Happy October! When did that happen? It def doesn’t feel like fall but I have been shopping for fall! Here are some trends that I’m noticing for fall that I’m looking to add and some more functional pieces I need to updated and refresh.

Light Blues and Greens – I noticed these colors are popping up for fall everything from your light sky blue to your dusky blues and colors like sage, basil, forest… all the muted and calm tones. These are great transitional colors, wear now with your light and brights and later with the darks and denim. I also think these would look really sharp with shades of rust, oranges and wine come deep fall. I picked up a few pieces in this color scheme from H&M and Express.

Gray Jeans – I really like a gray denim, you can wear them edgy or everyday. Wear them just like you would your black jeans. I just ordered a pair from Express that are super stretchy and can flex with your sizes up to 3 sizes.

Shacket – shirt + jacket = shacket! the trend from last fall is still going strong for this fall. Think a heavyweight flannel or corduroy shirt that’s oversized that you can wear like a shirt or a jacket. Kinda perfect for Nor Cal where it doesn’t ever get that cold esp in the fall. Just on the hunt for the perfect length and color combo. This year a long length shacket is trending like this Avon Studio 1886 one I picked up.

Relaxed Fit Jeans – this can be everything from your mom jeans to your dad jeans to your 90’s jeans however you want to classify them, but the key is relaxed fit and higher waist. I’m looking to update my denim with this fresh fit, but still searching for the right one. I want one that’s more fitted in the seat but a straight leg with a slightly cropped hem. Destruction and color will also sway my mind!

Cream/Ivory/White Boots – Maybe its the lover of all things 60’s mod but give me a white boot! Trending for fall I see a lot of the western pull on type of style, relaxed fit in a smooth cream leather. I really like the idea of just a tall leather style with a stacked heel or even a more rugged lugged sole version. I ordered a couple options from Shoedazzle but I am still on the hunt for that western pull on type of style.

White Sleeveless Blouse – This is more functional list for me than a trend, but an updated white sleeveless blouse is a wear now, layer later item I need. Plus I have this outfit vision of a relaxed blouse with fitted black pants and a color pop shoe, like these sky blue woven heels I have from Shoedazzle.

Suede – What fall “it list” doesn’t include suede!? This year I’m seeing in rich colors like whisky, burgundy, sapphire, etc. I kinda feel like that early 2000’s vibe is really in this fall when we had a plethora of these earthy tones in earthy fabrics. (Think J. Lo and King of Queen’s Lisa Remini). I’m on the hunt for the perfect suede jacket. Birthday gift to myself was a great suede bag from Dooney & Bourke which will be my fall bag! And I luckily was able to score this now sold out faux suede dress from White House Black Market for my fall events (like Anniversary!)

Broaches and Accessory Jewelry – For the accessories this season I’m loving the trend of broaches on your sweaters and jackets and jewelry for you bag like chains and charms. I would love a designer logo broach for the season, but my budget may not allow that haha. I’m a total broach person, they’re so retro but classic. I mean I did have a broach bouquet! For shoe/bag jewelry think chains, stones, and studs. I’m looking for a cross body bag or satchel with a heavy chain detail or tortoise chain detail. Really I want a dupe for this Bottega Veneta.

Even though I’m still on the hunt for fa trends I did get a good little fall refresh going already. The advantage of your birthday falling near Labor Day is I get to use all my birthday coupons on those Labor Day sales allowing me to snag new fall. What is on your fall wishlist?
