Wear and Share Wednesday: Stripes

Well, this shelter in place/work from home lifestyle doesn’t really mix with my business casual wardrobe. However, it does allow me to reintroduce myself to my jeans and tees. I picked up a few new casual pieces from Avon that will mix and match with my wardrobe, including this striped tee from Avon.

The Avon 3/4th Sleeve Lace Front Top is only $29.99 and comes in 4 colors.  I went with the black and white stripe.  I love that this has a relaxed fit, 3/4th sleeve and some lace front detailing to give it a little something.  This top looks good with jeans and cardi but also with leggings and top knot!  PERFECT for shelter in place/wfh.

I paired this with my white jeans and a red cardigan sweater (both killer finds from Ross Dress For Less).  This OOTD was perfect for my work from home day, then a visit to my family to celebrate my niece’s birthday.  Having a birthday during this coronavirus isn’t ideal, but we had a great pancake brunch at home to celebrate her day complete with some Avon sheet masks and fun drinks!

I hope everyone is staying happy and healthy!  If you need a little pick me up I highly reccomend this tee and some sheet masks.  Both you can use during the shelter in place time, and after!  There’s a ton of new arrivals over at the eBoutique so be sure to check them out!

On Wednesday’s We Wear and Share

On Wednesday's We Wear and Share

On Wednesday’s We Wear and Share

On Wednesday’s we wear pink… or blush and burgundy because I’m not a huge fan of pink.  Please don’t revoke my girl card, haha.  I mean I like pink nail polish, pink lips, pink eye makeup but in fashion, decor or anything else, not my jam.  However I can get behind blush and burgundy, a more sophisticated take on pink.  With Valentine’s Day coming up I’ve been theme’ing out my life, making the winter more loveable.

Blush + Burgundy

Blush + Burgundy

Let’s be real, it’s still winter and it’s still cold, so romantic dresses might seem like a good idea but they’re not practical.  A blush sweater and ponte pants (WHBM) are extremely practical and absolutely work toward the Valentine’s Day theme.  This blush sweater has an adorable bow back which I didn’t capture but take my word for it, the added details are romantic.  This sweater is old but you can find a cozy blush sweater with romantic details to recreate the look.

Burgundy Pumps Add The Extra Punch

Pairing burgundy with blush is a little unexpected but totally a winter winner pairing.  Just a pop of a burgundy suede pump and matte burgundy lip really pulls this look together.  #lipoftheday is the Avon True Color Perfectly Matte Lipstick in Wild Cherry.  This matte lipstick is one of my favorites because its not drying!  I can’t have anything drying in these dry cold winter months, so if I want a matte lip this is the way I go.

Like I said I’ve been Valentine’s Day-ing my life which included pulling out jewelry peices that I think fit in, like my rose gold options.  I picked up some new Valentine’s Day jewelry, had some adorable old pieces (like these heart hoops) and some other pieces that really just fit well in the theme.  To get some good use out of them, I put them out on a display jewelry stand so I can grab and go when getting ready in the mornings.  This rose gold set from 2019 holiday at Avon has been in heavy rotation.  As an alternative check out these rose gold and jet black options!

Rose Gold Baubles

Wearing pink makeup has always been a favorite.  Maybe its the pink undertones in my skin but pinks are always flatteirng on me.  The Avon Send Roses Eye Palette really is my everything these days.  I did a monochromatic pink eye look and used the deep purple shade as my eyeliner.  I’m horrible at capturing the details but IRL it’s super pretty and dramatic but wearable!

No full look is finaly with out the finishing touches of fragrance.  For February this is my duo, Rose body cream from Bath and Body works with Avon Velvet.  I like having the travel size to throw in my bag and apply later if I’m running late or forget to put on perfume.  I mean there’s a reason why I made that New Year’s smell good resolution (see what I mean here).  Velvet is a fragrance that grew on me, now its one of my favorites and COMPLETELY out of my normal fragrance picks.  It also is the most long lasting scent I have, and even more so when I pair it with the dry oil right out of the shower.

I hope you’re feeling the love this February!  Try themeing out your days with all things romantic, roses, blush and burgundy!

The Fall Layering Trend: Necklace Edition

The Fall Layering Trend: Necklace Edition

The Fall Layering Trend: Necklace Edition

We all know that fall is the perfect time for layering… cool mornings, warm afternoons, and all. But what about layering your jewelry!? Layered necklaces is a huge trend this fall so Heather from Hopelessly Heather and I have brought you our tips and tricks on nailing this layered look this fall.

