God Save The Queen

God Save The Queen

God Save The Queen

I have 5 ways to save the queen… and by save the queen I mean wear this on-trend graphic tee! This mark. God Save the Queen tee features a stretchy semi fitted heather grey tee with black embellished Queen silhouette.  For Wear and Share Wednesday here’s 5 ways we’re wearing this tee!

1. Casual Chic with Millennial Pink

Word Yo! My look in the tee

Alicia Saves The Queen!

For a casual chic look that works on warmer days I paired the tee with a casual lace up skirt in millennial pink (Express) and some embelished slides Express).  I also added my favorite statement earrings the Avon Cafe Chic Tassel Earrings.

2.  Jeans and a Tee

Sheray Saves The Queen

Sheray Saves The Queen

Sheray’s jeans and tee look is way more fun with the embellishment on this tee and her funky Avon Modern Geo Statement Necklace.  I just LOVE the pairing for a fun take on the oh so easy to wear, jeans and tee combo.

3.  Boots and Denim Jacket

Ann Save's The Queen

Ann Saves The Queen

Ann sports every girl’s fall uniform, boots and a denim jacket.  Pairing this combo over the God Save the Queen Tee keeps you seasonal and functional.  Also currently available, her jacket:  mark. Nomad Denim Jacket;  and boots:  Avon Cushion Walk Buckled Riding Boot

4.  Casually Glam

Natasha Saves The Queen

Natasha Saves The Queen

Natasha casually glams up her tee with a pair of statement earrings (mark. Primrose Pearl Dangle Earrings) and a glam red lip!  Just like Natasha, this look is so casually glam, and mega wearable!

5.  Back In Black

Nevonda Saves The Queen

Nevonda Saves The Queen

Nevonda channels her dark queen by pairing it with all black.  Black jeans, black boots, black tote all with a little interest to make things, well, interesting.

Yaassss Queen*

*note I hate that phrase but oh so fitting and trendy, you know, like this trendy fitted t-shirt…

First Monday of Fall

First Monday of Fall

First Monday of Fall

Today is the first official Monday of fall. It’s also Mani Monday, Makeup Monday, Man Crush Monday, and Meatless Monday. So that means today is Fall Mani Monday, Fall Makeup Monday, Fall Man Crush Monday and Fall Meatless Monday… right?

Mani Monday: Avon Gel 7 in 1 Polish in Glimmer

Mani Monday: Avon Gel 7 in 1 Polish in Glimmer

Mani Monday:  This weekend I had an exciting Sat night staying in and binging Marriage at First Sight by myself. Yep, you heard.  So I figured I might as well do my nails.  I wanted a fall-ish shade that would still go with my hot weather outfits.  Avon Gel Finish 7 in 1 Nail Polish in Glimmer.  (last seen here)  It’s more of a bronzy gold so fitting for the fall harvests!

Fall Lip Of The Week: mark. All Butter Now Lip Treat in Marvelous

Fall Lip Of The Week: mark. All Butter Now Lip Treat in Marvelous

Makeup Monday:  Today I pulled out my mark. All Butter Now Lip Treat in Mauvelous and I’m just loving it as my everyday fall lip shade.  It’s super on trend and really goes with the fall vibes, and also so comfortable to wear.

Fall Wedding Vibes

Fall Wedding Vibes

Man Crush Monday:  Man crush everyday is the husband, but fall is his jam.  He’s an October baby, our anniversary is in Oct and we’re about to take a little fall holiday vaca to Universal Studios so let’s get excited!

Free Espira Energy

Free Espira Energy

Meatless Monday:  On the menu today, cabbage soup! (I use this recipe)  I’m trying to get things more aligned as I have to start wearing pants again.  (oooh summer dresses I’m going to miss you…).  This week I prepped cabbage soup for a little crash diet along with fresh fruits, fresh veggies, whole foods and the boost system from Espira.  Which is currently on promotion with a FREE bottle of Espira Natural Energy with any $40 Espira purchase at www.youravon.com/aliciahessinger

Either way I’m welcoming fall as a time to refresh and revive.  It may still be 93 degrees out today, but Hello Fall!

Meet Mademoiselle Mistie

Meet Mademoiselle Mistie!  She’s the darling face of the real representatives you see on the cover of the Avon Brochure and modeling our Fall For Paris collection.  I first “met” Mistie in the bloggersphere as a fellow WordPress blogger stalking and liking each others posts.  You can follow her blog, Mistie’s Musing’s, here!  Mistie has a keen sense of style since day one, which you can see if you follow her live vids, etc… I’m always getting ideas from her, especially as a fellow hot weather resident she gives great reviews!  That is why its no surprise I asked her for a little commentary on the Fall For Paris fashion collection she so exclusively got to be a part of.

