Wear and Share Wednesday: Touch of Fall

Wear and Share Wednesday: A Touch of Fall

Wear and Share Wednesday: A Touch of Fall

Fact:  It’s still officially summer.  The first day of fall isn’t until Monday, and it’s still going to be 90 degrees this weekend so even if I want to embrace fall early, it’s really only a touch of fall.  I think I’m so tired of the same sundresses I’ve been wearing all summer so I’m ready for a wardrobe refresh, even if its just a touch.  I have done some great back to school shopping and picked up a bunch of fall 2019 trends, but I can’t quite wear them all yet, so I need to add in a touch of fall where I can.

A touch of fall with camel accessories!

A touch of fall with camel accessories!

I achieved a touch of fall with camel accessories!  This fall color is not only classic but neutral and really anchors my LWD.   I’ve known I wanted a camel tote as my fall bag since the spring but I haven’t been able to find one until last week!  I scored this clearance find at TJ Maxx and it was EXACTLY what I was looking for.

New fall bag of my dreams!

New fall bag of my dreams!

Lucky for me my camel and tortoise double ring belt from Express came in right at the same time and nothing is better than matching your belt to your bag.  This white dress is from my Express Style Trial box and belting it gave it just the touch of fall I was craving.  Plus this LWD is really well made, lined and the perfect quality for transitioning from summer to fall.

LWD gets the fall treatment!

LWD gets the fall treatment!

You know what also arrived at the same time as my belt and new bag purchase… my Avon order!  Which included this beautiful camel faux leather strap watch and this leaf bracelet that look amazing stacked together.  I had this bag/watch combo going in my dreams since I saw this watch in person at our conference 6 weeks ago!  These two are launching soon but as a rep I get them a few weeks early.

Obsessories!

Obsessories!

I’ve been obsessed with these white slides from Shoedazzle.  They actually have a camel sole so they work perfectly for this late summer look.  As we head more into fall and it drops down to the 70s 😉 I can switch out these slides for these snakeskin booties and I have an even deeper fall look. You can already see how I’m working in these booties and that animal print trend for late summer in my last post (see here).

Obsession + Accessories = Obsessories

Wear and Share Wednesday has a lot of new fall pieces I’m loving!  Pieces that are functional for the weather, and fashionable for the fall.  What are you wearing these last few days of summer!?

Leopard, and Snake and Zebra, OH MY!

Leopard, and Snake and Zebra, OH MY!

Leopard, and Snake and Zebra, OH MY!

Just in case you’ve been living under a rock, animal prints are a huge trend right now. They were hot in the summer and even hotter for fall. You’ll see some sort of version at pretty much every retailer. The thing with animal prints, they’re kinda are always in, just how you wear them fluctuates. Which means now is a great time to get some pieces that will be super trendy now but also last in your wardrobe for years to come. Here are a few suggestions on how to shop and wear the trend:

Leopard Print

Leopard Print

Leopard: A leopard piece is the way to go If you don’t really think yourself as trendy but you like the trends.  Or, if you’re someone who hates the trend when they first come out, but then end up liking it once you see it all over (guilty!).  Leopard works really well for fall because its already set in fall colors with the browns, taupes, blacks and creams.  I suggest finding a leopard blouse in a soft flowy material.  You can dress up a pair of jeans or wear it with some white shorts for a late summer look.   Come actual fall pair with a boyfriend cardigan or with your fav moto/leather/jean jacket for a cool girl appeal.  A leopard blouse always works well for workwear too.  Be trendy by pairing it with a tie waist cropped pant in blush.  Once this of the moment trend dies down a leopard blouse will still work well in your closet especially if you’re just pairing it with a black pant/skirt for work or a dark denim for casual wear.  If you want something a little more trendy the oversized leopard print cardigans are huge!  Nordstrom’s version sold out but the one on Amazon everyone is grabbing.  I also really like the black and cream/white leopard prints as a take that not everyone is wearing…

Snakeskin Trend

Snakeskin Trend

Snakeskin:  Now snakeskin is like the uber-trendy trend right now.  So if you want to be in, then snakeskin it is.  You’ll see snakeskin right now in everything… I mean everything!  From trench coats to shoes to bags to joggers… snakeskin everything!  But, because of this, you can find some really cool pieces, like a red snakeskin printed bodysuit I picked up from Express which is a total fun twist on the trend.  What I recommend shopping for though, is a pair of snakeskin boots!  These are something that will work in your wardrobe for years to come!  For you regular trendy people, get an ankle boot.  Wear it with white jeans and a white tank for a wear now look and then wear it with black jeans and a black tee come actual fall.  For you super trendy folks, get a pair of tall OTK snakeskin boots! Wear them with a t-shirt dress or a band graphic tee and shorts for a late summer look.  Come fall pair them with a sweater dress and a trench or the classic leggings/tee/jacket combo.  Even wear them with a pencil skirt for a wear to work look.  For the not-so-trendy shop for a pair of snakeskin flat mules or loafers.  Just a pop of snakeskin that keeps you on trend but not by too much and a style you can wear to work to running errands to casual outings.