Alicia’s Tips and Tricks:

Layering Coin Necklaces

Layering Coin Necklaces

Move over big statement necklaces because layered necklaces are the trend!  You can still get maximum impact with a more casual vibe.  Take a trendy necklace, like these coin necklaces in different metal tones, and pendant details, and layer them together.  I really like these Avon Sacred Coin Necklaces because they have adjustable chains so you really can get whatever length you want out of them.  A nice rule of thumb when layering is go with 3.  Don’t be super perfect on the layers, go for 2 that are closer together and one longer.  Coin jewelry is really hot right now so its just the right trend to layer with.

Layering Necklaces Tips from Heather

Layering doesn’t have to be a mystery—use pre-existing layered necklaces as a base and build around them!  Avon makes it super easy by creating collections containing necklaces of varying lengths and, lately, including layered necklaces—but don’t think you have to stick to pieces within the same collection for them to work well together as layering pieces.  You really only need one common element (e.g., pearls, silver, gold, beads, CZs, etc.) to make layering work.  Not only is it fun and easy to do, it can also breathe new life into your existing pieces!

Wear and Share Wednesday: Touch of Fall

Wear and Share Wednesday: A Touch of Fall

Wear and Share Wednesday: A Touch of Fall

Fact:  It’s still officially summer.  The first day of fall isn’t until Monday, and it’s still going to be 90 degrees this weekend so even if I want to embrace fall early, it’s really only a touch of fall.  I think I’m so tired of the same sundresses I’ve been wearing all summer so I’m ready for a wardrobe refresh, even if its just a touch.  I have done some great back to school shopping and picked up a bunch of fall 2019 trends, but I can’t quite wear them all yet, so I need to add in a touch of fall where I can.

A touch of fall with camel accessories!

A touch of fall with camel accessories!

I achieved a touch of fall with camel accessories!  This fall color is not only classic but neutral and really anchors my LWD.   I’ve known I wanted a camel tote as my fall bag since the spring but I haven’t been able to find one until last week!  I scored this clearance find at TJ Maxx and it was EXACTLY what I was looking for.

New fall bag of my dreams!

New fall bag of my dreams!

Lucky for me my camel and tortoise double ring belt from Express came in right at the same time and nothing is better than matching your belt to your bag.  This white dress is from my Express Style Trial box and belting it gave it just the touch of fall I was craving.  Plus this LWD is really well made, lined and the perfect quality for transitioning from summer to fall.

LWD gets the fall treatment!

LWD gets the fall treatment!

You know what also arrived at the same time as my belt and new bag purchase… my Avon order!  Which included this beautiful camel faux leather strap watch and this leaf bracelet that look amazing stacked together.  I had this bag/watch combo going in my dreams since I saw this watch in person at our conference 6 weeks ago!  These two are launching soon but as a rep I get them a few weeks early.

Obsessories!

Obsessories!

I’ve been obsessed with these white slides from Shoedazzle.  They actually have a camel sole so they work perfectly for this late summer look.  As we head more into fall and it drops down to the 70s 😉 I can switch out these slides for these snakeskin booties and I have an even deeper fall look. You can already see how I’m working in these booties and that animal print trend for late summer in my last post (see here).

Obsession + Accessories = Obsessories

Wear and Share Wednesday has a lot of new fall pieces I’m loving!  Pieces that are functional for the weather, and fashionable for the fall.  What are you wearing these last few days of summer!?

Week O’Nautical – Amazon Green

Week O'Nautical - Amazon Green

Week O’Nautical – Amazon Green

The disadvantage of having your birthday in late August is you kinda get in that birthday mode and kinda forget what’s actually going on.  Like the long Labor Day weekend is days away and I have a TON to get done before break.  The advantage of having your birthday in late August is you get a ton of new goodies, birthday coupons to use with Labor Day Sales and some extra summer glow to get you through.  With that said, don’t hate on me because this look is barely nautical, and barely fits the red white and blue theme I try to stick to.  The feature here is this Amazon Green dress which is an unexpected color that looks GREAT with your red white and blues for your nautical looks.  (and its a new dress, so deal)

Green dress from Amazon

Green dress from Amazon

Not only is my dress Amazon Green its also from AMAZON!  Let me you tell you something, I’ve been on the Amazon fashion train before those influencers were on the train.  I’ve been buying key pieces for years.  They really are my secret for swimsuits!  Usually you can get some pretty good prices so order a couple different sizes in all the styles you like, try them on at home, and send back what doesn’t work.  I do have to say though ever since Amazon Fashion became its own Instagram account and building influencers it really has become endless with options.  The biggest trick to shopping Amazon Fashion, reviews are where its at.

Avon Sacred Coin Necklace

Avon Sacred Coin Necklace

I’m wearing the Longwu Women’s Elegant Short Sleeve Wear to Work Casual Pencil Dress with Belt in a 4/6 in the shade malachite green.  The real deal on this is that its a t-shirt like material with lots of stretch and more on the teal/amazon green coloring.  It’s a little tight on my problem areas but pretty much everything is, but its still really flattering and fits true to size.  The style features a boat neck and pockets!  I’m a fan.

