Week O’ Nautical

on

Countdown to summer is on!   Memorial Day Weekend!  It’s the unofficial summer kickoff in my book and it’s an extra day off work so, winning!  (is winning still cool to say?  i totally love it… sup c.sheen!)  Let’s be honest, I’m not a real adult.  I find any excuse to think and act like a kid including getting massively excited for any and all holidays.  Memorial day to me is a reason to celebrate our country’s service men in true U.S.A. form by being as Americana as possible.  Translate to licia language… Week O’Nautical!  I make a point to wear my favorite fashion trend all week, nautical inspired looks!  I do this with all my summer holidays… Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day.  It’s kind of like how in December I try to wear red all month long… like I said I’m not a real adult.

Every year when I do this I realize the same thing, I LOVE anything navy and I don’t own NEARLY enough of it.  I LOVE anything and everything nautical.  Which means sine I don’t really own a lot of my favorite navy and nautical pieces I save the most themed out pieces for the end of the week.  So were going to start this off with my Monday Week O’Nautical outfit of the day!

I’m wearing my navy and white sheath dress that has as pleated chiffon top.  The dress is from H&M a few years back but I have seen similar pieces as of late.  But you could re-create this look with a navy pencil skirt and a dressy white tank.  The rest of the look is all in the details… my accessories!  I’ve been LOVING my mark. Rock Of Ages necklace in peach and it looks really sharp with navy.  Now I wouldn’t necessarily call it a nautical look, but more beachy.  The necklace has this awesome faceted cut so it really pulls so many colors when the sun hits it and looks like something straight from the ocean.  Pair it with some gold jewelry and it becomes nautical!  For my gold accents I’m also wearing a wrap bracelet from Express, the mark. Borrowed From The Boys Watch and the mark. Cross Your Fingers Ring.  All topped off with my mark. Catch Of The Day straw clutch.  I love how the gold of the watch matches the awesome bold turnlock of the clutch… its the little things in life.  This look has that summer fun vibe but completely office appropriate esp for a Monday.

It’s a little hard to see in my photo, but for my beauty I went for a bronzy gold look, all with mark. products.  For my eyes I used i-mark metallics in sugar sugar and goldi luxe. I also accented my crease with shade 2 of On The Dot Neutral.  Followed with Get In Line Liquid Eyeliner in Painted Black and Lash All You Want Volume Mascara.

I used Touch and Glow Shimmer Cubes as my blush and with Get Bright Hookup Highlighter.  I used Bronze Pro for contouring and Powder Buff as my foundation.  With just a touch of gloss on my lips in Blow Kisses.

You can get all the beauty items I used as well as the Rock Of Ages Necklace, Borrowed From the Boys Watch, Cross Your Fingers Ring and Catch Of The Day clutch all at my eBoutique:  http://ahessinger.mymarkstore.com

Stay tuned all week for more outfits of the day for Week O’Nautical.  And yes I know its Tuesday and I’m posting Monday’s… I’ll try to be more on top of it as the week progresses!
