Week O’Nautical Kickoff – 4th Of July Countdown!

Week O'Nautical Kickoff Outfit

Week O’Nautical Kickoff Outfit

Once again I’m kicking off another Week O’Nautical!  My own celebratory way to wear red white and blue all week leading up to our patriotic holidays!  Seems fitting for being July 1st, officially half-way through 2013 and it’s also a Monday so back to the grind.  Even though it’s a short week counting down to the 4th I still need to be productive.  I had a chaotic weekend moving so I needed to get focused this morning and the best way to start that, is with a clean, simple and classic look inspired by the american beauty look in mark.’s summer magalog (launching the 11th — see the inspiration below).

I started with a simple navy dress (that I picked up years ago at Old Navy!) then added some simple summer accessories, mark.’s Tote the Town Bag ($45 at and Tall Order Sandals (NOW ONLY 19.99 at  THIS.  BAG.  Let me tell you, it’s the perfect working girl summer bag.  It is PERFECT going back and forth from work with its side pockets and front flap and large enough to fit everything.  It also doubles as an overnight bag and triples as an awesome carry on perfect for long 4th of July weekend trips.  It will look equally chic at work to the beach to the nights out!  Think how pretty this would be paired with a white cotton sundress and capri sandals to a linen suit and heels!

I really wanted to show off my back-from-my-tropical-vacation tan with my nail color picks, an opaque nude for fingers and an opaque white for toes, my twist on the classic french.  And really showcased with these Tall Order Sandals.  The heels really look great against tanned skin (or during my whiter days seen here haha.)  These heels are SO COMFY so be sure to catch them on mega sale for a limited time only at

Like I said, the inspiration behind this look is from the mark. summer magalogs (comment if you want to get on the mailing list!)  Two looks mark. created were this retro American Beauty Look and the Ombre Lips Look:

Ok… ok… I admit I really hated this ombre lip trend.  I mean really, its not ombre it’s just lip liner in a different color.  HOWEVER I’m eating my words.  Today mark. girl challenged us to try it, so I did, and I liked it!  I used the same colors used here Make It Rich in Royal for the liner and LipClick in ChaCha for the lips.  All I did was line my lips with Royal only I did it a little thicker than I would with a regular lip liner pencil.  In the magalog it’s a bit sever, in real life it actually blends really well it just gives dimension to your lips.

Can you believe the ONLY jewelry I’m wearing today are these Keep Me Dangling Earrings ($18)!?!  When I went simple, I went real simple.  It was just enough to tie in some red to not only match my lips but my Week O’Nautical Theme, red white and blue!  You can shop these earrings, Make It Rich Lip Crayons and Lipclicks at

For the rest of my beauty I just copied the black winged liner with Get In Line in Painted Black and black mascara with Lash Act in Blackest Black.  I just added a bit of bronzer for definition with Bronze Pro all available at  To top it all off I used the feather pin from the Hold It Right There Pin Set ($12 at my eboutique) to keep things neat by keeping the bangs out of my face.

There’s my total look from head to toe for the first Week O’Nautical look for the week as we count down to the 4th of July!  It may not necessarily be super nautical but it’s only day one and definitely is red white and blue and American beauty inspired!  Be sure to check back all week for all my looks and a special Week O’Nautical edition of Wear and Share Wednesday with Jackie from Living After Midnight!  (who might also be doing the ombre lips today on Living After Midnight!)

Week O’Nautical Kickoff!

The long weekend is in sight… and you know what that means, WEEK O’NAUTICAL!  For my summer holidays I celebrate Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor day by wearing red white and blue inspired all week long, which basically just turns into nautical inspired looks.

Since I was not able to capture this week’s looks I’m kicking off week o’nautical with a recap of past nautical looks.  Check out my Week O’Nautical category posts:

In addition, here’s some nautical friendly pieces I’ve been loving.  Definitely have put this mark. White On Time Blazer ($48) in heavy rotation this spring, particularly over a navy t-shirt dress.  My favorite t-shirt dresses (including this one) came from H&M.  I can see this blazer looking equally as chic over some sailor shorts and tank, a nautical striped maxi, or with some trouser jeans!

My go-to accessories have been the mark. Dramatic Effect Stretch Bracelet (shown) paired with the Deco Drama Studs and Stones and Cones Necklace ($22).  You can get the White On Time Blazer and Stones and Cones necklace currently at my eboutique: for the bracelet and earrings they’re currently unavailable but I might be able to hook you up 😉

The other piece currently unavailable are the Blues Cruise pants but I bought them specifically for Week O’Nautical!  So check out the looks below and be inspired to wear your red, white and blue… and stay tuned for an exclusive sneak peek and maybe even a week o’nautical special!!!

Nailed It – Instant Vacation Marrakesh

I already  introduced you to the limited edition Marrakesh beauty collection but I left out one major beauty component, the nail polish!!!  Of course this is my favorite, the Nailed It Trend Marrakesh Mini Nail Lacquers.  With nails being the hottest trend around, these gorgeous shades of Marrakesh take yours to an exotic new place! Saffron, a glistening warm gold, will add spice to your look while mint tea, a lush, shimmering green, warms up any ensemble.

