Get The Look: Lauren Conrad Inspired Makeup Look For September

Lauren Conrad Inspired Makeup For September

Lauren Conrad Inspired Makeup For September

Yesterday I shared my inspiration for September (check it here), included was this makeup look from the LC Lauren Conrad September campaign.  I liked I it so much I decided to recreate it with products I had.

Lauren Conrad's Makeup for September

Lauren Conrad’s Makeup for September

The key points to recreate from Lauren Conrad’s look is her flawless skin, thick winged liner and a deep berry/Bordeaux lip.  I will never be quite so flawless but foundation is the right starting point to this look.

Avon Ideal Flawless Foundation For The Base

Avon Ideal Flawless Foundation For The Base

Face:  Avon Ideal Flawless Invisible Coverage Liquid Foundation in Creamy Natural, mark. Just Blushing in Dollhouse (no longer available try Avon Ideal Luminous Blush in Heavenly Pink) and for highlighter I used mark. Touch and Glow Shimmer Cubes in Coral.

Inspired Look With Pink Eyes, Winged Liner and Deep Lips

Inspired Look With Pink Eyes, Winged Liner and Deep Lips

Lauren’s eyes seem to have a bit more of a rose gold and bronze shading to them but I was inspired to just go with a light shimmering pink all over my lids.  The pink and burgundy play so well together in her outfit so well it inspired me to leave it just as is.  If you wanted to go more true to her look I would work in the mark. On The Dot pallet in Neutral in the outer V and middle of lid.  I used Lauren’s favorite mark. liner for the wing and lots of mascara to recreate her full lashes.

Avon Beyond Color Lipstick In Revenge

Avon Beyond Color Lipstick In Revenge

Lips:  Avon Beyond Color Lipstick in Revenge.  Avon just re-released their Beyond Color lipstick in an updated formula and new shades along with classic favorites.  This shade Revenge is the perfect deep berry/bordeaux shade I’ve been looking for.  (and spot on for this recreation!).

This is definitely a look I’ll be wearing all September.  You can shop the products used here and check out the shop tab for all the promo codes available at http://www.youravon.com/aliciahessinger

BONUS:  Not sure if you’re as big of a fan of the LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s collection as I am.  BUT tonight they’ll be airing her first runway collection for the line live from NY Fashion week.  Be sure to head over to kohls.com at 7pm est to get the deets.  Download the app periscope to view on your device.  That navy moto jacket with the rose gold detail is calling my name!  I love how fun and creative this line is, they do a great job sticking with the esthetic and keeping things unique!

PS.  I’m going to throw this out there… Galaxy S5 camera is the WORST.  These images were taken with the front facing camera which is even worse then the backside.  But makeup pics and front facing selfie camera go together like pb & jelly!  I can’t believe what an inferior product Samsung made with this camera.  It rarely focus and the images are grainy and horrible even in natural light.  I’m too lazy to bust out my slr, set up a tripod and use my remote when I have a self facing camera in the palm of my hand.  If there was ever a reason to upgrade your phone this would be it… I despise it.  So sorry for the crappy images, maybe because I’ll be wearing this look all Sept. long you’ll see me in person and be like killer lipstick!

Trending Tuesday: September Inspo

September Inspo

September Inspo

If the world of Alicia was the internet inspo for September would totally be trending!  September for me is always a love/hate relationship.  I LOVE August, summer, hot temps and long days.  September is the start to the end of all of that… but also the start of more things I love, Penn State football, all football, apple hill (for my nor cal’ers) and all the fun events in September.  Luckily it’s still summer hot here and we technically have a few weeks left of summer so here’s what’s inspiring me for September!

This month I’m really feeling all shades of blues, especially navy, camels and nudes, red and burgundy with a bit of neutral blush tones and light greys.  Think very collegiate shades.

I saw this pic of Lauren for her September LC Lauren Conrad Collection ad and I immediately was smitten.  This is what September beauty is about, flawless skin, a light and bright eye with a classic wing liner, full lashes and a bright but deep berry lip.  I already use her staple eyeliner, mark. On The Edge Liquid Liner and I think I can find a similar lip shade!

Apple Everything

Apple Crisp

Apple Crisp

If pumpkin everything is the motto for October then apple everything is the inspo for September!  I’ll be sure to make my favorite apple crisp, take a visit to Apple Hill and light a few of my favorite apple scented candles this month.  I totally like apple flavors way more than pumpkin!

Chic Peek: LC Lauren Conrad Disney’s Cinderella Collection

One of my earliest life memories is this magical day when I was a little girl and my older brother and mother took me to see Cinderella. It obiv was a re-release but to the 5-yr old Alicia is was the newest most magical movie ever and spawned many Cinderella themed outfits for most of kindergarden. Now with the live action Cinderella in theaters, the outpouring of Cinderella collaborations has been nothing but pure Disney magic.  They’re making me just as happy as a 5 year old Alicia wearing those screen printed Cinderella outfits with the matching skirt/leggings. My favorite collaboration has to be the LC Lauren Conrad Disney’s Cinderella Collection.

Besides being completely inspired by her super fun ad campaign (see here), to her launch event (see here) I went to my local Kohl’s to browse the collection they had in stock.  This collection is perfectly fitting for a modern day princess, clean cut, dainty and girly.

Alicia's Top Picks From The Collaboration

Alicia’s Top Picks From The Collaboration

My top picks from the collaboration are (from left to right), Mesh Back Dress ($80), Organza Bow Back Dress ($80), Foil Graphic Tee ($44) and Tulle Skirt ($64).  The best thing with Kohl’s is there is always a sale going on and coupons/additional discounts so those original prices are never what you pay.

Now if only I could wear a tulle skirt every day of the week!  A big tulle skirt may be a little hard to wear but dressing it down with a graphic tee makes it all the more wearable.  Might just be the perfect pairing for a Easter gathering or a spring fling!  (shoes and watch from my eboutique)

Mani Monday: Copy Cat Lauren Conrad Nails

Lauren Conrad Nail Inspo (via IG)

Lauren Conrad posted this pretty up on her Instagram page and I was immediately smitten, the soft shades, the gorge trimmings and that nail!  A small pop of sparkly goodness that I HAD to recreate!  It looks like a white base shade with pink undertones and a glittered textured top coat like Essie LuxeEffects (which I’ve been known to rock).

For my recreation I used Julep Dana as my base and Avon Dazzlers Top Coat in Disco Ball.  I think the outcome was definitely spot on!  I could of gone with Avon Dazzlers Top Coat in Show Stopper Copper to look a bit more like hers, but I liked the silver.  I have many Essie LuxeEffects and I have to say these Avon Dazzlers are giving them a run for their money… literally, considering these Avon polishes are only $6.

Huge fan of this one!  Definitely going to recreate this a few more times, plus it was super quick and easy with mega impact!  Bonus it’s the perfect soft shades mani to go with my current obsession (see here)!

To dress up my mark. Aztec Empire Shorts I decided to pair it with a sheer blouse (LC Lauren Conrad Kohls) that picks up the mint coloring in the print and lady like accessories.  A black pair of pointed toe pumps grounds the look (Rino GX by Gwen Stefani for Shoedazzle) and finished it off with mark. accessories (Classic Hit Handbag, All In Good Time Watch and  All The Angles Earrings).