Meet Madelmoiselle Mistie

On her favorite look from the collection:  “When I very 1st got to the shoot they put me in this outfit and I absolutely fell in love with it! I’m a big lover of graphic tees and this one super comfy & super chic! Unfortunately I wasn’t photographed in it, but Julie was and it looks amazing on her!!”

Meet Mademoiselle Heather

Meet Mademoiselle Heather

Meet Mademoiselle Heather

Bonjour Monsieur, Bonjour Mademoiselle!  Meet Mademoiselle Heather!  I was first introduced to her via her IG by fellow friendly face, Erica.  Back then it was full of pictures of nachos with a few Avon and mark. items thrown in, now it has way more selfies than nachos, but someone who likes nachos and selfies is worth getting to know!  Heather is a fellow Avon Lady from Oregon, who’s wit shines through her social media and blog (Hopelessly Heather).  Heather represents her lady like side with her real life reviews of fashion and more importantly on a ton of jewelry!  Which is why I wanted to bring in the jewelry expert to share her take on the new jewelry from the Fall For Paris collection from Avon, and she did not disappoint!

Meet Mademoiselle Heather

What would you do if you won an entire collection of Paris inspired jewelry? Have a fashion shoot, right?! Throw on your scarves and hold on to your berets while I take you along a bit of my fashion shoot of Avon’s Fall for Paris jewelry line…and some of their clothing!

1: A classic Parisian look featuring the Mila Dress accessorized with the Choker Necklace and Stud Earring Trio (I picked the clusters) from the Diamondesque line and Gunmetal Coil Bracelet from the Contemporary Beads Collection. The dress is a beautiful herringbone tweed in a neutral grey with an adorable ruffle along the hem – a very feminine, but not girly, touch. What I love most about this dress is its flexibility to dress it up for a night out or sensibly for work and just about any other occasion you can imagine. Accessories alone set the tone for this piece

2. For several days before this fashion shoot, I repeatedly dreamt about one specific shot – and this is it!

3. This structured LBD is in a deliciously thick ponté fabric that looks summery, but is definitely built for fall! If you’re into the fun graphic mod look from the 60s, then the Modern Geo Collection is totally your bag! I didn’t have the heart to break up the set, so I wore the Statement Necklace, Drop Earrings and Stretch Bracelet to complete the overall look.

4. Still in the LBD from above but I swapped out the jewelry pieces and opted instead for the Maroon Necklace (minus the earrings from the set) and Metro Maroon Watch from the Contemporary Beads Collection as well as the Goldtone Stud Earrings from the Celestial Spirits Collection. It’s impossible to showcase in a photo just how sparkly the necklace is – such a stunning piece!

5. Still in the LBD from above with the skinny rectangles from the Diamondesque Stud Earring Trio and the Pearly Parisian Collection Fringe Necklace that I looped around my neck to give it a layered look – one of my favorite tricks to shorten a long necklace and quasi-satisfy my longtime lust for chokers.

6. I switched things up with the super shimmery Madeline Asymmetrical Tee – a thin (but not sheer) fabric that’s a perfect weight for the end of summer! This tee looks like a party but feels like a comfy night in – the best of both worlds! The Gunmetal Contemporary Beads Collection Necklace (again, minus the matching earrings from the set) and Hoop Earrings from the Diamondesque Collection finish off the look by adding more glitz to the mix!

7. Still in the tee from above I went a completely different direction with the Pearly Parisian Collection Fringe Bracelet and Celestial Spirits Drop Earrings – this look screams New Orleans French Quarter to me…all I need is a crystal ball or tarot cards to complete the picture! All kidding aside, the most surprising jewelry piece I received were these earrings – they are so much more amazing in person than the stock photo in the brochure gives them credit for!

8. Still in the tee from #6 above I stuck to the Celestial Spirits Collection showing off its Orbit Pendant Necklace and Goldtone Stud Earrings (again).

9. I opted to put two showstoppers together for this look because I just had to find an excuse to break out the leopard print Kamila Coat! This piece is probably the piece I’m most excited about owning – I’m chomping at the bit to be able to wear this for real…it’s a surprisingly heavy coat! Dangling from my ears are the Pearly Parisian Collection Fringe Earrings – an early favorite of mine that deserves to be showcased without a competing necklace!

