Week O’Nautical sails on! (pun intended haha) Little note of fun, as I started to write this Fresh Prince & DJ Jazzy Jeff’s Summertime, the ultimate summer anthem, just started playing on my iTunes. Coincidence? I think not… its fate! And if you know me you know my obsession for Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. I can relate pretty much anything in life to a Fresh Prince episode! Aaaaanyways…. here’s Tuesday’s fresh ensemble:

This is not your typical Nautical look but what’s more sea-worthy than some sea green? It’s no secret for my mint obsession this spring and these are few of the pieces I actually have to play out that obsession with. I’m wearing a mint green t-shirt with a black and white stripped bandage skirt, super easy! The t-shirt I got for $5 at Target, (this one) and my skirt is from Express awhile ago. But stripped bandage skirts are a dime a dozen so easily re-created. I love my Express one for the unexpected back detailing with the line down the back. I’m also glad I got it a size larger so its not skin tight. I highly recommend adding a black and white stripped skirt to your wardrobe. I’ve worn mine to death with everything from a t-shirt, to a blazer, to a button down dress shirt to a sequin tank for my Christmas party last year.
For my hair decided to try out some beach waves. This style I wore a lot in the early 2000’s when I lived in PA and the humidity was ridiculous and NO WAY was I going to blow dry. Plus the humidity brought out the waves. Now in super dry Nor Cal there’s no waves in that hair, BUT mark. launched a NEW haircare line and the Curl Commander Curl and Wave Defining Gel help me achieve effortless beach waves! All I did was use a decent amount on towel dried hair and scrunched. I used a little hairspray on my bangs and DONE! I was really shocked how this gel created some texture in my naturally straight hair AND was soft not crunchy at all! I’m looking forward to playing more with this look and with addition of Curl to Curl Reactivate and Define Mist. More hair posts to come!
For the rest of my look I have on some minty fresh baubles from the Banana Republic outlet and mark. My Borrowed From the Boys watch is a staple. The ring and earrings are also from mark. which have been in and out of sale!
My makeup look of course is all mark. too! My mark. of the moment product is the Keep It Going Longwear Shadow and Liner in Naturalist. It’s a gel formula in a teal and brown duo. I’ve been sporting by lining half my lid with the teal shade followed by the outer half in the brown with an eyeliner brush. I then drag the brown shade up into my crease to create definition. Its WAY easier than it sounds and creates interest with the pop of color perfect for spring and summer. On my lips is another of my mark. must haves, Lip Click Color Shine in Cupid. This is not your typical lipstick! It wears like a balm with some shine and SPF 15! Added bonus the cap is magnetic so you don’t loose it in your bag o’makeup so no ruined lipstick! Love this flattering pink shade in Cupid.
So what’s the verdict on day 2? Nautical enough? What’s your favorite nautical looks?
I love the outfits you put together with your mark. stuff. You look to have hands about the same size as mine so I wanted to ask what size is your colour cluster ring in this picture? Thanks.
Thank you! It’s super easy when mark. makes such awesome pieces! My color cluster ring is a 6/7 and with the little extender thing inside I can easily wear it on my middle/pointer which are barely 6’s in my regular ring size. I would say closer to 5.5’s. My ring is around a 4.5 depending so there’s no way I can wear it there. But the color cluster ring is so pretty that its worth finding a way to wear it!