Pop of color to mix in with your classic nautical prints

Pop of color to mix in with your classic nautical prints

For late summer styling I paired it with white flat slides from Shoedazzle, my new favorite necklace, the Avon Sacred Coin Adjustable Necklace in Moon and a favorite bangle set from last summer.  As I said this color goes great with your nautical prints, like in my navy and cream striped bag.  This is easily transitioned into fall with some booties and a denim jacket or a navy blazer to dress it up.

A Little Inspo from Emily Gemma

A Little Inspo from Emily Gemma

If you follow Emily Gemma of the Sweetest Thing Blog then you know she loves a good hat, ESPECIALLY a good Fiddler Baker Boy cap!  It was her post (see here) that had me smitten with this red and white striped hat last year.  I should of copy cat-ted her look there when Memorial Week O’Nautical was cold and rainy, but of course I thought about that after the fact.  So I decided in my head I’ll recreate this look for the 4th but now the summer heat is here and there’s no way I’m wearing jeans, but a denim button front dress I can do!  So I took her flow with the white tee and jeans and put my word on it with this Express Button Front Denim Mini Dress (now marked down to clearance!)

I love a little white dress (as seen here, here and here) and this one was a welcome addition to the LWD family.  The square neck and button front details are super on trend.  The denim material is a little easier to wear too not getting as dirty as quickly.  And white always feel perfect for summer and for Week O’Nautical.

We’ll be heading out to watch some fireworks tonight so I’ll easily switch into some slides and be good to go for a festive casual night out!  Do you have any early 4th festivities this year?  Or you saving it all for the long weekend!?

Wearing A Summer Jumpsuit For Work

It’s wear and share Wednesday and I’m wearing my newest favorite summer jumpsuit… to work!  Wearing a summer jumpsuit for work doesn’t really sound appropriate or professional.  However, it totally can be!

Avon Ella Jumpsuit

Avon Ella Jumpsuit

Let’s start with the jumpsuit… this pretty blue number is the Avon Ella Jumpsuit ($39.99).  It features a sleeveless design with a keyhole neckline and a wide cropped leg with elastic waist.  And it has pockets, anything with pockets in instantly better.  This is the same material of the palm print one I loved from last year (see here) but what makes this one more work appropriate is its simple clean design in a solid color.

For work I layered it with a sleeveless suiting vest in black.  The quality fabric keeps this looking professional while the sleeveless design keeps it functional for hot summer weather.  I anchored this look in black to add a layer of sophistication.  My black strappy sandal works with the shorter hem length over say a chunky shoe, and of course my black Movato watch always looks clean.  I also kept my jewelry simple and clean with these Julia pear shaped earrings and a single bangle.

Styling a summer jumpsuit for work

This look really works for work and play.  Head to happy hour and loose the vest for a warm summer nights look.  I really love a bright blue paired with black but this would also look fresh with a clean white.  If your office is chilly then pair a regular blazer over this for a wear to work look.  It has a lot of flexibility in your working girl wardrobe.

You can shop this blue jumpsuit as my eBoutique as I know its going to be a summer must-have and only $39.99!  This is a summer trend you can get a lot of milage out of from work to weekend.  It looks just as cute with your favorite slide and straw bag for a summer road-trip or beach vaca!  For a little extra inspo see how some celebs are wearing the trend!

Wear and Share Wednesday: Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is May 12th incase you were wondering. If you still need some ideas Wear and Share Wednesday has got you! Heather from Hopelessy Heather is back and ready to share with you a look at the Limted Edition Iconic Avon Collection.  I let you in on the 1967 inspiration on this Limited Collection but there’s more to the Mother’s Day Shop.

Alicia’s Picks:

Word Yo!

Word Yo!

Mother’s Day is all about appreciating the beauty in MOM.  (and I’m going to use all caps there because my Mom always writes it out that way, as that’s now she was taught — I think during her shorthand days — google shorthand if you don’t know that that is).  I always like beauty gifts for these kind of gift giving opportunities.  They are personal, as you’re picking out something you think she would like, flatter her.  They’re extremely useable and something Mom doesn’t really treat herself to all the time.

Limited Edition Beauty for Mother's Day

Limited Edition Beauty for Mother’s Day

The Mother’s Day beauty selections are really wearable, practical and pretty.  The packaging is extremely giftable, you could just tie them up in a bow and give!  The actual item’s design are really pretty too, and they all mix and match to create a perfect little bundle/gift set.