10. The Modern Geo Collection: Statement Necklace, Drop Earrings and Stretch Bracelet

11. Diamondesque Collection Necklace and Earring Set

12. Celestial Spirits Collection: Moon Pendant Necklace and Drop Earrings

13. Deep Red Autumn Romance Collection: Pendant Necklace, Stud Earrings and Drop Earrings; Celestial Spirits Collection: Orbit Pendant Necklace, Goldtone Stud Earrings and Black Locket; Modern Geo Collection Linear Earrings; Maroon Contemporary Beads Collection: Necklace (earrings from the set not pictured) and Metro Maroon Watch

14. Diamondesque Collection: Hoop Earrings and Flex Bracelet; Café Chic Collection Tassel Statement Earrings; Pearly Parisian Collection Fringe Necklace; Gunmetal Contemporary Beads Collection: Necklace (earrings from the set not pictured) Coil Bracelet and Modern Mesh Strap Watch

15. Café Chic Collection: Long Tassel Necklace and Drop Earrings

16. Pearly Parisian Collection: Statement Necklace, Fringe Earrings and Layered Bracelet

Are you ready to visit the Eiffel Tower yet? I know I am!

– Heather

I am DEFINITELY ready to plan a trip to Paris after all of that!  A few… er a lot! of swoon worthy pieces in there.  Lucky for us are all buy one get one free right now over at the eBoutique!  The jewelry Heather featured is part of the Fall For Paris fashion and home collection, available for a limited time.  Be sure to follow Heather, and peruse a few Parisian pieces over at http://www.youravon.com/aliciahessinger

Au revoir!

Week O’Nautical: Seersucker

Week O'Nautical - Seersucker

Week O’Nautical – Seersucker

This is a late post because long weekends tend to be for RR and not blog posts.  And then short work weeks tend to be for catching up not blog posts.  Either way, Labor Day marks my California-versary so I feel I need to mention it each year!  I feel this outfit kinda represents a lot about it.

Brooks Brothers Seersucker Skirt

Brooks Brothers Seersucker Skirt

My seersucker skirt is from Brooks Brothers that I bought while I was moonlighting there.  It’s extremely east coast, classic and preppy, which represents that part of me.  I got it on mega deal because I worked at the Brooks Brothers Outlet and this was a retail piece, so that represents the champaign taste on a beer budget part of me.  Which is why I was moonlighting to begin with, fresh out of college and moved across the country, I needed more $$. Lucky for me a lot of opportunity came from that Brooks Brothers gig, including my now husband.  The skirt was too big for me when I bought it and at the time too long, I always planned to have it hemmed.  Flash forward to now when I’ve gained some weight and learned that I actually like these longer pencil skirts on me, that too represents how I’ve grown here in CA.

East Coat meets West Coast

East Coat meets West Coast

Wearing it today on LDW feels a little full circle.  I paired it with another clearance find from Express, this one shoulder eyelet top.  CA style is much more relaxed so I can wear something that bares my shoulder to work and a Brooks Brothers skirt.  So this top represents my CA side.  I also went back to my favorite ivy covered dumpster at my old office building to take these pictures which absolutely was a huge part of my CA life.

Beautiful Ivy Dumpster Backdrop

Additionally I’m wearing a few of my favorite Avon accessories, my ring, scarf, earring and fav red lipid Coral Fever (see here), which all represent another big part of my CA life and all the opportunities it brought.  Like not having to work retail hours but having a 2nd job for that champaign taste!

I may not be where I thought I’d be when I first moved here, but its been a ride for sure… and we’ll see where I go from here!

Where are we headed!?

Week O’Nautical: Sail

Week O'Nautical - Sail

Week O’Nautical – Sail

Week O’Nautical sails on, like literally with sail boats.  I’m counting down to the long Labor Day weekend with a little nautical take on patriotic red white and blue.  What is more nautical than sail boats!?  I picked this Avon Lucy Dress on clearance and it couldn’t be more perfect!

Avon Lucy Dress for Nautical Look

Avon Lucy Dress for Nautical Look

For this nautical look it pulls a little retro so that def calls for some peep toe pumps (Guess) and some nautical jewelry (Avon).  I even tied the matching print scarf (Avon) to my navy and white tote (Coach).

