Happy Halloween! Everyone’s plans and situations for the holiday may vary, but one thing is for sure, you can definitely add a little Halloween fun and theme out your life!
I found the most adorable and comfy! bat print sweatshirt at Target. I’ve basically lived in it for the past month. Its lightweight, has slits on the side and oh so soft. I paired it over a black and white striped summer dress for an easy day look, its still 90 degrees here folks! However, I’ve worn it more just lounging around, making spirits spooky!
You know when you go to Target you never leave with just one thing… Also picked up this fun sign for the holiday decor! Hashtag Target run!
I hope this weekend you at least carve a Jack O Lantern… and maybe watch Hocus Pocus 😉 Have a spoooooky Halloween!
One thing about being around for 134 years… you become iconic. There is always something nostalgic and vintage with Avon. Heather from Hopelessly Heather and I love a good classic vintage look so with the Iconic Avon collection we were inspired.
On Heather: Iconic Mini Lip Color (wearing the mauve shade in the pink tube)
“I always look forward Avon’s Iconic offerings—their vintage vibe is totally my jam! This time around, they released a few items that make a big splash!
I used the Pearly Ribbon Brooch to help create a “soft” waistline on my dress by gathering some of the excess material to nip in one side. Brooches are the quintessential retro accessory, but they are also the most flexible—you can wear them on hats, lapels, scarves, handbags, in your hair…the sky is the limit! They always add a touch of elegance.
The Iconic Mini Lip Color trio tube designs are so stinkin’ cute, and you can easily pop all three in your handbag to reapply throughout the day to create different looks. The lipstick itself is creamy, goes on smoothly, and strong color. My fave easily the mauve hue in the pink tube—it’s…mauve-lous. ::ba dum tiss::
I opted to loop the super long chain of the Pearly Locket around my neck an extra time so it would hang at a more traditional level, which always gives the added bonus of creating a choker layer, which I’m all about. The locket is fairly large and heavy with a magnetic closure—it would easily hold a small photo or lock of hair, and there’s no fear they’d get lost by a locket malfunction…those magnets are strong.
The Statement Necklace and Stud Earrings scream royalty. The necklace is very upper-class, and hangs at the collar level. It’s a substantial piece, but not overwhelming. The opulent pink cat’s eye glass stones break up the goldtone scroll leaf design of the chain. The earrings are a little simpler, but they are perfectly paired with the necklace. Together, they command respect and attention. The only thing missing from this collection is a crown!”
On Alicia: Iconic Avon lip, Studio 1886 Soft Knit Dress, Iconic Eye Collection, Iconic Elastine Perfumed Hair Serum – Amethyst, Iconic Veilment Perdumed Body Gel – Sunset Bloom.
There’s just something extra beautiful about vintage, just a little more glam. Right now, I’ll take anything that’s makes me feel a little extra glam. Like, perfumed hair serum, that looks just as stunning sitting on your vanity.
An iconic cat eye winged liner is my everyday go to. The Iconic Eye collection gives me the must haves to achieve it everytime… smooth and tightened lids, lots of lashes and the perfect liquid liner. I have raved over this liner before but it really is that perfect. The felt tip isn’t too stiff or too soft and its smooth black black formula lasts all day. Plus! the value on this set for $35 is outstanding!
The Studio 1886 Soft Knit Dress was giving me those vintage vibes that meshed perfectly with this collection. I may not be as chic as my vintage inspo from grandma-in-law Mary, but I try 😉
These Iconic Avon pieces are limited edition and only on the eBoutique a few more days! But don’t fret as more Iconic Avon is launching just in time for holiday!
It’s Wear and Share Wednesday! I switched to my fall bag so why not share it! This bag was actually a birthday treat to myself. I got the black version back in the spring and it was the PERFECT work bag. The size was perfectly large enough to hold what I need, it had enough pockets to keep me organized, nylon to keep it light and durable with leather details to step it up a knotch. It also came with a cosmetic bag and a key chain, so win win! I then became obsessed with the persimmon shade. I thought it would be perfect for fall, especially in Nor Cal where its hot through November.
It’s Western Wind Wear and Share Wednesday! Basically just trying to get as many W’s in one phrase as possible. If you watched my Unboxing video you saw I picked up some of the Avon Western Wind jewelry collection and while I’m not western AT ALL I definitely got all the Yellowstone vibes with this collection.
Channeling my inner Beth Dutton
Chanelling my inner Beth Dutton, I styled these pieces with a slip dress to make it a little more chic and a little less country. This is one of those instances where the accessories make the look. I’ve worn this dress before with completely different accessories (see here). This is a completely different look with just an addition of the Western Wind collection, some booties and a denim jacket.
