A classic trench coat is the perfect layering piece for chilly spring mornings intro work.  For spring a soft trench is not only on trend but the lighter design makes it ideal.  I just love this mark. Soft Touch Trench, it was such a great investment piece.

Navy and white always look great paired with sea-worth turquoise and coral, which is why I added those nautical accents in my fav color pairing.  And those platform sandals are so statement making they might not be considered an accent!

Lip Of The Week: Avon Perfectly Matte Coral Fever

Avon Perfectly Matte in Coral Fever

Avon Perfectly Matte in Coral Fever

Makeup Monday woke up with a fever… and the only prescription is more cowbell!  …Or a really good matte lipstick in a red coral shade that instantly brightens up a Monday.  I’ve definitely been digging these Perfectly Matte lipsticks but this red coral shade (Coral Fever) has to be a top pick from the bunch.  It’s a little more wearable than a true red and instantly brightens up the face coming off a sickness 😦  I paired it with mark. Touch and Glow in Coral for the rest of my Makeup Monday look.  I swirled all the shades together for a blush and just used the shimmering beige shade (cube 3) as an eye shadow with mark. Saved By The Gel liner and Avon Big and False masacra.  Topped it all off with this Avon Perfectly Matte Lipstick in Coral Fever.

Easy Summer Makeup with 1 Product – mark. Touch And Glow Shimmer Cube In Coral

Easy Summer Makeup With mark.

Easy Summer Makeup With mark.

Summer makeup needs to be 3 things:   1.  Easy, no one wants to spend all morning putting on layers and layers of makeup, esp in summer humidity.  2.  Fresh, an over done face just doesn’t work in the summer time, sorry it just doesn’t.  3.  Packable, with summer vacations, day trips, and just being on the go you need something transportable and isn’t going to spill or burst with elevation changes.  I found THE product that fits all these and more mark. Touch and Glow Shimmer Cubes in Coral.

mark. Touch and Glow Shimmer Cube in Coral

mark. Touch and Glow Shimmer Cube in Coral

One of mark.’s cult favorite products is it’s touch and glow shimmer cube (original, see post here).  Earlier this year they released a coral version, and honestly, I have no idea how I waited this long to pick this one up! This is the 1 product solution to your summer makeup routine.  The obvious use is to use it as a blush and/or highlighter but this killer product is one multi-tasking cream to powder wonder!

Summer Makeup Look Using ONLY mark. Touch and Glow Shimmer Cube in Coral.

For my easy summer makeup look I used the Touch and Glow Coral on my cheeks, for contouring, as eyeshadow and on my lips!  Only tools I used were my fingers and the mark. Travel Pro Brush Set.  Because it’s smaller I was able to get more control.  Here’s how I used it:

On Cheeks: I swirled all colors and applied to the apples of my cheeks using the mark. Travel Pro Blush Brush.   For contour I used my finger in shade 6 (2nd row far right shade) and went along my temples to under the cheek in a C shape.

mark. Touch and Glow Coral For Eyes

mark. Touch and Glow Coral On The Eyes

On Eyes:  I used my fingers to apply shade 2 (top row middle shade) all over from lash line to brow.  Then I used shade 3 (top row far right shade) on my inner corner and half of lid and under the lower lashes.  Lastly I used a mix of shade 1, 4 and 6 on the outer half of my lid.  I lined my eyes again using the travel pro brush set with mark. Saved By The Gel in Cool Azul from the Instant Vacation Buenos Aires Vibe Collection (see here).  Finished with Avon Super Extend Winged Out Mascara.

On Lips:  For this very on trend lip color I used shade 8 (bottom row middle shade) applied with the lip brush from the mark. Travel Pro Brush Set.  Done and done!  It’s similar finish to those matte liquid lipsticks (like from Nyx) that are super popular.  It even lasted through eating lunch!

Word Of Alicia Review on mark. Touch and Glow Shimmer Cubes in Coral:  Anything that multi-tasks this well gets two thumbs up from me.  Let me note it’s really hard to take pictures of your makeup (my eyes did not want to open!) so these were taken in the shade so the colors are a bit more vibrant in real life.  The color pay off on this is great but it isn’t a super long lasting formula.  When applied in the morning before work I had to touch up after work before meeting up for dinner, but really, that’s still pretty decent.  And I like how it has just the right amount of shimmer nothing too overwhelming and will be flattering on all skin types and tones.  I’m just mad I didn’t get this one sooner!

