Things I love:  Week O’Nautical and Target collaborations!  So!  We’re kicking off WON 2019 with my Vineyard Vines for Target haul!  Half the fun of these collaborations is stalking your favorites pieces and hunting them down.  I was somehow able to hit up my local store on the day of the release to go stalk.  I ended up coming home with 2 dresses and a blanket.  All 3 pieces are super nautical, very preppy and obviously my 3 top picks from the collection.

I knew the fashion would be the first to blow out of stock so I zoned in on those first.  The white dress is a seersucker-like fabric with an adorable navy and white ribbon belt… which you know I’ll be re-using ;).  The navy and white striped pullover shift dress is so versatile, and I was really impressed with the quality.  It’s more of a material like you’d find on a golf shirt, and it has pockets!  It’s just a super easy piece for the summer.  I can wear to work, the golf course, the pool, the lake, you name it!

These Target collabs always do a good job on the home pieces, and if I had more budget, I would of come home with way more of it.  A red, white and blue blanket has been something I wanted to drape over my papasan chair to dress it up with some summer holiday decor.  I also really loved the wood trays and the whale hooks.  The tumblers are also a great little item if you just wanted something cute and practical.

I want to go back for the cute pet bandanas (which you’ll see all over IG if you search the hashtag #vineyardvinesfortarget).  I also really like that beach chair, and I’ve been wanting one for lake days.  It would also pair really well with that whale shaped pool float, which I also need a new one of.  So if I need these items anyways, why not get some exclusively cute ones from Target which are priced pretty darn well.

You can view the entire release on Target’s website and shop what’s still available.  If there’s something you have your eye on and is in my local store, hit me up, I’ll go get it for you 🙂  And just to refresh, Week O’Nautical is how I count down to our patriotic holidays, by wearing red white and blue all week in a nautical fashion… see previous posts and how loosely I follow this theme haha.

Week O’Nautical – Julep Sail Away Bombshell Maven Box

Julep Set Sail Collection for May

Julep Set Sail Collection for May

Ok so I was supposed to post this yesterday but the long weekend was way to enjoyable to be on the computer/tablet/etc. I definitely disconnected over Memorial Day weekend and I’m totally ok with it. So here’s my mani Monday post “going up, on a Tuesday!”

May Bombshell Maven Box

May Bombshell Maven Box

For May, Julep released a “Set Sail” collection based around nautical influences.  I HAD to opt in this month and get my monthly maven box in bombshell which included a purple creme with blue undertones (Denise) and a slightly off white creme (Vanna) with a lip crayon in a fuchsia (which I gave to my mom because it looked PERFECT on her).  Even though these shades aren’t your typical nautical red white and blue (which I was this close on getting instead) they still go perfectly with your nautical looks.  For my add on I added these anchor nail decals because as much as I liked my free-hand anchor last year (see here) this was WAY EASIER!  Oh and can we mention it came with salt water taffy from Ocean City MD, how fitting!

I really couldn’t decided on what I wanted to do with this box since I’ve been into just classically painted nails in one color with a great topcoat.  So I decided just to do 2 fingers in Vanna (white) and 3 in Denise (purple) with the anchors on my pointer and middle.

I have to say despite my horrible cuticles this nail look definitely was a favorite as of late.  It got a lot of attention randomly, like the check stand girl complimenting how great they looked and how she thought it was a gel mani.  Goes to prove how fantastic the Julep formula is!

Thumbs up for Julep!

As we are officially unofficially now in summer, and the long Memorial Day weekend is now over, so is my Week O’Nautical here on the blog… until the 4th of July that is.  Until then, let’s paint the town red!  and purple!  and white!  and all the other mani colors of summer!

Week O’Nautical – Guard Orange

Nautical Guard Orange

Nautical Guard Orange

Week O’Nautical sails on with the Coast Guard’s signature orange being today’s focus.  I mean, with a bright color like that, how can it not go noticed… at sea or in a nautical influenced outfit!  The inspiration all started with one perfect necklace, the mark. Sail Away Duo Charm Necklace ($20 at my eBoutique).  How perfectly fitting for my week of nautical outfits as we count down to the long Memorial Day weekend!?!

I paired my guard orange skirt from Express (belt by mark.) with a navy tank from Kohls and my favorite navy and white striped open cardigan from Loft with a gold tote and flats from mark.  A functional outfit for so many occasions including a Memorial Day BBQ!

Sometimes cute flats are just necessary.

Typically a heels wearer, but I’ll make an exception for cute chain details and gold.  Sometimes the occasion just calls for flats.  When nautical trend styling gold chain detailing is a must!  A trend carried from head, the mark. Hang With Me Earrings ($20 at my eBoutique), to toe with these mark. flats.

Gold details, nautical stripes, navy and guard orange, all the nautical elements needed for a Week O’Nautical outfit.  You could easily switch out the skirt for shorts or loose the cardi for warmer weather.  Wearing a bright color is easy when you pair it with grounded pieces like a solid navy tank.  Give it a try this Memorial Day weekend!

