SAVANNAH BLOOMS IN LA…

I never met a stripe I did not like so when I saw the Megan Tunic from Avon’s Spring Line I had to have it. When it comes to adding new pieces to my wardrobe I stick to what works for my lifestyle and shape. Tunics are essential for beach life especially in sunny blue stripes.

The slit sleeves makes this piece different for Spring 2018. I know I will appreciate the extra breeze come summer and the ruffle cuff is also a nice detail. Can you believe this tunic is only $29.99? That’s what I really love about AVON fashion, it does not break the bank. Adding one new piece can add a little pep to your Spring wardrobe and I believe this top is it for me.

Avon ‘s Southern Belle collection consists of a lot of fun pieces that mix and match. This is my favorite piece because it will be great for travel and for beachy adventures. I am definitely taking this to Hawaii when I see B in February and during Spring Break.

This past weekend I was able to spend some time with León. He is currently living with my sister in Vegas because I am traveling a lot and am also finalizing the Hawaii travel for him and Newman. The boys will be taking a red eye in March and then B will pick them up at the airport and we will be done with this saga!! Moving pets to Hawaii is NOT easy!
Anyway, I miss those guys! But I was grateful to spend the weekend with him and have some snuggles before he headed back to Sin City.

In 20 days I will be in Hawaii to visit B. I can not wait. It will be a whirlwind weekend but we have set these little markers to make the time we are a part go by faster.

Do you have any weekend getaways planned?

I’m wearing my skirt as if its dipped in gold!  First push all the sequins up so it’s teal, then brush down the bottom in an uneven pattern for a dipped in gold look.  Perfect for NYE or a holiday party!  I paired mine with a simple tank, white fur stole, (mark. Chill Factor Stole), glittery gold heels, and some shimmering jewelry!

Trending Tuesday – #whitehot

Ok ok so I know it’s a Wednesday but I figured what ev’s Trending Wednesday doesn’t have the same ring to it.  Anyways… if the world of Alicia was the internet #whitehot would totally be trending.  White is having a major moment but my problem is I don’t have many (barely any) good white pieces. Here’s a few #whitehot looks I’m loving and searching for.  So if you have some favorite #whitehot pieces, leave a comment and share!

On The Wishlist: mark. So White Now Necklace is the easiest way to wear white (without getting it dirty, which we all know is going to happen)

On The Hunt:  White jeans!  Please can someone find me white jeans that aren’t so tight they show the cellulite but not so big they don’t fit my 5′ frame.  And they need to be stretchy and lightweight to handle the hot Nor Cal weather.  UGH.  This is my unicorn.

LWD:  I have a few white dresses but none are exactly perfect (but these are close calls here here and here).  For the summer nothing is as effortlessly cool as a chill white dress.

Nailed It:  I guess for now what I can do is wear white nail polish.  This is instant gratification on my #whitehot fix.  Good thing I just got this new Julep polish in my May Maven Box that’s a creamy white (like the color of cream).

Graphic yet whimsical, polka dots are a perfect print for January.  You can wear them to the office or out to brunch or even in your decor.  Stick to small dots for more conservative environments larger dots for fun.

Materials:  Leather and Thick Knits

Leather and Knit

Thick chunky knits are always a must for warmth in January but layer them with the unexpected like leather or even with some polka dots!  Not really into leather pants, try a legging alternative like the mark Chic It Out pant (last seen here and now on clearance).  Also stick to leather (or faux leather) bag and boots, they will give a layer of depth and dependability!

This month I’ll be styling these trends and using my must haves for January to do it!  I guess saying hello to January isn’t so bad.  What trends are you loving for January?

12 Mani’s of Christmas

So many Christmas nail ideas, so little time! Only a week until Christmas, so even if I do a new nail look everyday I still couldn’t fit in thislist! Lucky for me some of these work great for New Year’s and beyond!  In no particular order, let’s count them down… 12 drummers drumming…err…

12.  Classic bright red.

mark. Nailed It Duo in Firestarter and Hot Coal

mark. Nailed It Duo in Firestarter and Hot Coal

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.  Sometimes perfect bright classic red is all your nails need.  The perfect red for me this year is the mark. Nailed It Duo in Firestarter.  Creamy, bright and pure holiday excellence.  See it on here.

