Once again I’m kicking off another Week O’Nautical!  My own celebratory way to wear red white and blue all week leading up to our patriotic holidays!  Seems fitting for being July 1st, officially half-way through 2013 and it’s also a Monday so back to the grind.  Even though it’s a short week counting down to the 4th I still need to be productive.  I had a chaotic weekend moving so I needed to get focused this morning and the best way to start that, is with a clean, simple and classic look inspired by the american beauty look in mark.’s summer magalog (launching the 11th — see the inspiration below).

I started with a simple navy dress (that I picked up years ago at Old Navy!) then added some simple summer accessories, mark.’s Tote the Town Bag ($45 at http://ahessinger.mymarkstore.com) and Tall Order Sandals (NOW ONLY 19.99 at http://ahessinger.mymarkstore.com).  THIS.  BAG.  Let me tell you, it’s the perfect working girl summer bag.  It is PERFECT going back and forth from work with its side pockets and front flap and large enough to fit everything.  It also doubles as an overnight bag and triples as an awesome carry on perfect for long 4th of July weekend trips.  It will look equally chic at work to the beach to the nights out!  Think how pretty this would be paired with a white cotton sundress and capri sandals to a linen suit and heels!

I really wanted to show off my back-from-my-tropical-vacation tan with my nail color picks, an opaque nude for fingers and an opaque white for toes, my twist on the classic french.  And really showcased with these Tall Order Sandals.  The heels really look great against tanned skin (or during my whiter days seen here haha.)  These heels are SO COMFY so be sure to catch them on mega sale for a limited time only at http://ahessinger.mymarkstore.com

Like I said, the inspiration behind this look is from the mark. summer magalogs (comment if you want to get on the mailing list!)  Two looks mark. created were this retro American Beauty Look and the Ombre Lips Look:

Ok… ok… I admit I really hated this ombre lip trend.  I mean really, its not ombre it’s just lip liner in a different color.  HOWEVER I’m eating my words.  Today mark. girl challenged us to try it, so I did, and I liked it!  I used the same colors used here Make It Rich in Royal for the liner and LipClick in ChaCha for the lips.  All I did was line my lips with Royal only I did it a little thicker than I would with a regular lip liner pencil.  In the magalog it’s a bit sever, in real life it actually blends really well it just gives dimension to your lips.

Can you believe the ONLY jewelry I’m wearing today are these Keep Me Dangling Earrings ($18)!?!  When I went simple, I went real simple.  It was just enough to tie in some red to not only match my lips but my Week O’Nautical Theme, red white and blue!  You can shop these earrings, Make It Rich Lip Crayons and Lipclicks at http://ahessinger.mymarkstore.com

For the rest of my beauty I just copied the black winged liner with Get In Line in Painted Black and black mascara with Lash Act in Blackest Black.  I just added a bit of bronzer for definition with Bronze Pro all available at http://ahessinger.mymarstore.com  To top it all off I used the feather pin from the Hold It Right There Pin Set ($12 at my eboutique) to keep things neat by keeping the bangs out of my face.

There’s my total look from head to toe for the first Week O’Nautical look for the week as we count down to the 4th of July!  It may not necessarily be super nautical but it’s only day one and definitely is red white and blue and American beauty inspired!  Be sure to check back all week for all my looks and a special Week O’Nautical edition of Wear and Share Wednesday with Jackie from Living After Midnight!  (who might also be doing the ombre lips today on Living After Midnight!)

Does the Tote the Town bag zip shut? I’m thinking of buying it for traveling.

Yes it does! I took it as my carry on to Hawaii and I had that thing stuffed and I could still zip it! Def a great travel bag.
