Can you believe this is the last week of spring!? The ‘Rona has this year all twisted and the time is just flying by. I heard the phrase “the days are long but the years are quick,” and I totally feel that way lately. As I look back, this was definitely not a typical spring. Usually its full of springy dresses, florals, and special occiasions to plan for but instead its casual comfort and things that spark joy! Today’s spring outfit is just that!
This spring, the color coral sparked a lot of joy for me. It was a punch of warm color that I was wearing in my jewelry, clothes and makeup! I added in this new coral crochet top from Target. When we were on lockdown one of the few stores open was Target and Alicia needed a little in person retail therapy so on a Target run I got this!
Spring Color Crush: Coral
I paired it with my Avon Raffia collection jewelry, which has to be on of my FAV spring purchases. I’m even more glad I’m back to work so I can wear it for more than a zoom meeting here and there. These hoop earrings are the perfect not too big not too small size. This is going to be a jewelry collection I wear all summer long! And my Avon Modern Abolone Strap Watch is another spring pick up that will be perfect all summer long.
White Flare Jeans for Spring
Lately our spring weather has been actual spring weather, some clouds, crisp breezes and in the 80s so I could actually wear pants and not die from the heat. These white jeans from Express anchor this spring look. I actually got to wear my jeans a lot during this spring as we were all living that casual life. I actually kinda liked giving my casual wardrobe some love, it felt refreshing!
You can shop the Avon jewelry at my eBoutique at http://www.youravon.com/aliciahessinger My coral makeup that you can’t really see is all from Avon too! If you are interested in some fun coral makeup that works for your skin tone, hit me up! I do personal consulations, all online! Comment on this post or DM via Facebook or Instagram and we’ll connect.
Anyone else gone back to work after working from home for months? Its a transition right!? I could not figure out what to wear, nothing looked good on me or fit quite right (quarantine 15 is real folks)! As much as I love my structured work wear pieces I haven’t been in that mindset for months. Then I realized why don’t I just dress up my comfy casual pieces for my RTW wear!
Styling Tee Shirts for Work
All my spring purchases were casual pieces, like this Avon Multi Stripe Tee Pack – 4 easy to wear pocket t-shirts for $34.99. These are my favorite tee shirts! I get them every season they release them. They’re also easily dressed up for work! I’ve worn them here on the blog MANY of times… like here. For today’s look I’m wearing the tan tee from the Multi Stripe Tee Pack.
Black and Tan
Black and Tan is more than an Yeuling beer… its a great color pairing! I paired my tan tee with a black knit skirt (also no stranger to the blog see here). Both are more casual pieces but the color pairing is a little more sophisticated for work.
Dressing up a tee with Chandelier Earrings and Beaded Bracelets
Remixing my Rafia Jewelry
Since I’ve been LIVING in my raffia jewelry from Avon, I thought I’d play it up a little differently with these chandelier earrings and beaded bracelets that have similar tones as raffia necklace and bracelet. The combination was perfect! Neutral and relaxed but a little glam and dressy to finish out my look. (Earrings and bracelets launch June 23rd at http://www.youravon.com/aliciahessinger)
Neutral and Relaxed
It’s also in the 90’s today so having something comfortable and breathable to wear to work is a must. I definitely will wear this look again, and again, and again! You know what else I’m loving, the new Senses line from Avon. The bath and body line got a major glow up with new and improved formulas, packaging, and scents! This Cozy Vanilla & Coconut scent not only matches my outfit but is scrumptious! I need a good lotion especially this time of year and these guys did not dissapoint.
Happy Memorial Day!!! Raise your hand if you’ve ever worn an Old Navy flag t-shirt… I mean if you havne’t at least at some point in your life I’m not sure we are on the same level. Old Navy has kinda been my go-to for my patriotic pieces over the years. I may not be buying those $5 flag tee’s but I have def found some really fun pieces, including today’s look… head to toe Old Navy.
The key takeaways are yellow and the US flag, which we have! I saw this denim jacket with a flag screen print on the back and was like I NEED THAT. Then I saw that my favorite linen pants came in yellow this year and I was like I NEED THAT. THENNNNN I saw they had a tank with a built in shelf bra in a raceback ribbed style and I was like I NEED THAT. Lucky for me those 3 pieces came together to be one killer Week O’Nautical look!
Yellow Linen Pants and ON Classic Flip Flop in Gold
Beach Glass Necklace, Natutical Watch, Red Lip!
You can’t have an Old Navy look without a pair of Old Navy flip flops! Even if you don’t get them on the $1 sale these $3 flip flops in a gold tone are perfect spring/summer staple. I love these things for the lake, taking the garbage out, running an errand… etc… I have them in so many colors.
Memorial Day is the unofficial kickoff to summer. It’s also the unofficial kickoff to wearing your summer whites! Nothing says summer more than a white tee and denim. The classic pairing goes Week O’Nautical… loosely… there’s a red white and blue combo in there 😉
Fresh Summer Whites
All white everything — White tee, white bag, white slides.
Eyelet Lace Sleeve White Tee
This Eyelet Lace Sleeve Tee from Express has a slight puff to its lace sleeve and its so freaking adorable and on trend. Very lightweight and the perfect length to wear untucked or tucked. I’ve been seeing this trend for spring/summer and I just love the idea of a clean white tee with these details and denim. I’ll be pairing this with jean shorts as the weather heats up.
This MDW I was supposed to be in Jamaica and Cabo but the ‘rona canceled our plans. Instead I’ll need to take and instant vacation while staying at home. Easiest way to do that is with the newest limited edition fragrance from Avon, Far Away Amalfi Coast. Scent instantly transport you, to a memory, a vibe, a feeling, etc… so the Far Away Amalfi Coast has been my go to for an instant Vacation.