Avon Western Wind Jewelry and a few old pieces to mix in!
Western Wind Vibes
Late Summer Look
I know that its only July and too hot for booties but this is a good late August/Sept look but can wear some sandals with this until then. Plus this necklace is all one piece so it is super easy to wear and layered. I layered a few of my own pieces like a turquoise ring and some silver bangles to beef it up. Wouldn’t a felt hat be a good addition too esp come fall!?
Layered Necklace and Silver Jewelry on a LBD
I am certainly one who likes different styles depending on my mood. With the return of Yellowstone I’ve been definitley loving the chic vibes on the show. A little new jewelry is the perfect way to embrace the trend and refresh and old dress.
What is this? A video? Who even am I these days!? Either way I have a rather large unboxing video of all the goodies from Avon Campaign 17 2020. If you would like a book leave a comment and I’ll get one out to you… and of course with a few samples 😉
I hope everyone’s July 4th was sparkling! Week O’Nautical was in full sail last week over on FB/IG but its sailing on here over on ze blog and the sails are candy painted! I took everyone’s favorite yellow dress and week o’nautical’ed it with some candy colors.
Avon Ribbed Faux Wrap Dress
The Avon Ribbed Faux Wrap Dress has been a hot item for summer. It looks good on every shape and size, has on-trend ribbing in a light-weight fabric perfect for hot heat and its only $36! The summer fun yellow color is stunning on its own but I wanted to make it even more fun with some candy colors.
I paired this dress with a light blue and white striped button down from Old Navy. It had vibes of the boardwalk and cotton candy so I thought why not add in even more with the Avon Statement Stones jewelry collection. The pastel stones were the perfect candy colored adornment to top it all off.
Avon Statement Stones Collection
Not sure if you noticed but wrap up sandals are pretty hot for summer! I picked up this white pair from Shoedazzle. They actually have a pretty small heel so they are actually really wearable. I’m still on the hunt for a nude pair that I love, maybe a taller heel or even a flat, but I’m a sucker for anything that wraps around the ankle.
Ankle Wrap Sandals for Summer
I totally am getting boardwalk vibes with this look. Now I just funnel cake, cotton candy and a corn dog! I really like the idea of tying a button down over a dress for a totally different look on a simple summer dress. I can see this blue and white striped top layered a number of items in my closet, and vice vesra, I can see layering a lot of different options with this dress. Even as we tranisiton into fall, this dress would be adorable with warm colors anchored with blacks instead of whites.
Layering a button down over a summer dress.
You can shop the Avon Ribbed Faux Wrap Dress and the Avon Statement Stones jewelry collection over at my eBoutique. This dress is one of those versatile pieces you’ll find yourself reaching for again and again, its just so easy to wear. Believe me when I say it flatters pretty much everyone!
Are you a silver or a gold person!? Just like everything else, it depends on my mood and what vibe I’m going for, but overall I’m both. I tend to lean towards silver more often… its cool and chic, just like today’s Week O’Nautical OOTD! Week O’Nautical = Counting down to the holiday weekend wearing anything that fits into the red white and blue theme with a loosely nautical feel, key word being loosely.
Pencil Skirt for today’s WoN OOTD
I knew I wanted to wear this red pencil skirt to work today (Express, old). It’s the perfect summer red and really since I’ve been back to the office I really haven’t worn my pencil skirts. It has this silver disc detailing at the belt and that’s what insipred me to carry that cool silver throughout.
Avon Summer Statement Metal Jewelry in Silver
I just got this Avon Summer Statements Stretch Bracelet (that I can’t stop wearing!) but it has the same hammered disc details that the skirt has so I was like, yep, wearing that. Also released with the bracelet as part of our summer fashion release, are these Avon Summer Statements Hoop Earrings, that I’m also wearing non-stop! Both of these go with EVERYTHING and they do come in both silver and gold… I, of course, got them in both tones. When something is so classic, versatile and on trend you just have to go for both!
Matching Silver Hammered Metal Details
What also stood out to me was this old mark. ring with silver and turquoise, so I had to wear it today too. But what top could pull these all together, a ruffled chambray top! Cool, chic, layed back, and maybe a little fitting to watch Yellowstone that’s saved on my DVR later.
Cool and Chic
You know what else is cool and chic… my summer bag! I’m obsessed. This Dooney and Bourke Wayfarer Nylon Tote with Accessories from QVC. It is the perfect summer work bag, perfect! The Italian nylon is so lightweight and easy to care for, the tan handles make it casual for summer and the red detailing on the zipper… swoon!
