August is by far my favorite month of the year… it might be because I celebrate my birthday all month long!  A good friend starts the month off for her birthday and I continue it on until mine at the end of August.  This year we took a birthday day trip to Nevada Beach in South Lake Tahoe.

We originally planned to hit up Zephyr Cove however a very large wedding going on made that nearly impossible.  So went two beaches up to Nevada Beach, which was the best idea!  It’s large enough to handle a full crowd but not be on top of each other and it has a pavilion for use and access to kayak and paddle board rentals.  One thing to note it is not dog friendly.

If you’re looking for a little less action than Zephyr Cove then go immediately to Nevada Beach!  It was a great way to spend the day celebrating with friends and lucky for us to watch a really cool storm roll in!  There’s also a campground with the beach for extended beach day options!
