Word on Roasted Chestnut:  This is one of the newly released shades in the line that I picked up during the sale last campaign.  I was expecting this to be a darker brown shade but its actually a very wearable deeper nude.  It’s more flattering than a “foundation” nude color and goes with pretty much any color you’re wearing and will work year round.  Works especially well with spring florals.  😉

Luxe Fall: Black and Camel

Luxe Fall: Black and Camel

Luxe Fall: Black and Camel

A color combination that always looks luxe is black and camel. A classic combination that works year round, but looks extra appropriate for fall. This fall I found the perfect luxe fall look with black and camel with the mark. Drape Expectations Dress.

mark. Drape Expectations Dress.

My go-to dress this fall has been this mark. Drape Expectations Dress.  It’s super easy to wear, especially for work, one and done!  This dress features a camel sheath dress with a black overlay to create a color block effect.  It’s in a crepe like fabric making the classic color combo even more luxe.  The color blocking/cut in effect also gives the illusion of a slimmer you, and that’s never a bad thing!

To luxe up the look even more I’m wearing the mark. Tough It Out Necklace, Mixed and Matched Bracelet and a genuine leather tote, the Avon Whipstitch Leather and Suede tote.  (all available here)

For the warm fall we’ve been having, this dress has seen a lot of wear just by itself.  Now that its officially November, this dress can easily transition with a cardi or blazer, some tights and boots.  I have this great camel and blacked striped long open cardigan I love wearing with it! It would also look really cute with a black turtleneck underneath, as it has that faux jumper look to it.  A classic dress like this is never a bad idea to add to your closet!

You can shop my entire look at http://www.youravon.com/aliciahessinger and because this dress is $42 you already qualify for the A Box for only $10!  Get red-y by adding this on and you’ll have a head to toe look perfect for you luxe fall!  (see more about the A-box here)

Mani Monday: Nude Blue and Leopard Top Pinned Recreate

So lately this pin has been receiving so many re-pinnes. Before that it was this cheesecake recipe I’ve yet to make it, but looks easy and delicious… I digress, back to the mani. Because it was getting so much pinterest love I decided to recreate it.

Recreating Most PInned Mani

Recreating Most PInned Mani

For my recreate I did it a little differently but kept the nude, blue and spot design. I recently got this Avon Gel Finish Polish in Barely There, a darker nude shade and been wanting to use it so figured this was the time! I applied 2 coats over the Avon Ridge Filling Basecoat on every finger except my ring where I used Essie Borrowed and Blue (last seen here). I then used a gold glitter on my middle and a leopard jamberry wrap on my pointer.  The wrap is called Spot On, which is just a leopard print on a clear base.

All together my recreation has the same color scheme and overall design as the pin but with a little different twist with the glitter and clear based Jamberry wrap. I love the whole look and feel for spring and I can see thing working really well in the fall too coming off of summer brights.

Can I comment on how awesome the Avon Gel Finish polishes are! They are so perfectly self leveling, shine and wear great without a top coat and last! Right now these polishes are any 2 for $8.99.  You can shop the gel finish polishes and the ridge filling base coat at my eBoutique.  You can shop Jamberry here.

Trending Tuesday: Soft Shades

If the world of alicia was the internet #softshades would be trending!  I’m completely, utterly, most definitely obsessing over all things neutral and soft.  And I don’t think I’m the only one because they are ALL OVER the place!  I think, in this weird, not-quite-spring but not-quite-winter season (except back East muhahaha) we’ll lean toward a fresh clean pallet but still need to be a bit layered and bundled.  This is where soft shades of whites, grays, blues, blushes, etc stand out as go-to’s for late February in a monochromatic fashion.

I could get lost in Pinterest with all the soft shade pinspiration but a few standouts have made the board. Check out my soft shades board here for more inspiration.  Here’s what’s been inspiring me lately:

Soft shades were also HUGE at the Oscar’s!  My favorites were Zoe, Lupita, Reese, with my top dress of the night going to Jennifer Aniston!