Ultimate Summer Work Bag
I’m digging my look today. I haven’t been too excited about outfits lately, and this one is changing my mind. It feels more like me, it has a theme, and its cool and chic.
Well 2020 has been, uh, fun… so far. I’m glad to welcome in summer though as today is the first day of Summer!!! Not sure if I’ll get to do all my fav summer activities or take any summer trips but I do know there will be hot weather regardless! And one thing I have learned is how to battle the hot 100 degree days we get here in Nor Cal, and that’s with a summer dress!
Bold and Bright for Summer
Dressing Up A Day Dress
Summer dresses have to be easy to wear, a one and done item that is super versatile! The Avon Tie-Dye Swing dress is exactly that. Super fun summer colors with orange, coral, pink, white on a super easy to wear swing style, aka won’t stick and cling to you. It is a very lightweight fabric, like a slinky t-shirt kind of feel.
Avon Tie Dye Swing Dress
Tie Dye Trend In A Summer Dress
This dress is SO versatile. I mean its handsdown the perfect dress to pop over a swim suit as a cover up but it can also be worn as a darling day dress or for a hot summer night dinning al fresca!
Avon Raffia Jewerly Collection
For the first day of summer I punched it up with even more color adding a coral denim jacket (Old Navy, old) coral heels (Shoedazzle) and coral jewelry (that same Avon Raffia Collection I’ve worn in my last 3 posts… obiv obsessed). If you couldn’t tell I’ve also been color crushing on coral.

Anyone else gone back to work after working from home for months? Its a transition right!? I could not figure out what to wear, nothing looked good on me or fit quite right (quarantine 15 is real folks)! As much as I love my structured work wear pieces I haven’t been in that mindset for months. Then I realized why don’t I just dress up my comfy casual pieces for my RTW wear!
Styling Tee Shirts for Work
All my spring purchases were casual pieces, like this Avon Multi Stripe Tee Pack – 4 easy to wear pocket t-shirts for $34.99. These are my favorite tee shirts! I get them every season they release them. They’re also easily dressed up for work! I’ve worn them here on the blog MANY of times… like here. For today’s look I’m wearing the tan tee from the Multi Stripe Tee Pack.
Black and Tan
Black and Tan is more than an Yeuling beer… its a great color pairing! I paired my tan tee with a black knit skirt (also no stranger to the blog see here). Both are more casual pieces but the color pairing is a little more sophisticated for work.
Dressing up a tee with Chandelier Earrings and Beaded Bracelets
Remixing my Rafia Jewelry
Since I’ve been LIVING in my raffia jewelry from Avon, I thought I’d play it up a little differently with these chandelier earrings and beaded bracelets that have similar tones as raffia necklace and bracelet. The combination was perfect! Neutral and relaxed but a little glam and dressy to finish out my look. (Earrings and bracelets launch June 23rd at http://www.youravon.com/aliciahessinger)
Neutral and Relaxed
It’s also in the 90’s today so having something comfortable and breathable to wear to work is a must. I definitely will wear this look again, and again, and again! You know what else I’m loving, the new Senses line from Avon. The bath and body line got a major glow up with new and improved formulas, packaging, and scents! This Cozy Vanilla & Coconut scent not only matches my outfit but is scrumptious! I need a good lotion especially this time of year and these guys did not dissapoint.
Happy Memorial Day!!! Raise your hand if you’ve ever worn an Old Navy flag t-shirt… I mean if you havne’t at least at some point in your life I’m not sure we are on the same level. Old Navy has kinda been my go-to for my patriotic pieces over the years. I may not be buying those $5 flag tee’s but I have def found some really fun pieces, including today’s look… head to toe Old Navy.
The key takeaways are yellow and the US flag, which we have! I saw this denim jacket with a flag screen print on the back and was like I NEED THAT. Then I saw that my favorite linen pants came in yellow this year and I was like I NEED THAT. THENNNNN I saw they had a tank with a built in shelf bra in a raceback ribbed style and I was like I NEED THAT. Lucky for me those 3 pieces came together to be one killer Week O’Nautical look!
Yellow Linen Pants and ON Classic Flip Flop in Gold
Beach Glass Necklace, Natutical Watch, Red Lip!
You can’t have an Old Navy look without a pair of Old Navy flip flops! Even if you don’t get them on the $1 sale these $3 flip flops in a gold tone are perfect spring/summer staple. I love these things for the lake, taking the garbage out, running an errand… etc… I have them in so many colors.