What I love the most about this duo set is they are mini’s, only 0.09 fl. oz. each so for a small price ($7) you get just enough to last you a season then on to the next trend.  I HATE wasting polish and this is the perfect amount.  AND in coordinating shades your mani pedi setup is already figured out or do what I did and wear the coordinating shades together.  I wore the gold shade on my thumb, pointer and pinky then the green shade on my ring and middle then freehanded a stripe of gold on top of the green.  The mini brush make it super easy.

How awesome does the Stack and Style Ring ($18) look with this polish!?!  I love how expertly coordinated the Marrakesh collection is!  You can shop the ring, polish and the rest of the Marrakesh collection at my eBoutique:

Week O’ Nautical

Countdown to summer is on!   Memorial Day Weekend!  It’s the unofficial summer kickoff in my book and it’s an extra day off work so, winning!  (is winning still cool to say?  i totally love it… sup c.sheen!)  Let’s be honest, I’m not a real adult.  I find any excuse to think and act like a kid including getting massively excited for any and all holidays.  Memorial day to me is a reason to celebrate our country’s service men in true U.S.A. form by being as Americana as possible.  Translate to licia language… Week O’Nautical!  I make a point to wear my favorite fashion trend all week, nautical inspired looks!  I do this with all my summer holidays… Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day.  It’s kind of like how in December I try to wear red all month long… like I said I’m not a real adult.

Every year when I do this I realize the same thing, I LOVE anything navy and I don’t own NEARLY enough of it.  I LOVE anything and everything nautical.  Which means sine I don’t really own a lot of my favorite navy and nautical pieces I save the most themed out pieces for the end of the week.  So were going to start this off with my Monday Week O’Nautical outfit of the day!

Week O'Nautical Monday Look

Week O’Nautical Monday Look

I’m wearing my navy and white sheath dress that has as pleated chiffon top.  The dress is from H&M a few years back but I have seen similar pieces as of late.  But you could re-create this look with a navy pencil skirt and a dressy white tank.  The rest of the look is all in the details… my accessories!  I’ve been LOVING my mark. Rock Of Ages necklace in peach and it looks really sharp with navy.  Now I wouldn’t necessarily call it a nautical look, but more beachy.  The necklace has this awesome faceted cut so it really pulls so many colors when the sun hits it and looks like something straight from the ocean.  Pair it with some gold jewelry and it becomes nautical!  For my gold accents I’m also wearing a wrap bracelet from Express, the mark. Borrowed From The Boys Watch and the mark. Cross Your Fingers Ring.  All topped off with my mark. Catch Of The Day straw clutch.  I love how the gold of the watch matches the awesome bold turnlock of the clutch… its the little things in life.  This look has that summer fun vibe but completely office appropriate esp for a Monday.

mark. Bronzy Beauty Look

mark. Bronzy Beauty Look

It’s a little hard to see in my photo, but for my beauty I went for a bronzy gold look, all with mark. products.  For my eyes I used i-mark metallics in sugar sugar and goldi luxe. I also accented my crease with shade 2 of On The Dot Neutral.  Followed with Get In Line Liquid Eyeliner in Painted Black and Lash All You Want Volume Mascara.

I used Touch and Glow Shimmer Cubes as my blush and with Get Bright Hookup Highlighter.  I used Bronze Pro for contouring and Powder Buff as my foundation.  With just a touch of gloss on my lips in Blow Kisses.

You can get all the beauty items I used as well as the Rock Of Ages Necklace, Borrowed From the Boys Watch, Cross Your Fingers Ring and Catch Of The Day clutch all at my eBoutique:

Stay tuned all week for more outfits of the day for Week O’Nautical.  And yes I know its Tuesday and I’m posting Monday’s… I’ll try to be more on top of it as the week progresses!

Get The Look

Get The Look: Hampton’s Color Collection.  You can recreate my makeup look with some of our NEW color collection and some old favorites!!!

First I bronzed up my skin with our gradual tanners for both face and body, It’s A Glow (12) Glow It All ($14).

For Face I used Conceal For Real Hookup ($6) to cover even out and cover up flaws. Followed by Bronze Pro ($12) lightly all over with emphasis on my cheeks for contouring.

For Eyes I used the the new Keep It Going shade Naturalist $11 (Brown and Teal). I lined half my eye with the teal shade using the Flat Eyeliner Brush ($7). Followed by lining the outer half with the brown shade with wining it out and blended into the crease. I topped it off with liquid black liner, Get In Line Waterproof Liquid Liner in Painted Black ($6.50) and finishing it off with Lash All You Want in Black ($11). This gave a pop of color on the eye coordinating with the pop’s of color in my outfit, but mild enough for day wear.

For Lips I used Gloss On Lip Gloss in Sunset Beach ($10).

Fragrance I used the new Instant Vacation Fragrance Hamptons in both the shimmering body lotion ($10) and fragrance ($20) for extra staying power and just a little gleam with the shimmer lotion. This is not your typical glitter lotion, just a very pretty adult shimmer.
