades are more matte so I left them sans topcoat.

These shades are totally up my ally.  I loved them so much I’ve worn them twice already!  Which is kind of a big deal since it’s still summer and super hot here causing me to typically be wearing my summer brights through October.  Plus they wear really well.

I’m a HUGE fan of the mark. Nail This Look Set’s (see here and here).  mark. coordinates the perfect little companion to your mani.  For under $30 you get TWO perfectly on trend shades and an accessory that will take you through the season.  Plus they’re just the right amount to use this season and be done and ready for the next by next season.  I think its just the perfect little pairing and a great way to spend a little on a big trend that you’ll love!  You can shop the mark.