11.  Avon Nail Art Design French Tips

Avon Nail Art Design French Tips

Avon Nail Art Design French Tips

For my holiday party this weekend I’ll be wearing these Avon Nail Art Design French Tips in Let It Snow and using them again in Tartan for Christmas Eve!  All you do is use your favorite shade as your base.  Then apply the nail art strip after it’s dried.  Place it higher on the nail if you want a typical french tip look or lower to show just a little for a half moon mani look.  Could even just use these just as an accent nail.  Either way they’re fun and festive and a level of detailed design I could never do on own!  Aaaaand they’ve been marked down to $2.99 so take advantage of that free 2-day shipping and get these NOW!  (http://www.youravon.com/aliciahessinger)

10.  Nude with gold tips.

Nude with Skinny Gold Tips

Nude with Skinny Gold Tips

This is just too pretty!  To recreate the look go with a nude that’s a little more on the pink side and make your gold french tips super slim.  Try Essie Penny Talk for the tips!

9.  DIY Buffalo Plaid

Easy enough to recreate after seeing the tutorial over at http://petitepeinture.com/julep-holiday-tartan-tutorial  Obviously I’ve been having a plaid moment this fall/winter!

8.  Jackie from Living After Midnight’s Snowman Mani

My Wear and Share partner in crime, Jackie over at Living After Midnight, showed us her KILLER snowman mani.  Not only is this guy super festive, it’s great in snowy January as well!  I’m LOVING it paired with her striped top and emerald jewels too!

7.  Green and gold.

Go to the other end of the Christmas color spectrum with a deep green polish topped with some gold glitter.  Try Essie Stylenomics with Essie LuxeEffects in Rock At The Top.

6.  Snowy White

Glistening Snowy Nails with Avon Iceberg White and Essie LuxeEffects in Shine Of The Times (with and w/o flash)

Our friends over at Sealaura already showed us how chic an all white mani can be, but let’s step it up a notch with a snowy white look!  Top Avon’s Gel Finish in Iceberg White with Essie LuxeEffects in Shine Of The Times for a glistening snowy white look… and maybe if you want, do a red accent nail like I did!

5.  Santa Nail Art!

Santa Nail Art

Santa Nail Art

This one looks easy enough to recreate!  Basically do a red nail with white french tip.  Where they meet draw a thin line in silver.  (Try using an old liquid eyeliner brush to get a super thin line!)  To do your Santa accent nail start by doing the beard first.  Let that dry, then do the red santa hat by just making a thick line.  After that dries, make small dots in a row for the top of the hat.  Dot on black eyes (try using a toothpick) and the nose and you’re done!  Seal it all with a topcoat!

4.  Blue Christmas – Avon Gel Finish Winter 2014 Shades

Avon Gel Finish in Iceberg White, Alaska and Inked Up (L to R)

Avon Gel Finish in Iceberg White, Alaska and Inked Up (L to R)

For your non-typical holiday mani I’m loving these shades from Avon.  You already know I’ve been digging Iceberg White, but Inked Out and Alaska (now only $4.99!) are also perfect wintery shades.  Blue for the holidays has become a favorite and not just for Hanukkah!  If you want to make it a little more festive, top it with a silver glitter topcoat.

3.  Gold Stripes with Julep December Box:  Classic With A Twist

Julep Maven December Box - Classic With A Twist

Julep Maven December Box – Classic With A Twist

Julep always has the perfectly paired offering with their monthly box selections.  For December I went with the Classic With A Twist selection featuring Sienna and Ilga from the Count It Down collection.  I also added on the striping tape for a little holiday nail art.  This is the perfect set for the work week leading up to Christmas!

2. Presents

Presents!!!

Create cute little presents on your nails with some striping tape and a bow decal or just paint it on with two stripes and a bow!  Bonus points if you can do that awesome tree!

Now this might be for the advanced but it’s like a Christmas sweater for your nails!  How festive and cozy!

Sealaura – Avon Gel Mani:  Iceberg

avon iceberg gel polish

I have a pile of French and Spanish finals to start grading so naturally I decided to do my nails.  Most people are probably leaning towards dark colors in fact I just had Chanel’s Black Satin on a few days ago but I just love white nails.  Avon’s Iceberg Gel finish polish is my pick this week.

avon iceberg polish 2

I was super happy with the results.  I am not the best at applying nail polish and living here in the desert means I will probably get into some dirt or even more likely, the dogs will neeeeeeeeeeeed to go for a walk outside.  So anyway, I am not a perfectionist.
I am happy with the nice clean look of white nails even if my method is a little messy.