Snakeskin and Puppy Booties ;)

Snakeskin and Puppy Booties 😉

Zebra Print

Zebra Print

Zebra:  If you don’t want to be wearing the same trend as every girl on IG then zebra is the way to go.  Just as in as leopard/snakeskin but a little different, and a little harder to find so you’ll stand out in a different way.  If you want to be even more mega trendy, pattern mix it with other animal prints, I especially like it with a tiger print or giraffe print.  Right now shop for a slinky midi skirt in a zebra print.  The leopard version is all over the place, but a zebra print is a more unique alternative.  It’s really wearable and on trend with just a white tee and sneakers, but I would wear it with heels… you know me.  Come fall, throw on a denim jacket for weekend, a cardigan for work, or a leather jacket and black heels for a night out.  This Ann Taylor Zebra Print Skirt, it’s the perfect transitional piece plus it’s one you could wear 10 years ago and one you could wear in 10 more years.  With all these animal print pieces a nice fabric in a sophisticated style will allow you to get more wear out of the pieces for years to come.

Tee/Layered Necklaces - Avon; Skirt - Ann Taylor; Sandals - Marshall's

Tee/Layered Necklaces – Avon; Skirt – Ann Taylor; Sandals – Marshall’s

Fun fact about me, zebra’s are my favorite animal.  With that being said, I don’t really like a zebra print unless its done extremely tasteful.   That’s the trick to wearing animal print find it in luxe fabrics and fits that will read classy not trashy and then have fun with it with what you pair it with.  Now they become pieces that last beyond the trend!  What animal print pieces do you have your eye on?

PS:  I have a great neutral makeup look that works with all these looks, and transitions into the fall.  If you want to see more leave me a comment!

What To Wear In Late Summer

What To Wear In Late Summer

What To Wear In Late Summer

As much as I’ll “never let go” of summer, late summer is kinda nice.  The transitioning weather allows for a refresh on the looks.  Can work in new fall trends, colors and staples, all while still embracing the last bits of summer.

What I'm wearing for late summer.

Fall Trend:  Bell Sleeves.  Late Summer Wear Now: Cropped Sleeve in Light Flowy Fabric.

Bell Sleeves For Wear Now Wear Later

Statement sleeves are not only a hot summer trend but a cool fall one as well.  So what’s better than a blouse that works for both!?  This Lace Trim Bell Sleeve Blouse from Avon has a cropped sleeve making it perfect for transitioning weather and looks.  Choosing a fall trend in a lightweight fabric flowy fabric allows you more wear year round out of it.  Plus, the peep of lace at the top lightens it up too.

Fall Trend:  Out Of The Ordinary Baubles.  Late Summer Wear Now:  Gold Chain Details.

Avon Pink Hope Ribbon Power Necklace

Avon Pink Hope Ribbon Power Necklace and mark. Gleam With Pride Ring

A big trend in fall jewelry is out of the ordinary necklaces.  Your standard run of the mill statement necklace is not going to cut it, you need something legit.  “How ’bout some gold bracelets” or gold necklace if you will… thick gold chains and a unique pendant drop allow this necklace to stand out from the crowd.  Additionally, the bright gold is a perfect late summer metal, but this would look equally as chic worn with a simple black turtleneck or your favorite plaid top come fall.  The Avon Pink Hope Ribbon Power Necklace is part of the Breast Cancer Shop For The Greater Goods Shop at my eBoutique.  What makes it even more unique than it’s look, is that 20% of the proceeds go to support the Breast Cancer Crusade, which is in style year round!

By wearing brighter jewel tone now, like amethyst, vs a deep tone, like plum, allows you to keep your look more late summer.  I love this Lace Trim Bell Sleeve Blouse from Avon for the perfect wear now jewel toned shade.

Fall Staple:  Jeans.  Late Summer Wear Now:  White Jeans.

White Deconstructed Jeans for Late Summer

White Deconstructed Jeans for Late Summer

It was a brisk mid 80’s so I was able to wear pants… like the first time since May.  These destructed white jeans from mark. are finally seeing some wear!  White jeans are the perfect way to create a late summer look, they brighten up those fall trends and colors.  Come later in the season, pair this exact look with your dark denim and boots for a true fall look.

Pop in some suede during late summer.  I’m wearing a suede fringed sandal from Steve Madden, and switched to my fall bag, a leather tote with suede pieced in.  The sandals are from last year but the tote is the new Avon Leather and Suede Whipstitch Tote.

