Twinkling lights, shiny packages, glowing fires and glimmering ornaments, this time of year does nothing but sparkle!  So let’s match the season and sparkle a little more, and I’ll take any reason to sparkle a little bit more!  Jill from My Sweet Obsessions and I have a few tips on how to add some sparkle to your holiday looks.

1.  Pick A Statement Sparkle Piece.

This is the time of year where you can get away with going mega on the sparkle so why not go big or go home!   Bust out a sequin dress, sequin leggings or pick a statement sparkle piece like the mark. Chain Reaction Necklace ($50) which is nothing but major! (said like RZ).  With four rows of rhinestones outlined in a gunmetal chain in a deep Y design, this necklace has that IT factor.

 

2.  Showcase your sparkle piece with your outfit.

You’ll want to showcase that sparkle so pick an outfit that highlights.  With my sparkle piece, the mark. Chain Reaction Necklace, a wrap style LBD showcases the necklace.  With the Y shape a deep V or a wrap neckline is best.  Keeping my outfit simple in all black the major focus is on the necklace.  My dress is an old closet favorite but match it with the mark. 3.  Choose some compatible sparkle.

Don’t stop at just the mark. Chain Reaction Necklace (even though by itself it would be killer!).  Pick a compatible piece like a sparkly cocktail ring and/or bracelet.  Try the mark. 4.  Balance it out with an all-over solid color

Will all the sparkle going on you’ll want to keep a solid base going.  I’m obviously a fan of black for the obvious reasons, but you could do the same with pretty much any solid color like with a winter white or a festive red.  I kept the look sleek with adding some black tights to my black dress.  Since it’s all about the sparkle lets go with the an opaque tight with a little sparkle graphic print down the leg for a little more holiday sparkle.  The mark. 5.  Add more sparkle.

Just when you think you’ve got your look ready, add more sparkle!  This is the time of year not to shy away.  This is really the season where wearing a sparkle headband, with the a majorly sparkly statement necklace, with a blinged out cocktail ring, with a subtle shimmery tight and embellished pumps is perfectly acceptable.  This mark.
