The decorations are down, the weather is still frightful and there are no more holiday parties to prepare for, hello January. The good thing about January is it’s a fresh start. Time to introduce some new trends, freshen up your look and make smart purchases. I already shared my top picks for January here now lets style them with the top trends for January.
Colors: Icy Shades

Think shades of white, robin’s egg blue, mint, cobalt, greys, blush, blues, etc… These colors are still very wintery and will still mix in with your black and brown basics.

Pattern: Polka Dots

Graphic yet whimsical, polka dots are a perfect print for January. You can wear them to the office or out to brunch or even in your decor. Stick to small dots for more conservative environments larger dots for fun.

Materials: Leather and Thick Knits

Thick chunky knits are always a must for warmth in January but layer them with the unexpected like leather or even with some polka dots! Not really into leather pants, try a legging alternative like the mark Chic It Out pant (last seen here and now on clearance). Also stick to leather (or faux leather) bag and boots, they will give a layer of depth and dependability!

Accessory: A Good Mug

Nothing warms you up better than a hot drink be it tea, coffee, hot chocolate or even some soup! A pretty mug helps brighten your day and makes each sip a little more fun.

This month I’ll be styling these trends and using my must haves for January to do it! I guess saying hello to January isn’t so bad. What trends are you loving for January?
AWESOME post! and thanks so much for including me, I was so inspired and then pop my little hand. I am all about the icy colors, currently have white nails and you know the knits are much needed right now. I need to get my hair done and then I might be almost set. I LOVE the leather pants and might have to dig my pleather ones out. I basically wanted to eat this post. Happy New Year!!!
Thanks Sealaura! I’ve been crushing on your mani and knew it was going to be my first January nails recreate! Happy New Year to you too!
