Meghan Markle Sparkle is Mint To Be

Meghan Markle Sparkle is Mint To Be

Meghan Markle Sparkle is Mint To Be

My wedding set is currently at the jewelers being repaired so I was in the need of a fill in, and what’s better than a design fit for a Duchess! ¬†Random Snapple fact, Duchess is my favorite royalty title, shout out to Krista in 10th grade for winning that title at Snow Ball ūüėČ ¬†Anyways… This¬†Sterling Silver CZ Triplet Ring was inspired by that Meghan Markle Sparkle so for this week, its my place holder.

Obiv my sterling silver version is a little different as hers is a gold band, and CZ’s instead of her ¬†beautiful, and I’m sure flawless, diamonds, but at $34.99 I ain’t mad at it. ¬†It gives a lot of sparkle, a lot of Meghan Markle Sparkle! ¬†This weeks mani also #nailedit with the Avon Gel Finish Nail Polish in Mint To Be.

I’m REALLY loving this pastel polish shade. ¬†I def feel it pulls more robin’s egg blue than mint but its a great spring shade and pairs really well with all the blues I’ve been wearing lately. ¬†I’ve also been a little obsessed with all things engagement/wedding, like getting an album done from mine, and getting those dumb disposable cameras finally taken care of, and then one of my fav you tubers shared her engagement which made me have all the feels, and a friend is engaged, and I’ve been binging Married At First Sight… I guess its just that spring fever!

You can shop my favorite polish, these Gel Finish polishes online at http://www.youravon.com/aliciahessinger and be sure to get your own Meghan Markle Sparkle to go along with it! ¬†You know I’ve been loving these fine jewelry releases from Avon this past year and this one takes the cake, the wedding cake! ¬†Plus, it would be cute to wear these two (ring & polish) if you’re doing the circuit of showers, weddings, events and parties or even Easter!

How To Style Spring Colors

How To Style Spring Colors

It’s already May but spring feels like it just hit. ¬†Time to lighten and brighten everything, from spring cleaning to fresh highlights to your wardrobe! ¬†Introducing spring colors into your wardrobe is a great way to lighten and brighten your look. ¬† Color not your thing? ¬†Jill from My Sweet Obsessions and I are back with our Spring Style Tips on how to wear spring colors.

1.  Pick a pastel.

Pastel Pieces for Spring

Pastel Pieces for Spring

Nothing is more springy than a spring pastel. ¬†Like I mentioned in yesterday’s post pastel blues, greens, aqua’s are huge this season but the thing with pastels is there a version of every color so there’s sure to be something you like.

If you love something you’re more inclined to wear it. ¬†I¬†absolutely fell in love with this Avon Fancy Flora Collection Earrings and Necklace! ¬†It’s retro 60’s design in spring pastel colors is right up my ally. ¬†Plus it pairs perfectly with my favorite pastel blue blouse. ¬†I just love the way this blouse fits, the color and the gold details. ¬†It’s an old find from LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s but this all over color is a lot easier to wear because I absolutely love it!

3.  Try just a pop of color.

Go with a pop of color or all over!

I’m not one to shy away from color but I do find myself wearing a lot of neutrals like black and white on the daily. ¬†That’s when just a pop of color¬†is needed and achieved with the Avon Fancy Flora Collection Earrings and Statement Necklace. ¬†The pretty pastels add just enough color to feel springy even on your most basic of basics.

Not sure what to wear your spring colors with? ¬†Try lace or crochet! ¬†Not only is it huge this year (as it was last year) but it can also be classic. ¬†I’m wearing a lace pencil skirt with my pastel blue blouse and Avon Fancy Flora Collection Jewelry for a look that’s more than appropriate for work. ¬†However, I could switch it out for some crochet shorts and be weekend ready!

Work some spring colors into your beauty routine! ¬†I lightened and brightened my look with pastel pink eyeshadows (mark. Spring Fling Eyeshadow Trio) , a flushed cheek (mark. First Blush) and orchid lip (Avon Ultimate in Orchid Petal)! ¬†(see more and the full details here). ¬†Even a fresh nail polish shade in a spring color will do the trick. ¬†I’m wearing Essie Borrowed and Blue from the Lilly Pulitzer for Target release (see more here).