Week O’Nautical – Nautical Fit and Flare

Nautical Stripes On A Most Flattering Style

Nautical Stripes On A Most Flattering Style

When you think nautical you think stripes… or at least I do.  What’s a better way to beat the summer heat than in a nautical striped fit and flare dress!?  What’s great about this style is it pretty much flatters every body type and the flare skirt allows you to keep a bit cooler than a fitted pencil skirt style.  Add navy nautical stripes and you’ve got yourself a Week O’Nautical winner!

I love how even an all over striped dress is really a blank canvas.  The basic navy and white really are quite neutral so a pop of color works really well against it.  The higher neckline is a perfect base for a statement necklace.  I styled this dress with the new mark. Natural Charm Necklace.  This necklace features a genuine tiger eye which plays perfectly with my tortoise watch (Avon).

I played off those light pink stones on this necklace with a bright pink lip (Avon Color Indulgence Lip Color in Orchid Petal) and a coral clutch (mark. Fade To Fab Clutch).  Plus I love how great this clutch looked the last time I wore it with navy stripes (see here).  In addition to this great statement necklace I added a great statement ring with opal stones reminiscent of the ocean (mark. Irresistibly Iridescent Ring) — you know that nautical tie in, even if I’m the only one who gets it…

Week O’Nautical – Beach Sweater

Week O'Nautical - Beach Sweater

Week O’Nautical – Beach Sweater

I  gave in to my Week O’Nautical Wish List… hello new nautical shorts.  You know what goes great with nautical shorts during Week O’Nautical?… beach sweaters!  Memorial Day can be cool and cloudy or warm and sunny which is why pairing a beach sweater with a pair of shorts is an effective way to dress for the long weekend.

Nautical Shorts, A Beach Sweater & Coral

Nautical Shorts, A Beach Sweater & Coral

Beach sweaters are lightweight, usually with some sort of open weave and perfect for a little warmth but also keeping you a little cool.  Ideal for places like the beach when the cool breeze can hit or when the warm sun can, well, warm.  I’ve had this sweater for a while now from mark. but I just recently learned to love it.  In the spring it pairs perfectly with shorts.

Nautical look with a beach sweater and navy striped shorts.

These Old Navy shorts couldn’t be a better pairing for my nautical look with my beach sweater.  I’m so glad I got them, they’re unbelievably comfortable and as we know, #1 on my wish list.

Pairs perfectly with nautical shorts and coral ombre clutch.

Accents of coral are just the nautical pop of color I needed in my clutch and flat sandals.  Navy and white are so classic and neutral that any of your summer colors go great with them.  This ombre clutch from mark, the mark. Fade To Fab Clutch $30, is going to be in heavy rotation this summer.  It’s so fun and functional!  Slightly oversized, extra pockets and a killer summer hue!  Check the inside:

Because even in a casual outfit I need a little glam, the mark. Clear Choice Necklace adds a nice sparkle.  Paired with an arm party, graphic earrings, some sunnies and my favorite nude lip and bronzed cheek my nautical look is finalized.  I mean what’s the kick-off to summer without some brozner (mark. Caliente Glow) and some sunnies (mark. Throw Some Shade Sunglasses)!?

Hello Summer: Coral and Turquoise

Happy First Official Day Of Summer!

Happy First Official Day Of Summer!

Happy 1st official day of summer!  The longest day of the year, my absolute favorite!  I love the long warm days of summer, especially those warm summer sunsets in stunning colors.  As the light blue sky transitions to deep darkness those oranges, reds, pinks and corals just warm right through which is no surprise why coral and turquoise are one of my favorite summer color pairings.  Work it into the wardrobe with a coral shirtdress with turquoise accents!

Coral and Turquoise For Summer

Coral and Turquoise For Summer

The mark. Coral Kiss Dress ($38) is the perfect coral dress, a summer must-have in my book.  The cut is comfy and flattering and works for more conservative environments but has youthful details like a triangle cutout back, gold button details and tone on tone trim.

With such a fun color, it’s really easy to play up the fun factor with turquoise accents, most notably in the mark. Get In The Groove Handbag ($48).  And what’s more fun then turquoise chevron print bag for summer!?  I was desperately wanting to switch to a new summer bag and when I saw mark. come out with this one I knew it was the PERFECT choice.  Fun and light with its bucket bag structure and canvas body and hello chevron… and turquoise chevron at that!!!