This is just one of those easy outfits for a lot of different occasions.  You can tweak it depending on what you got going on and as that true fall weather creeps in, but overall the perfect take on late summer.  You can shop my entire look at http://www.youravon.com/aliciahessinger.  Be sure to take advantage of the newest A Box for only $10 with a $40 purchase!  And yes, I probably should of ironed my shirt instead of just pulling it out of my suitcase after a week.  Life, man, life.

The Cold Shoulder

Off the shoulder tops were a huge trend this summer and the trend continues on for fall and winter!  The cold shoulder top is the fall version featuring shoulder cutouts.  I’ve always been a fan of this look and when mark. had thier version on a flash sale I scooped it up!  (SIDENOTE:  A new flash sale is hitting the eboutique on Halloween 10/31 so be sure to see what goodies are on additional 31% off!)

Fall Trends - Cut Out Shoulder and Button Front Mini Skirt

Fall Trends – Cut Out Shoulder, Button Front Mini Skirt, Ankle Boots and Choker.

Big trends for fall this year are cut out shoulders, ribbed fabric, button front mini skirts, ankle boots and chokers, all of which I’m wearing in this look.  I personally love each of these trends and even more so all paired together in the right way.  As the weather gets colder each of these can be adjusted like with jeans instead of a skirt, or with tights, tall boots and a leather jacket!

Wear And Share Wednesday: My Most Asked About Jewelry Set

Avon Bravo Jewelry Collection

Avon Bravo Jewelry Collection

Lately I’ve been reaching for the same jewelry everyday, call it lazy or I call it, goes – with – everything.  I can’t tell you how many compliments and questions I’ve received on it so I thought I might as well wear and share!  First up is this Avon Bravo Jewelry Collection, what I seem to be wearing non-stop.  I think it’s because it goes with literally everything I wear, is silver and gold toned and bit fall with the feathers.   In this collection you can get the long necklace, bracelet, earrings and/or ring (not pictured) between $14.99 and $19.99 the price point is spot on.

Avon Bravo Necklace, Earrings and wrap bracelet

Next up is what I get complimented the most on, the Avon Calypso Sunrise Collection.  This set features a faux green geode look in a long necklace, bracelet and a colored stone ring (not pictured) at $19.99.  You would think this would be more for summer wear than fall, but paired with fall tones like camel, army green, taupe, sage, navy, etc this set really works for fall.  I first saw this paired against our Avon Versatile Faux Wrap Dress which is a mushroom color and I thought, WOW how stunning is that, a must have for fall!

Last but not least is the Fancy Animal Collection.  If you like a little personality into your jewelry then you can appreciate the fun in these guys.  This collection features what is obviously animals who are fancy in a bracelet, ring and watch in elephant, cheetah and leopard ($14.99 – $19.99).  I picked up 2 of the bracelets in leopard and cheetah, mainly because I already had this ring and I like the little bit o’ 90’s look to it.  These look really cute with just a simple jeans, tee, faux leather jacket and heels look.

Mid Month Makeover – $100 To Update Your September

“Do you remember the 21st night of September?  Love was changing the minds of pretenders.  While chasing the clouds away”… who doesn’t sing a little Earth Wind and Fire come September?  September is kinda like a re-fresh with everything back to school and fall-tastic, so here’s my picks on what to refresh your September with and only spending $100 because let’s face it all these fun fall activities add up!

Mid Month Makeover - $100 To Update Your September

Mid Month Makeover – $100 To Update Your September

mark. Sweat Equity Dress $40 – So this is a deep dark navy sweatshirt dress with a textured houndstooth pattern… why is it my top pick?  Not just because it’s houndstooth but it’s a super versatile item for September.  Wear it as a dress as the weather still a little warm with a suede sandal, a flat or a pair of chucks for weekend.  Then as it cools down switch to a bootie or boot and as it gets even colder layer it with leggings or tights or even a collard shirt for a tailored look.  All while being extremely soft and comfy in a sweatshirt dress!  Navy is a little more chic and unexpected from your normal black, but because it’s so dark it will look really nice paired against black.

mark. sweat equity dress

mark. sweat equity dress

mark. Buckled In Tote $44 – Everyone needs a good fall bag and basic black is always a good decision.  I like this one because it’s big enough to fit everything you need to go from work to weeked and can even double as a travel bag while still not being TOO big.  It rests easy on the shoulder, has a crucial functional zip pocket on the outside  and fun details with the buckles.  Plus the material is really easy to clean.

mark. buckled in tote

mark. Touch and Glow Shimmer Bars $16 – Just like switching up your wardrobe you need to switch up your makeup for the fall too.  You’re coming off of your summer glow so the warm bronzes, golds and peaches in this set are prefect.  Plus it’s a multitasker, one product for eyes, bronzer and highlighter and will pair perfectly with a fall lip no matter if you go berry, vampy or nude.  See how to use this product to strobe here and a golden look here.

