Pour yourself a cup of sweet tea, because I’m about to share with you how to be a modern Southern Bell…. from Nor Cal.  Being a Modern Southern Belle means you take the idea of a Southern Belle and make it your own.  For me, the Southern Belle elements I want to take and apply to my own life/look are classic beauty, bright colors and lady like designs.  I think I hit all of those in this Avon Shelley Cutaway Blouse from the Avon Savana Blooms collection.  This is my pick from the collection and how I’m making it modern.

My own modern take on a Southern Belle is pairing a beautiful colorful floral blouse with a pair of dark green ankle pants and lace up pumps!  For me wear to work dress pant is still lady like in styling but grounds the bold florals.  The deep green color and ankle cut styling makes it modern.  (pants, Old Navy; pumps, Nine West Outlet).  The lace up details and suede finish on my pumps take an otherwise classic pump to the next level.