Kiss of the Italian Coast
Travel to the sunny Mediterranean waterfront with Far Away Amalfi. This solar citrus-floral fragrance is infused with notes of Italian bergamot and orange flower highlighted with perennial tuberose for a kiss of the Italian coast. 1.7 fl. oz.
NOTES Italian bergamot, orange flower and coastal tuberose.
Fragrance Category Fresh & Vibrant – Fruity floral scents with exciting, lush and liberating notes.
You might remember the mark. Instant Vacation Marakesh from years past, this fragrance is a lot like that one… a lot! Especially the top notes. Out of the Avon Far Away releases this is by far my favorite. And can we talk about how pretty this bottle is, and the box! I’m such a sucker for packaging.
Week O’Nautical is ‘licia language for my way to countdown to patriotic holidays with all things red, white and blue with a nautical take. Why nautical? Because its beachy and long summer weekends should be as beachy as possible. Usually its a way to get through the work week when really you’re already checked out for the long weekend. However, 2020 threw us for a loop and instead of my wear to work posts its all about the home life this year. What hasn’t changed… manis! This May I’ve been really into blues.
Oceanic Hues from Essie
Inspired by this Blue Ombre ring from Avon in oceanic blues I couldn’t decided on which blues to do. I ended up going with Essie Lapis of Luxury with an accent nail in Borrowed & Blue. These shades are few of my oldies but goodies!
Avon Blue Ombre Ring
I really love blue mani’s for spring and summer, plus they go really well with patriotic ootd’s. I know I’ll be doing another one by the time actual MDW roles around but I can gurantee it will probably be a shade of blue.
Essie Lapis of Luxury and Borrowed & Blue
What mani is on your hand this week!?
WoN Kickoff with a WFH OOTD – Joggers and Beach Sweaters!
Late spring always has me loving the safari chic vibes… think neutrals, linen, earthy prints, textures and fabrics. Which is why I picked up a few raffia pieces to mix in to my current wardrobe for some safari chic vibes.
The Raffia collection also includes a really cute statement necklace I didn’t get but I can see being perfect with a white tee and jeans, or to dress up a summer dress for an occassion. You can shop the entire collection at my eBoutique here: https://www.avon.com/search/raffia?rep=aliciahessinger
Statement Raffia Pieces from Avon
What trends do you love for the late spring? What are you loving as we’re more home these days? This Everyday Cover Up Sweater has been my FAVORITE thing as of late. I throw this on in the morning while things are still chilly, or while I’m lounging on the couch in the evening. Its SO SOFT and just easy to wear — I already said all of this in my last post, oops. Its that good!
Everyday Cover Up My Essential Piece with Raffia Accessories!
Normally every year I get myself a new spring dress for Easter. Something springy that refreshes the wardrobe and can be used for all those spring occassions like showers, events, etc… Since this in an un-normal Easter/spring/forever I won’t be going to Easter service but I still got the dress! Retail therapy right!?
Avon Metalic Lace Shift Dress
I had this picked out way before we went into a state of shelter in place, so I figured I’d share anyways, beacuse we will emerge eventually. Wear and Share Wednesday is what I would of wore to a normal Easter service followed by brunch. Wearing the Metalic Lace Shift Dress and Statement Stones Jewelry Collection all from Avon.
Avon Statement Stones Jewelry Collection
Maybe its because I’ve beeing binging season 3 of The Crown but the gray lace dress and statement jewels kinda had me feeling like high tea. I really like how this dress is a little longer so it will work year round becuase who knows when I’ll actually be able to wear a dress again and feel appropriatenly dressed. A gray lace dress accented with pastels works well for the spring but I can see it looking just as chic with white pumps and bag come summer. For fall I’d pair it with navy and burgundy and a red blazer for the winter holiday season!
This Avon dress launches April 14 but the jewelry is available now at http://www.youravon.com/aliciahessinger. For this un-normal Easter I’ll probably just wear a white sweater and lavender cords for a more casual Easter OOTD. I WILL however, be still coloring eggs, making Easter basekts for my family and husband and making a delicious meal served on my hardly used fine china.
Well, this shelter in place/work from home lifestyle doesn’t really mix with my business casual wardrobe. However, it does allow me to reintroduce myself to my jeans and tees. I picked up a few new casual pieces from Avon that will mix and match with my wardrobe, including this striped tee from Avon.
White Jeans, Striped Tee, Red Cardi
The Avon 3/4th Sleeve Lace Front Top is only $29.99 and comes in 4 colors. I went with the black and white stripe. I love that this has a relaxed fit, 3/4th sleeve and some lace front detailing to give it a little something. This top looks good with jeans and cardi but also with leggings and top knot! PERFECT for shelter in place/wfh.
Avon 3/4th Sleeve Lace Up Top
I paired this with my white jeans and a red cardigan sweater (both killer finds from Ross Dress For Less). This OOTD was perfect for my work from home day, then a visit to my family to celebrate my niece’s birthday. Having a birthday during this coronavirus isn’t ideal, but we had a great pancake brunch at home to celebrate her day complete with some Avon sheet masks and fun drinks!
I hope everyone is staying happy and healthy! If you need a little pick me up I highly reccomend this tee and some sheet masks. Both you can use during the shelter in place time, and after! There’s a ton of new arrivals over at the eBoutique so be sure to check them out!
Ok March, you were a doozie! You came in soft and roared out like a Tiger King! I think we all can agree a new normal for March is going to be tough to carry out through April but we’re going to try. Here’s to spring revival for April!