The only thing that could make this look any more Alicia was adding a fedora… so I did.  I instantly fell in love with the neon coral band on this hat from Charming Charlie.  Finish it off the look with the mark. Hang With Me Earrings and an arm party with the mark. Glimmer and Gleam Bracelets ($28), Mighty Pretty m.Powerment bracelet ($25) and Avon Signature Boyfriend Watch and my favorite turquoise ring from the Nail This Look Set ($28) tied together with a turquoise belt.

Crazy For Coral – Part 2!

Punxsutawney Phil has declared early Spring!!!  Besides the fact that the Groundhog’s Day theme music is now playing in my head I’m right there with Phil on bringing in Spring early this year!  If you recall I already shared how I’m using coral to brighten up the face, now its time for the wardrobe.  I’m SO over heavy tweeds, bulky sweaters and everything winter so a breath of fresh spring air is just what I need!

Pop of Coral and Aqua

Pop of Coral and Aqua

First step in bringing in spring, is adding in color!  I busted out my fav tee from Target and added in the bright coral Great Shapes Necklace ($22) from mark.  It’s still jacket weather but this grey faux leather jacket definitely lightens up things from your winter wool coat, AND The Little Big Of An Edge Jacket ($49.99) is on clearance right now at http://www.youravon.com/aliciahessinger.  A metallic bag like this Always Perfect Tote from mark. lightens things up too!

Pop of coral on black

Pop of coral on black

That same coral Great Shapes Necklace ($22) really pops against a LBD.  Add the Great Shapes bracelet ($24) and you got yourself some bright baubles!  This LBD, The Modern Classic Dress ($29.99) is one of my ALL TIME favorites from mark.  It’s a 3/4th sleeve and thick jersey material so you instantly feel lighter and more spring like but its enough to keep you warm.  You know what’s even better… its on clearance too for only $29.99!!!  Also, spend $20 at my eboutique and get that killer faux ostrich bag for ONLY $25!  So that means you can get this full look the necklace, the bracelet, the dress, and bag for ONLY $100.99!  Which also qualifies you for FREE shipping at http://www.youravon.com/aliciahessinger AND a FREE Valentine’s Day Gift Bundle!  (see below)

Crazy For Coral

It’s January.  Bleck.  Everything is bleak and barren and Spring seems so far away.  However, it is a new year, and I’m ready for some change to brighten things up.  Just one look at the mark. magalog for January and you can instantly see why I’m cray cray for coral!  It instantly brightens, heightens and enlightens!

Crazy for Coral

Crazy for Coral

That cover look was created by mark. makeup artist Jamie Greenberg – who, by the way, I want to make my best friend because what I can gather by way of the world wide web haha she seems like the coolest girl ever!  Check out her YouTube channel and see what  I mean!  Jamie highlighted the face with pops of coral that really work for this time of year when you need a little color.  Blush is really your best friend in January!

Inspired, I decided to recreate the mark. magalog 1 cover look on myself!

Nail Trend: Mixed Media Nails

Alicia 10 years ago, heck!  even 5 years ago would NEVER wear different nail colors on different nails!  Jigga what!!!  Def would of considered it tacky and gaudy…esp on my long nails.  Let alone multiple colors, patterns, textures, etc…  Let’s just say times, they are a changing because this girl now feels boring with a regular old mani.  I’ve been rocking the accent nail pretty heavily for the past year now and since my nail-spiration pinterest I’ve been inspired to create mani-pieces (mani + masterpieces).  And I have to say, these are way more fun!

For the mixed media nail trend you coordinate mixing color, texture and prints.  Basically, the options are endless!  Play around with which fingers get which color/texture/print but the one rule is more than one nail has to be different.  (if its only one nail, then its an accent nail!)

Mixed Media Nails... Coral, Graphite Glitter and Houndstooth

Mixed Media Nails… Coral, Graphite Glitter and Houndstooth

This was my first attempt, and let me say, at first I didn’t like it.  I thought I looked weird, like I forgot to take off some old polish or was testing out new polish on only a few fingers…  However after a few days I loved it!  So fun, and everytime I looked down at my hands I smiled.  And really, that’s the real reason I paint my nails, because it makes me happy!