What I love about these tones are that they pair perfectly with your basics like black, navy and gray.  All you need are a few items to mix in with what you already have.  I picked up this peach/blush Tuck Stitch Cover Up from Express and it’s been in heavy rotation with everything from my mint jeans to my black dress pants!  My other must-have pick is the mark. Sheer Brilliance Sweatshirt (see here as my pick for February).  The addition of these two tops in soft shades opened up my wardrobe for a pinterest worthy soft shade love fest!  Here’s a peek how #softshades have been trending in my world.

Mani Monday: Turquoise and Nude Nails

Turquoise and Nude Mani

Turquoise and Nude Mani

Coming straight off my turquoise accent obsession today’s Mani Monday is nothing but fitting, especially for summer.  Ever since I got the mark. Nail This Look Polish and Ring Set I’ve basically been wearing the shade Seafoam non stop (as seen here and here).  It pairs well with everything from yellow to pink to blue to nude and more so no surprise I’m still wearing it.  Only this time with beige, Avon Barefoot Beige and a nude halo, Julep Ginger on my ring finger.

Usually my summer go-to is the brightest pink I can find but this year I’m all about the turquoise, mint and blues!  Lucky for me they’re hot this season (as seen here!)  Plus, they play well with my mark. Sparkle in A Snap Bracelet and Avon Signature Boyfriend Watch!  Shop these exact shades and accessories at my eBoutique and shop Julep here.

Wear and Share Wednesday – mark. by Avon Lady Luxe Necklace and Antique Chic Bracelet

Wear And Share Wednesday - mark. Lady Luxe Necklace and Antique Chic Bracelet

Wear And Share Wednesday – mark. Lady Luxe Necklace and Antique Chic Bracelet

Holiday season is officially in full swing!  From shopping and prepping to get togethers and parting its time to bust out everything sparkly and festive and enjoy the next 4 weeks of the greatest time of the year!!!  Which is why we’ve been saving this ultimate duo for wear and sharing… the mark. Lady Luxe Necklace and Antique Chic bracelet.  Two holiday must-haves styled 2 ways by Jackie from Living After Midnight and myself!

Winter White With The Lady Luxe and Antiqued Chic

Winter White With The Lady Luxe and Antiqued Chic

Putting together a holiday look the formal/party event is easy, party dress, heels, sparkly jewelry, done.  But it’s those in-between events that get us, and honestly, what we really are invited to.  The during work hours office party, the neighborhood get together, the kid’s (or niece/nephew) christmas play, etc… these are the events we get dressed for in reality.  This is when you can step up your accessories and go a little out of the box, like head to toe winter white.  It’s probably not too surprising I love winter white looks (or fall white looks as worn here).  An all white look stands on its own BUT adding some killer accessories ups the ante and takes it into holiday territory.

The mark. Lady Luxe Necklace ($50 at http://www.youravon.com/aliciahessinger) is certainly a statement piece!  Its large and in charge but done right, not obnoxious at all.  I kept the look lady like with the soft and golden tones by stacking an arm party with the mark. Antique Chic Bracelet ($28 at http://www.youravon.com/aliciahessinger) and the older mark. Style and Stones bracelet.  This picture is the most accurate in color and detail in real life.  Apparently my all white look kinda bugged out the camera haha!

mark. Taupe The Line Bag

For a day event grab the mark. Taupe The Line Bag ($75 at http://www.youravon.com/aliciahessinger)  It’s big enough to hold everything you need going from place to place and the soft neutral taupe tone really works against white.  If its a night event switch to a gold clutch… which you could even have stashed away in here during the day 🙂  Plus it matches my nude suede pointed toe pumps with gold caps!  (Shoedazzle)

