I’m totally excited to theme out the week in all things, red, white, pink, lacy and girly for Valentine’s Day this week!  So let’s start at the tips with a super easy Valentine’s Day mani!

I’ve been dying to bust out my pastels and took this week as my opportunity!  I used one of my all time favorite pinks, Essie Fiji.  It’s opaque and the perfect pastel pink.  I then dappled on the rose gold glitter, Essie A Cut Above on my tips.  Perfect pairing for Valentine’s Day and super easy to do.

You might note my Valentine’s Day gift of past, my I Love You ring from Tiffany’s.  This guy, simple and small, has been in heavy rotation as of late, guess it’s time for a cleaning.  And those cute Valentine’s Day wine glasses, they’re from The Dollar Tree!  Talk about mixing high and low!

Because Valentine’s Day is on Saturday there’s plenty of time for me to get in another v-day nail look! Especially with all the pinspiration I’ve been pinning on my Be Mine board I definitely need to do another one before the week’s up!  What look will your nails be sporting for this lovely holiday?

Mugshot Monday: Zoya Cho

Zoya Cho

Zoya Cho

A huge nail trend for late winter early spring is nude nails.  They were all over awards season on plenty of celebrities.  Most top brands released a nude in their collections, including Zoya’s full on nude collection, the natural collection, being a huge hit.  I think this time of year we like a clean, natural nail look, our transition period from the darks and glittertastics of winter and holiday but before the bright and punchy colors of summer.  Lately my current obsession has been nude nails, I’ve been wearing Zoya Cho non-stop for the past couple of weeks!

I wore it for Valentine’s Day with Julep Love layered over it and a small white heart on my ring (Essie White Out).

I wore it with gold tips using Julep Oscar to do a glitter gradient and then piling on the stackable rings from mark. (in and out of clearance at my eBoutique)

Are you down with OPP on the nude nail trend? Mugshot it up!  {then share :)}

I showed you an all out red, pink and white look to theme out your Valentine’s Day but today is 2 Valentine’s Day Mani’s styled around 1 mark. Ring Me Up Double Ring!  If going all out for Valentine’s isn’t your gig then try just doing a themed mani and pair it with one killer ring!  Go sweet and spicy all in one look!  Jackie from Living After Midnight went all sparkly with her XO mani while I went floral!

To create my abstract floral nails for Valentine’s Day I used the mark. Nail This Look It Kit ($28).  It contains two mini bottles of lacquer, one light pink (used as my base) and one dark pink (used for details).  The kit also contains one killer black and gold enamel buckle bracelet, which actually latches by the buckles so its adjustable.  Pretty much all you need to create the perfect Valentine’s Day look.

The fun ring and bracelet are the perfect pairing to my super girly mani.  The Ring Me Up Double Ring ($20) is actually more wearable than I initially thought.  Especially for a night out, like Valentine’s Date Night!

To create the floral design on my nails I used the tutorial from LaurenConrad.com for a floral mani.  I only put “leaves” on my left hand because I kinda liked them better without it.  What’s great about the mark. Nailed It mini polishes is the mini brush is perfect for small detailing like triangles and rose blobs.  I did use an old eyeliner brush to do the the swirls in the roses and the heart on my pointer (left hand only).  I think my first attempt at a floral mani was the perfect look for a Valentine’s Day mani to accompany the Ring Me Up Double Ring.  You can get both the ring and the mark. Valentine’s Day Ideas – Nails

Happy Valentine’s Day… February the 14th!  — Now when arrow’s don’t penetrate Cupid grabs the pistol — Everyone else have that Outkast song running through their head all day like me?  Def not a bad thing… neither is wearing Valentine’s Day mani’s for the last 2 weeks!

Essie Size Matters and Julep Rebel

Essie Size Matters and Julep Rebel

This was my first attempt at drawing hearts with a toothpick since I don’t have a dotting tool, and I have to say, didn’t turn out half bad… now my other hand wasn’t as successful but there’s a reason why I only take pictures of my left haha.  I used Essie’s Size Matters and Julep Rebel for this look.  Are those not appropriate names for a Valentine’s Day look!?!

Conversation Hearts Nails

Conversation Hearts Nails

For my second look I wanted to recreate the conversation hearts that are a Valentine’s Day staple!  I used the coming-soon mark nailed it set in sorbet colors (ring and pointer) and last year’s night iris nailed it set (pink on pinkie) with Essie’s Turquoise and Caicos (middle) and Nice is Nice (thumb).  I then wrote my “conversations” with a silver sharpie and topped with a topcoat!  Note to self:  don’t add topcoat until sharpie is dry (hence the drag).  I was a little bugged by the not perfect writing and spacing but overall this is a really fun mani and a reason to wear a different color on every finger, which I never do.  The new nailed it set from mark. will be launching next week at http://ahessinger.mymarkstore.com or to get it early direct message me to order.