Wearing The Iconic Avon Blooming Blush Palette

I selected my top picks here and look how pretty they all are bundled together.  The Iconic Avon Blooming Blush Palette is the star of the show.  Substantial in size, weight, and product amount is worth far more then the $9.99 its going for.  The formula is spot on as well.  VERY wearable shades and who doesn’t want a healthy flush!?  Here I’m wearing the pink shade and you can see how healthy it looks! (also wearing the peachy/coral shade in this post)

Bundled along side are a few lip products, the Iconic Avon Lipstick in Natural Shimmer, the Mom’s The Balm Lip Balm in Melon and the Iconic Avon Blooms & Kisses Lip Gloss.  These three all stand on their own or paired together.  The Iconic Avon Lipsticks are in those classic metal lipstick tubes that are so fancy and feel so luxe.  In these pics I’m wearing the Blooms & Kisses Gloss in Lively Violet and let me tell you how pigmented and long lasting this little guy is… and at $4.99!  Also shown, the Iconic Avon Pearly Earrings (see Heather’s picks below for more details!)

“On Mother’s Day we show the mother figures in our lives how much we love and appreciate them – and Avon has released the perfect vintage inspired jewelry line that includes a heart brooch, pearly earrings, a dangling charms bracelet, a pearly ring and a pendant watch necklace.  All the above are absolutely stunning in traditional gold settings and would make killer gifts for your wife, mom, grandma, sister, aunt or other mom you want to celebrate. Make it twice as nice by getting your favorite ladies matching pieces and present them at the same time.

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the brooch, earrings and watch necklace.  The brooch is hefty and features gorgeous scroll work with some sparkly bits sprinkled on top.  Brooches make great additions to hats, coats, scarves, tops and even as hair decorations.  The earrings show off two beautiful pearls in a leafy bed of gold that simply delights.  The watch necklace features an incredibly long chain and a sturdy watch pendant – the chain could be wound around a wrist instead of worn around a neck or the pendant could be removed from the chain altogether to attach a clip assembly and tack it to a handbag, keychain or tons of other places!” – Heather

Heather styled these vintage inspired pieces perfectly with her vintage inspired look.  Excuse me while I go grab a scarf to look as adorable as she does in her neck scarf.  Classic pieces make excellent giftables… even as a gift for yourself!

A Spring Dress That’s Actually Functional For Spring

A Spring Dress That's Actually Functional For Spring

A Spring Dress That’s Actually Functional For Spring

Wear and Share Wednesday is all about the spring dresses! With Easter this Sunday, and numerous Spring events, I always find myself needing a new spring dress. The thing with Spring is it can still be pretty chilly, especially in the morning, you know, like when Easter service is and brunch! So not only do we need a new spring dress, we need a functional way to wear it.

Layering A Pretty Spring Dress

Layering A Pretty Spring Dress

This is why I love a long sleeve dress!  It gives you JUST enough to keep you warm in that spring breeze.  Layer it with a longer spring jacket like a trench and you can combat those overcast days.

mark. Floral Femme Printed Dress

I’m loving this long sleeve dress from mark., the Floral Femme Printed Dress.  Its a lightweight almost gauzy material so as the sun does warm up the afternoon you can push up the banded sleeves and bask in the warmth. Flowing, free-spirited and feminine, it’s the perfect peasant for springtime.  Plus the pretty pastel mint base with a print in living coral, navy and white make this an excellent on trend design.

Mixing Prints

Mixing Prints

For spring events layer this dress with a navy and white trench, (Expresss; old).  We are pulling that navy out of the print on the dress and pattern mixing with the nautical stripes.  Work your topper to match your dress for an even more polished look especially for things like Easter, baby showers, wedding showers, etc.  To keep the chill off even more I wore closed toe mules in white, (Express; old) and a spring scarf (Avon; old).

Pretty Prints and Pretty Baubles

Pretty Prints and Pretty Baubles

I styled this dress with a mint statement necklace and pearly accented bangles (Avon; old).  This allows me to dress up a boho dress for my Spring events.  Shimmery peach makeup finishes off the look in an appropriate, but also fun, way.

Wear and Share Wednesday has moves like Jagger… or at least that’s how I feel, a little like Mick Jagger in this OOTD.

Bell Sleeves and Striped Pants

Bell Sleeves and Striped Pants

My Mick Jagger Vibe really comes from these Hudson striped skinny jeans being paired with a very boho blouse from mark.  The mark. Tassel Without Hassle Tunic is described as “Unleash your desert spirit and let it roam for miles with flowy fits and boho-inspired silhouettes. Break free with the totally-airy tunic that takes you away on a spontaneous adventure.”  If that doesn’t embody the spirit of the 60’s… and 60’s Mick Jagger… than I don’t know what does.

My vibe isn’t so much boho or free spirit but I appreciate it so I took it in my own direction with pairing it with striped pants and silver and turquoise jewelry.  The mark. Third Layer’s A Charm Necklace is a real show stopper, take my word for it, but it also has that layered jewelry look all in one piece.  Mick Jagger vibes all in one necklace.