For this mixed media mani I used Essie Camera from their Spring 2012 collection on my thumb, pointer and pinky.  For the graphite opaque glitter I used a favorite from China Glaze’s holiday 2011 collection Tinsel Town.  (warning:  as beautiful as it is, this shade chips off like a mo fo).  Finally for my favorite nail, the houndstooth nail!  I used a black base of Maybelline Onyx Rush stamped with konad plate M63 and white Konad polish, all finished off with Essie’s Good To Go Topcoat.  Of course that ring is mark.  I love turquoise and coral together and this was no exception!  You can get the Pretty Stellar ring for yourself at me e.boutique at http://ahessinger.mymarkstore.com

My most recent attempt got compliments galore!  I used my newest additions to my nail collection including my July Julep maven box.  I decided to break down and get a 2nd box because July’s box included a FREE bottle of America and red white and blue glitter with silver stars.  Ummm YES!  Had to have that!  So I got my bombshell selection including the free America glitter plus a pearly white and purple glitter.  To learn more about getting your own Julep maven box click here!

Mixed Media Mani: White, Purple, Glitter & Metallics!

Mixed Media Mani: White, Purple, Glitter & Metallics!

The other newest addition to my collection is the newly released Essie Summer Metallics in Nothing Else Metals a metallic lilac used on my pointer and middle!  Which I love love love!  I also picked up Penny Talk, a rose gold but that’s a later post :).  For this mani I used Julep’s Kate on my thumb, ring and pinky with Julep’s Chelsea as a gradient on my ring.  I really loved how this mani stood out but wasn’t loud.  And look how chic it looks with black and white and my new favorite ring pairings!  The chevron rings are a set of 3 currently at Target for $7.99 and that KILLER mega black cocktail ring is once again of course mark!  The Black Facet Ring has been my go to lately with the old hollywood flare in the big black stone but keeping it modern with the shinny silver, plus its large and in charge but super wearable.  Get it now for $16 at http://ahessinger.mymarkstore.com

Are you daring enough to go out of the lines and rock a mixed media mani????

Week O’Nautical – White As A Sail

With the 4th falling on a Wednesday it really makes working on a Tuesday tough!  Helping me get through it is my Tuesday nautical look that pulls double duty!  A crisp lwd for work translating into play for some pre-4th activities.

Taking a LWD Nautical

Taking a LWD Nautical

This little white dress is a stiff cotton, somewhat reminiscent of a sail to me, which makes it automatically nautical.  It’s old from BeBe but you can recreate the look with a white full skirt and a white scoop neck tee tied off with a satin ribbon as a belt.  Then finish it off with nautical accessories!  You know how i mentioned I got that rope necklace in blue too in yesterday’s post, well here it is!  Doesn’t it just make this outfit nautical!  My other accessories include my new FAVORITE bag, the For Shore Bag from mark.  Its huge but lays well and perfect for summer in white with shiny gold accents, which also add to my nautical feel.  Also from mark. there’s of course my go to Borrowed From The Boys watch, Pretty Stellar Ring and Heat Wave Hoops (blue pair).  The shell bracelet is old from Cookie Lee.  This is one of those times I wish my patent red peeptoe pumps weren’t in desperate need of the cobbler, so instead I wore my light grey peeptoes with bright red toes by Essie in Too Too Hot!  The perfect summer red from last years summer collection by Essie.

You can actually see my earrings here, which can I say, these Heat Wave Hoops Set from mark. have been my summer go to!  They make a t-shirt and shorts instantly put together!  My camera isn’t great for representing my makeup look but went with bronzy cheeks, navy eyes and coral lips!

For face I used Bronze Pro and Touch and Glow Shimmer Cubes from mark.

For my eyes I used the Mini Mark. It Stick in Pink Opal from mark. as my base.  In my crease I used a matte navy shade from Revlon… BUT mark. is coming out with a whole slew of new i-mark shades including a matte navy!  Starting July 13th you’ll be able to get them early through me… so stay tuned!  I then lined my upper lashes with No Place To Run in Indigo followed with a thin line of liquid liner, Get In Line in Painted Black.  Curled my lashes with the mark. eyelash curler and Lash All You Want mascara.

For my lips I used Glow Baby Blow hook up lipgloss in m.powerment peach, which is currently on clearance at my eboutique for only $1.99!!!