“Spring is the time to get away from the darker colors of Fall/Winter and¬†add the¬†brighter colors of¬†Spring/Summer into your wardrobe. Start with¬†muted colors¬†like the mauve pink of the Dark Endings Maxi Skirt by mark.¬†It’s¬†is the perfect transition¬†color. Pair it with a printed top, simple jewelry pieces and¬†strappy¬†sandals and your good to go!” (continue reading here)

Trending Tuesday – #springcolors

If the world of alicia was the internet #springcolors would totally be trending. I’m so ready to embrace color! I’ve been sporting a lot of soft shades¬†(as seen here) but things are warming up and so should my tones! Maybe it has to do with the fact that all my spring and summer items are still in the attic so I’m working with what I have in my year round closet… but it’s time to bust out the color. Here are some trendy colors for this spring!

1. Citron

Citron for Spring

Citron for Spring

Anything from cheery lemon yellow to neon lime is in the citron category. ¬†Which means your options are good! ¬†This color is super easy to wear because all you need is a pop! ¬†Or go mega watt like may favorite look from last summer (see here). ¬†I love it paired with light grey and white but it looks good with everything from bright blue to navy to tan to black to even pink! ¬†On my wish list, this mark. Bright Inside Tote with it’s citron lining!

2.  Pastels

Pastel Blue for Spring

What spring doesn’t include pastels? ¬†This year the water colored pastels seem to be more trending so your aquamarines, periwinkle, robin egg blue, seawater green, etc. ¬†These pair really well with tans and beige’s, which a toasted almond kind of shade seems to be THE¬†neutral¬†color hot for spring.

3.  Tangerine

I think this ties right in with the citron trends, a bright citrus¬†orange with red undertones makes Tangerine a must. ¬†It looks great on pretty much every skin tone and brings out your just developing tan. ¬†Try it anchored with black for a punch of color. ¬†It’s also great in a lip shade. ¬†I’ve been sporting mark. All Butter Now Lip Treat in Coraltini. ¬†It’s definitely a super wearable tangerine lip that for only $11 you can wear the trend at a super low investment.

4. Marsala

Marsala was the Pantone color for spring 2015. ¬†I’m not huge on this shade but pair it with these other hot trending shades and it’s a great pallet! ¬†With the 90’s resurgence we can see why this mauve shade is super popular.

5.  Pineapples

Ok, ok, so pineapples aren’t a color but this graphic print is so hot right now (said like Zoolander). ¬†You’ll see this print pop up on everything to tanks to bags to dresses to flip flops! ¬†My favorite right now are these LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s flip flops in a cute pineapple print but they’re not on the website yet, I’ve only seen them in store. ¬†Ultimately I want those freaking Lilly Pulitzer for Target ones but I doubt I’ll find them returned in my size, or online for a reasonable resell price. ¬†Oh well…

Soft Pants and Soft Shades with mark. Fine Print Pants

Soft Pants and Soft Shades with mark. Fine Print Pants

No secret that I’ve been digging the soft shades trend, but the soft pants trend is a little harder. ¬†On pinterest they look like the most effortless thing out there, in real life they boarder bad Hammer pants. ¬†When mark. released these Fine Print Pants ($36) I decided to give them a try!

mark. Fine Print Pants ($36)

mark. Fine Print Pants ($36)

These soft pants are exactly that a soft, lightweight, flowy material in a loose fitting cut with a higher waist line.  The mark. Fine Print Pants have a grey and black abstract print that is fun but yet subtle making them appropriate for a lot of occasions.

When wearing soft pants you run the risk of looking like you dug out some early 90’s Hammer pants, which is why you need to pair it with the right thing on top. ¬†I went with a fitted tank (Express Bra Cami) and an open front cardi (Express Tuck Stitch Cover Up). ¬†This way, I kept the volume in the right places but still attained¬†a relaxed fit and vibe. ¬†Plus, the peach color against the grey and black pants achieves my soft shades color pallet. ¬†(Even though I totally should of wore a grey cami instead of black)

To add¬†to my relaxed¬†look a black and white tote with stud detailing with¬†the mark. In Black and White Tote ($40 but get it for $30). ¬†A tote¬†is my favorite bag shape because all at the same time it’s casual, classic and chic, and you can fit your life in it. ¬†You can get this mark. The biggest trick for pulling off these pants in in the heels! ¬†Maybe not so much if you’re tall and thin, but being short and curvy these mark. Sassy Stepper Pumps ($40) elongated my legs to pull off these pants. ¬†Can I just for a second talk about how much I love these shoes… they are my everything! ¬†Mega mega comfortable, go with basically everything and I just dig the design so much! ¬†But I digress… overall soft pants are super appealing for their comfort factor but styled with the right pieces they’re just as fashionable as they are comfortable.
