Now that the hustle and bustle of the holiday season is behind us, January is set to easy mode. Time to reload and refresh. The new year brings its own set of challenges but getting ready doesn’t have to be one of them. Especially during these back to work weeks post holidays… ugh. As we get back to the grind I needed to make things easy.

Easy January Outfit

Easy January Outfit

I picked up a few easy, go with everything pieces from the new Avon Go Easy Capsule collection, including this 4 pack Tee Shirt set, go with everything lucite earrings and a winter soft colored handbag to switch out of my holiday bag.  All these items are go-with-everything kind of pieces that make getting ready super easy.

For my easy back to work look I paired the cream tee with some pinstripe pull on pants (Express) and a lilac cardigan (Target and on Clearance).  Super comfortable and casual but still put together, easy for transitioning back to work.  To make things even easier I wore my flat riding boots (DSW but these ones from the collection are getting FAB reviews).

For jewelry lately I’ve been reaching for super simple go with everything easy pieces.  These Avon Modern Shapes Earrings are still interesting but so easy to wear, and look great paired with my go-to Cosmic Constellation Necklace (in Leo) and friendship bracelet (in and out of the eBoutique).

Word of Alicia:  I’m kinda over the moon about these Avon Modern Zen tee’s.  They come in 4 must have shades, cream, black, navy and slate purple which are super cool and on trend.  Excellent layering pieces with a longer line so you can wear them a lot of ways.  They can be dressed up or down or even for the gym.  Just something WELL worth your money.  I’m also over the moon about the Cosmic Constellation Necklace, it seriously is my everyday and just SO PRETTY.  Can layer it with other necklaces or wear a lone, can be casual, business, fun, you name it.  Definitely easy pieces and work with my look and will work with so many looks, so good they needed and extra call out.

Mani Monday: Icy

It’s just another mani Monday. I wish it were Sunday, because that’s my funday… so far this mani is the only thing good about this January Monday.  Today my January nails are still wintery but lighten up a bit with icy shades.

Icy Mixed Mani With Jamberry and mark.

Icy Mixed Mani With Jamberry and mark.

For this week’s mani I used 2 Jamberry wraps, Iced (the mint and silver) and my December hostess exclusive wrap (grey floral) with an accent nail in mark. Nailed It Duo in Eggnog.

I could not be more please with the application of these Jamberry wraps.  I used the baggie method but I really think even without it they still would of went on flawless.  The new gel finish to the mark. Nailed It‘s are in that same flawless boat (last seen here and here).  Which made my Sunday a super funday doing this mani while watching NFL playoffs and UFC fights!

Avon Dazzlers Top Coat over Essie Cocktail Bling

Since I’ve been digging the January Trends it’s only fitting to have a January mani to match!  Winter nails shades aren’t just your go-to dark shades but also grays, blues, blushes, and mauves.  I think of the winter sky lightening up; chilly and pretty.  Which is why I think the pairing of Avon Dazzlers Top Coat in Disco Ball over Essie Cocktail Bling is the perfect pairing for some January nails.

A blustery winter day is no problem when dressed for success!  Following the trends for January (as seen here) and adding my new must-haves for the new year (as seen here) definitely avoids the winter doldrums!

Start with a base in wintery icy hues!

Cobalt Blue and Black for January

Cobalt Blue and Black for January

Just like in my January trends post cobalt blue is a major color for January.  I anchored my cobalt blue pant (mark., old) with the new mark. Effortless Edge Sweatshirt in black.  You might remember my love for the oatmeal version here, but due to popularity it’s back in black!  Let me tell you, a chic sweatshirt is a great investment for January.

Layer it up!

Layers for January

Layers for January

The key to any winter outfit is layers!  I layered my mark. Effortless Edge Sweatshirt with a faux leather jacket (mark., old in and out of clearance) and a oversized black scarf.  On my feet I layered some fun thick socks with my fold over lace up boots (Tilly’s).

Winter Accessories!

The most important accessory in January: gloves!   I’m loving the mark. Trendsetter fingerless gloves with the knit base and quilted faux leather tops.  They’re not only cute but functional and super easy to wear and keep warm.  Even though my scarf hides it, a little winter glam is a must with the mark. Twice As Nice necklace.  I like that the double v shape plays up with the zipper detailing of the mark. Effortless Edge Sweatshirt.

