So my all time, hands down, absolute favorite Essie collection is the resort 2010 collection. Small and only 4 shades, but I constantly reach for them when spring and summer come around. I just took off Playa Del Platinum from the collection, the greige shade that wears clean. I’ve already highlighted Turquoise & Caicos here and here! So I was inspired by the pretty sea water shades of this collection. It was rainy and gray here on Monday, and it was a Monday… so I wanted something that transported me to a resort state of mind. Enter in Essie:

My hand looks really red, but regardless I used Essie Turquoise & Caicos with my accent nail in Lapis of Luxury. I used Essie’s Shine Of The Times Luxeffects topcoat on my ring and as a french tips. As always I used Essie’s Good To Go Topcoat and All In One Base. Using Shine Of The Times over these hues really makes them glimmer and shimmer like sea water reflecting the morning sun.

I’m typically shy away from greens and blues because I think they look kinda gaudy on my long nails but for some reason this collection’s sea worthy hues don’t look so bad! I think its because they’re soft, jelly like and just plain old pretty. I look down and smile at my finger tips and isn’t that what it’s all about anyway, whatever makes you happy.

These colors are great alone and dry with a shine even before topcoat. If you don’t own these shades I HIGHLY recommend them. Plus with names like Turquoise and Caicos and Lapis of Luxury how can you not be instantly transported to those beautiful islands at a luxury resort sipping a beverage with a little umbrella in it, staring at beautiful blue and green waters… yes this is where my mind wants to be, even if it is only reality on my nails.