Trending Tuesday: #menswear Inspired

#menswear trend in the world of alicia

#menswear trend in the world of alicia

If the world of alicia was the internet #menswear inspired trends would totally be trending this fall!  Come fall, menswear inspired looks are always on trend.  There’s something about menswear that is just classic when it comes to applying towards a women’s trend.  If you take a peek on my pinterest you’ll find TONS of menswear inspired looks but what I’m LOVING this fall is mark.’s boy meets girl fashion this season!

#menswear Trends

#menswear Trends

Boy Meets Girl:  You take a more masculine shape and put a more girly finishing touch to achieve this trend.  For me it has to still look like you’re wearing something made for a girl with the right silhouettes but made trendy with the fabrics and finishes.  For example how mark. did classic mixed with trendy with shapes, like the boxy tee, and details, like the mesh cut-outs!

Making Menswear Work

Making Menswear Work

Work Wear:  Working in trendy items for work isn’t always easy but when in doubt, layer in a classic white button down.  I LOVE how mark. styled the Any Day Tee and Day To Day Dress over a crisp white shirt.  A tip so simple but I never think to do this!  Pleated pants maybe should stay in the men’s department but when you make them slim, in a fluid fabric and in an ankle cut like these mark. Keeping Track Pants they become wardrobe must haves.

Need For Tweed

Need For Tweed

Need For Tweed:  Fall fabrics to me mean menswear, plaids, birdseye, houndstooh, tweed and more!  I love love love all the luxe fabrics come back in the fall, even if it is just the print.  The best way to wear these fabrics I think is in a coat, it just looks rich and makes a statement.  The Need For Tweed Coat from mark. has me smitten!  Wearing a coat like this over a cute little dress (like the mark. Day To Day Dress) is an easy (and warm) take on a Friday night look.  Don’t forget the leathers!  (or faux leathers) in a sturdy handbag (you KNOW I’ve been all about this  Neutral Territory Bag) and killer shoe/bootie!

Gilt Trip

Gilt Trip

Finishing Touches:  Like any look it’s the finishing touches that make it all come together.  For menswear I personally love adding some sleek metallic finishes and again mark.’s fall jewelry has the perfect solutions.  They compliment the menswear trend, not compete.  The lariat necklace has to be my #1 on the wish list.

Shop The Trends

Shop The Trends

Shop The Trends:  Usually I’m inspired by a ton of different images, shops, bloggers but seriously this time the mark. magalog was all the inspiration I needed.  I seriously want ALL OF THIS.  If you’re a capsule collection shopper, as in you buy all things that mix and match together for a season, then this is the ultimate!  I’m so all over the place and like different styles on the daily so I shop more for key pieces.  If I HAD TO pick just a few key pieces to add to my collection I think first is the Neutral Territory Bag (and yes I did already pick this one up so of course it’s my #1), followed by the Need For Tweed Coat, Keeping Track Pants, Fine Lines Lariat and Top Story Hat.  These are all classics for your wardrobe that you can wear again and again and mix with what you already have.  What menswear trends are you loving?

You can shop the trend at my eBoutique at http://www.youravon.com/aliciahessinger ALSO there is a FREE SHIP code TREATS for any order over $25 and 20% off of a $60 order with promo code AVONFB60.

Trending Tuesday – Fall IT Color #camel

If the world of alicia was the internet then #camel would totally be trending.  This fall I’ve had a color crush on camel.  I’m not much of a brown person but camel is like it’s creamy cousin that looks excellent against that end of summer tan and your classic blacks and blues.  That’s why camel is totally trending in my world… if you couldn’t tell by my #1 camel pick, my camel colored bag that I’m OBSESSED with… and a few other camel inspirations…

A camel bag – My must have as of latemark. Neutral Territory Bag.  Big and structured so super effective!

It’s Wear and Share Wednesday!  Which means Jacki from Living After Midnite and I take the same item and style it 2 ways!  With the mark. As a working girl I immediately style most my outfits work friendly!  Playing up the lace details I layered a lace blazer from Bebe over the dress.  I cinched the waist with a wide black belt (mark.) a few accessories and some lace pumps rounded out the look.  The shift dress is very 60’s but this mark. Dark Blooms dress is a modern take… so I styled mine with some 60’s influence from my clutch to my hair!

My go to lace pumps (Shoedazzle) pair well with my lace cuff (gifted) all against my black satin clutch.  A little something about this clutch… it’s my mom’s from the 60’s.  As a kid I always loved it, played with it, stared at it, held it.  Then as I got older and realized it just always sat in her closet so I snatched it up.  Mom’s always had good taste!  Plus I like having the mom memento!