Functional Yet Festive Holiday Look

Functional Yet Festive Holiday Look

This look is functional yet festive plus it will keep you warm in those chilly December temps!  Which, let’s be honest, usually we freeze in a party dress…  After the statement makers in the necklace and bracelet your beauty can be kept simple.  I just did a simple eye in gold with i-mark metallics in Goldilux ($7) swept across the entire lid followed with a cream liner on my top lash line and worked slightly into the crease for a little definition, I used the black shade of mark. Keep It Going Longwear Liner and Shadow ($11) in Entourage and finished with Lash Act in Blackest Black ($12).  For my face I contoured with mark. Light Show Illuminating Powder ($16) using the mark. Angled Kabuki Brush ($12) with mark. Touch and Glow ($16)  used as blush on the apples of my cheeks.  (sidenote:  Light Show is one of my all time favorite mark. beauty products and its slight shimmer gives the perfect glow for the holidays!).  To finish off the entire look and to make it more holiday I ended with a red lip with mark. Lip Click in ChaCha ($11).  You can shop all the beauty items at my eBoutique.

You know the real caption to that was keep your dirty paws off my white pants!  White pants can be tricky but I find the key is get quality ones like these from White House Black Market.  And bringing along a scarf to sit on in case of not so white pant friendly seating!  However this look is definitely one of my favorites and the look is really MADE with the mark. Lady Luxe necklace and Antiqued Chic Bracelet.  If you haven’t noticed here and here I’ve been wearing this bracelet non stop!  Funny how 2 pieces can take a monochromatic look from cute to being a holiday killer!  Be sure to see the full details of Jackie’s look over at Living After Midnight!

And since I guess its not all about us… these would make excellent gifts either together or separate or even paired with a great winter white fashion item!  Shop the Lady Luxe Necklace, Antique Chic Bracelet and other holiday items to give and get at my eBoutique:  http://www.youravon.com/aliciahessinger or direct message me to order, mention you saw this post and get $5 off 🙂

mark. Go With The Bold necklace Styled 2 Ways

There’s no denying that Jackie from Living After Midnight and I are accessories junkies!  They’re like little treasures, small, shiny and always eye catching!  That’s why this week’s Wear and Share Wednesday’s treasure had to be the mark. Go For The Bold necklace!  This exotic piece really stands on its own which is why Jackie and I both styled an outfit around it.

Working Girl Wardrobe

Working Girl Wardrobe

If you caught my post yesterday I suggested that every working girl wardrobe needs a sleeveless sheer blouse and a pencil skirt.  Here’s another look how that simple combination and some killer jewelry can easily answer the question “what am I going to wear to work today!?!?”  Recreate with an animal print sheer blouse with a solid pencil skirt, I’m wearing the mark. Call It A Tie Blouse with a basic white skirt from Charlotte Russe.  You can look completely put together and fashionable with this formula.  Now just add on the little treasures… like the mark. Go For The Bold necklace ($24)!

Accessory Treasures featuring mark. Go For The Bold Necklace

Accessory Treasures featuring mark. Go For The Bold Necklace

Mixing prints with prints is super on trend but hard for me!  I just feel mismatched, but the combination of animal prints in neutral, similar colors is a subtle way to do it.  The Go For The Bold necklace ($24) really compliments this outfit and the shiny gold allows it to stay summery.  To keep things looking light and appropriate for summer I kept my jewelry in the same color family with the Get To The Point Ring ($18 remember from our last wear and share post!?!), Bohemian Rocks Bracelet ( $24), In The Mix Bracelets (in and out of sale in my eBoutique) and a smokey eye in shades of bronze and brown withe mark. i-marks!  All available at my eBoutique.

And what’s a working girl without a great work bag!?!  The mark. Tote The Town Bag ($45 at my eBoutique) has been my go to for work.  It’s HUGE so it holds everything and then some, like your notebook, ipad and lunch!  The linen with faux leather trim keeps the look light and fresh but tailored enough for all your work wear.  Complete the look with a pair of pointed toe pumps in a neutral color, bonus points if they have cutouts like these ones!  I recently unloaded my storage unit and came across a bunch of treasures including these pumps I completely forgot I even owned!  Storage wars, Alicia version (as I’m coining it!) unveiled a lot of awesome finds that completely uplifted my wardrobe (and life!)