Week O’Nautical: Lemons

Week O'Nautical: Lemons

Week O’Nautical: Lemons

Guess what today is, National Lemon Day! And it’s Week O’Nautical…. guess that means a lemony fresh take on a nautical OOTD! I’m a huge fan of lemons, not just as food, garnish, flavor, etc but also in design and aesthetic. So today is totally a me day haha!

Currently crushing on all things yellow!

Currently crushing on all things yellow!

I’ve been obsessed with yellow lately and I don’t see that going away come fall. For late summer it’s a great color, and this linen yellow dress from Target has been a go to.  I love the fit and the ruffle sleeves are mega fun and unexpected.  I’ve worn this dress accessorized so many ways, with black accents, with colorful accents, with gold accents, and now with lemon and nautical accents!

Lemon Necklace, kinda perfect!

Lemon Earrings, kinda perfect too!

For National Lemon Day I added this lemon necklace and lemon earrings from Avon, which could not be more perfect.  To take it a little nautical I added those navy and white striped mules also from Avon (last seen here) and a navy tote (Coach) with nautical print scarf (Avon) tied to it.  Bracelets and Red Supreme lips also from Avon, watch Movado (a new birthday prezzy!)

I also wore my lemon and basil Avon Senses bath and body collection today which is an ALL TIME FAV!  And its all marked down to clearance so swoop it here:  https://www.avon.com/search/lemon?rep=aliciahessinger

Birthday Pants, Let’s Make It A Thing

When your birthday falls on a Thursday that means you celebrate all weekend long. Which also means Monday following birthday weekend is rough. For a non-milestone birthday, with last minute plans and most my family not in town it actually turned out to be quite a fun weekend. It all started with fun birthday pants! mark. Gilded Glamour Wide Leg Pants to be exact.

I opted for the gold pants for birthday OOTD because they would work for desk through dinner.  Instead of wearing the typical party dress, why not wear some party pants!?  I see these being equally as chic come holiday season and for when you want to be comfortable but fancy.  They made quite a statement without being too over the top.  I can’t tell you how many compliments I received!  Plus, I’ve seen this metallic fabric all over the place this fall as a huge trend.

Wear Now Fall Trends: Alix Skirt

Wear Now Fall Trends: Alix Pleated Skirt

I don’t do fall before September 1, but that doesn’t mean I’m not doing my adult back to school shopping.  I picked up a few pieces from the Avon Fall For Paris collection (see here) and lucky for me I selected some on trend pieces that I can wear now and wear later!

Wearing Avon Fall For Paris Collection

Wearing Avon Fall For Paris Collection

“Inspired by the streets of Paris, this latest fashion collection from Avon is perfect for fall with a color line up of roses, greys, pinks and blacks. The highly versatile pieces are designed to mix and match and will go great with pieces already in her wardrobe. These classic designs look great on everyone – just check out the pages and pages of fellow Representatives wearing the pieces in their individual style. Coordinating jewelry in this collection is available at special pricing in Campaign 19.”

Avon Alix Pleatead Skirt

Avon Alix Pleatead Skirt

The Avon Alix Pleated skirt has classic design in a gorgeous menswear inspired print that still has all the trends for fall. This skirt is lightweight, flirty and not lined so extremely wearable now. I personally have a houndstooth obsession so this was my #1 pick from the Fall For Paris collection.

Wear Now with Cobalt Blue

Wear Now with Cobalt Blue

I absolutely love a black and white print with a cobalt blue which is really nice as a late summer color pallet.  Still bright and bold but still being fresh.  I paired the Alix Pleated skirt with a cutout chocker tank from Express, bandage heels from mark., tassel earrings from Avon and a houndstooth bracelet and watch.

Houndstooth Obsessed.

Houndstooth Obsessed.

Alicia 5 years ago would never buy a pleated “long” skirt and even when I got this, I thought, should I hem this?  I short girl with curves and thick legs doesn’t seem to be the ideal candidate for this skirt BUT with the right heel can conquer the world, or the skirt.  If I can wear this skirt, so can you, that’s what I’ve found about this collection, its WAY more flattering than you’d think.

Making It My Own

Making It My Own

The Avon Alix Pleated Skirt is actually a good year round skirt.  It’s classic enough that you can pair it with the right seasonable separates for any season.  Come fall I’ll wear it with a graphic tee and booties.  (and by graphic tee I mean the upcoming Queen tee from mark.), in the winter this will look adorable with tights, tall boots and a fine gauge sweater.  In the spring I can see this with a really pretty feminine blouse and a lady like pump.  I’ll get good use out of this skirt!