Because the skirt is a little mod in shape with the a-line mini I went with a mod eye makeup creating a navy cat eye using the mark. Island Eyes Pallet ( $16 — see my review here).  I used the light blue shade all over my lid then using an eyeliner brush (dry) I created a line at the lashes using the dark blue shade and extending it beyond.  I followed up with a liquid liner on top of that line (mark. Get In Line) and finished with a good coat of mascara on curled lashes (mark. Last Act) and mark. Island Beauty Pallet for bronzing and blush.  Get all the products used at my eBoutique.

We’re down to only 1 more work day until the unofficial start of summer, Memorial Day weekend.  As you figure out your plans, and therefore your outfit, hopefully Week O’Nautical provides some inspiration.  Check out my past posts from the week:  Mani Monday, White Linen and Wear To Work.  Be sure to check back tomorrow and over the weekend for more Week O’Nautical!

Week O’Nautical Kickoff!

The long weekend is in sight… and you know what that means, WEEK O’NAUTICAL!  For my summer holidays I celebrate Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor day by wearing red white and blue inspired all week long, which basically just turns into nautical inspired looks.

Since I was not able to capture this week’s looks I’m kicking off week o’nautical with a recap of past nautical looks.  Check out my Week O’Nautical category posts:  http://helplicia.wordpress.com/category/week-onautical/

In addition, here’s some nautical friendly pieces I’ve been loving.  Definitely have put this mark. White On Time Blazer ($48) in heavy rotation this spring, particularly over a navy t-shirt dress.  My favorite t-shirt dresses (including this one) came from H&M.  I can see this blazer looking equally as chic over some sailor shorts and tank, a nautical striped maxi, or with some trouser jeans!

My go-to accessories have been the mark. Dramatic Effect Stretch Bracelet (shown) paired with the Deco Drama Studs and Stones and Cones Necklace ($22).  You can get the White On Time Blazer and Stones and Cones necklace currently at my eboutique:  http://ahessinger.mymarkstore.com for the bracelet and earrings they’re currently unavailable but I might be able to hook you up 😉

The other piece currently unavailable are the Blues Cruise pants but I bought them specifically for Week O’Nautical!  So check out the looks below and be inspired to wear your red, white and blue… and stay tuned for an exclusive sneak peek and maybe even a week o’nautical special!!!

Week O’ Nautical Day 5 – Navy and White

Now here’s your traditional nautical look for Friday.  The delta breeze is coming through so only like a high of 70 today which got me excited because I thought to myself, “I can wear my white jeans for nautical week!”  This is what gets me excited, I’m easy to please.

Classic Nautical Look

Classic Nautical Look

The top is my week of nautical staple, I wear it every week o’ nautical every year.  This BeBe find from years back has paid for itself with the price per wear index.  My jeans were gifted to be from the best gifter, my mom!  She’s got the Kohl’s connection so when I saw that Rock and Republic came to Kohl’s mom granted the hookup.  I highly reccommend the Rock and Republic line at Kohl’s.  Since Kohl’s bought out the line they’ve done a good job at keeping its original look and feel of the line with a better price point.  These are the Kasandra fit which I like a lot because they slim through the legs down past the knee until they flare out for the bootcut.  I would like them to be a little more low rise but that’s because I’m only 5′ even.  The weight on these is a little thick but not too thick that they’re too hot for spring.  Plus the thickness allows for almost zero show through.

As for the rest of my outfit I switched from the gold I’ve been wearing all week to clean and sleek silver.  I kept it simple with a cuff from Express, a bracelet style watch from Burberry and simple silver band ring I got on vaca to Mexico.  And then there’s my shoes… I’ve been waiting all week to wear these navy cut out pumps with grey and yellow detailing from Shoedazzle.  These shoes suck to walk in, they’re too big even with inserts and barely stay on my feet, but they’re nice and high and match so nicely so when I can, I sacrifice for fashion.  And you know that bag and scarf I showed you in Wednesday’s Boho Nautical look... well I tied that scarf on my bag for a little extra something.  (even the pups liked it!)  I also wore some super star dangling earrings I found in my jewelry box from college.  Didn’t really show up well in my pics, but my star earrings showed up nicely with a messy pony.  I thought they were very USA stars and strips appropriate!

Get The Look

Get The Look: Hampton’s Color Collection.  You can recreate my makeup look with some of our NEW color collection and some old favorites!!!

First I bronzed up my skin with our gradual tanners for both face and body, It’s A Glow (12) Glow It All ($14).

For Face I used Conceal For Real Hookup ($6) to cover even out and cover up flaws. Followed by Bronze Pro ($12) lightly all over with emphasis on my cheeks for contouring.

For Eyes I used the the new Keep It Going shade Naturalist $11 (Brown and Teal). I lined half my eye with the teal shade using the Flat Eyeliner Brush ($7). Followed by lining the outer half with the brown shade with wining it out and blended into the crease. I topped it off with liquid black liner, Get In Line Waterproof Liquid Liner in Painted Black ($6.50) and finishing it off with Lash All You Want in Black ($11). This gave a pop of color on the eye coordinating with the pop’s of color in my outfit, but mild enough for day wear.

For Lips I used Gloss On Lip Gloss in Sunset Beach ($10).

Fragrance I used the new Instant Vacation Fragrance Hamptons in both the shimmering body lotion ($10) and fragrance ($20) for extra staying power and just a little gleam with the shimmer lotion. This is not your typical glitter lotion, just a very pretty adult shimmer.