Obsession piece!

mark. Style On The Run Bag

mark. Style On The Run Bag

My latest obsession is my new mark. Style On The Run Tote.  I get a little happy every time I get to leave the house just knowing I get to pick this beauty up and carry it around.  I like it for a January bag (and beyond) with it’s structured shape and gorgeous faux-grained-leather body it goes from work to play effortlessly.  AND it has a matching pop out case that works for your tablet or your phone or whatever you want to store in there.  Could even double up as a clutch!  If you haven’t caught on I’m obsessed, like seriously obsessed.  Plus, I think the new year should start with a new bag, you know for that be more organized resolution we all make.

Your my obsession

With some cool cobalt and layered up essential accessories a blustery January day turned out to be a great day to fly a kite!  What are your key pieces to wear to make the most of a January day?

Graphic yet whimsical, polka dots are a perfect print for January.  You can wear them to the office or out to brunch or even in your decor.  Stick to small dots for more conservative environments larger dots for fun.

Materials:  Leather and Thick Knits

Leather and Knit

Thick chunky knits are always a must for warmth in January but layer them with the unexpected like leather or even with some polka dots!  Not really into leather pants, try a legging alternative like the mark Chic It Out pant (last seen here and now on clearance).  Also stick to leather (or faux leather) bag and boots, they will give a layer of depth and dependability!

This month I’ll be styling these trends and using my must haves for January to do it!  I guess saying hello to January isn’t so bad.  What trends are you loving for January?

New Year, New You, New Arrivals

new year, new you, new arrivals!

new year, new you, new arrivals!

New year, new you.  Regardless if you make a resolution or not January represents a fresh start!  Out with the old in with the new: new year, new you, new arrivals!  Here are my top 5 picks to start the new year off on the right foot and will still keep you within your budget (you know, for that save money resolution!).

New Bag:

Style On The Run Bag

Style On The Run Bag

A new bag for the new year is a must.  Not only does it help with the get organized resolution but it also keeps you looking chic.  Go with a basic color in a classic shape like the mark. Style On The Run Bag ($45).  This bag not only is roomy for all your essentials but it works day or night PLUS it has a removable case for your tablet, phone, etc.  This is like a designer bag for a whole lot less (like $100 less than that MK one I was stalking)

New Shoes:

Hit The Spot Flats

Hit The Spot Flats

Kick out those old run down shoes with a new pair of leopard flats, mark. Hit The Spot Flats ($38)!  Not only are they super trendy but also super classic in a pointed toe and leopard so you can wear them year round.  Quality doesn’t have to cost you, these new real leather flats from mark. are only $38!  For this new year I’m interested in going for quality over quantity which is why smart purchases like this are prefect for the new year.

Leopard flats are on point!

New Everyday Liner:

Saved By The Gel

Saved By The Gel

I wear eyeliner everyday even if I wear nothing else so having a quality liner that looks good and lasts all day is important.  The new mark. Saved By The Gel Waterproof Cream Liner ($11) is the perfect solution for the everyday.  Cream liners are less harsh than liquid but have the same lasting effect.  Plus you can smoke out a cream liner really nice for night.  Adding a fail proof product to your everyday is a must for the new year to simplify your routine.

New Accessory:

Keep It Connected Hair Pin

Keep It Connected Hair Pin

Accessories are the easiest way to add something new and fresh but keeping the cost down.  The mark. Keep It Connected Hair Pin ($14) is my pick for the new year.  There are tons of ways you can wear it, in your hair (bun like shown, or through a braid) and out (like on a bag or on a collard blouse!).  When you want to save a little time throw your hair up and dress up your tresses with this pin.

New Coat:

Close Rank Capes

Close Rank Capes

Let’s not kid ourselves, spring is months away and the winter chill is real so a new coat for the new year is a must.  Instead of going with your standard black wool jacket got with a statement making cape!  In a basic black you can still pair it with everything but you get some extra interest with the shape.  The mark. Close Rank Cape as been a top seller and you can see why at only $70!
