The Royal Wedding is coming up next weekend, and regardless if you’re a royal watcher or not, can’t argue that Meghan has style. Because I’ll take any reason to theme out my life, I decided this week I’ll pour my best cup of Earl Grey and channel my best London Looks. Meghan’s Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting look had me. I had to copy this look to the best of my ability with what I had in my closet.
Word on Meghan’s Look: Keys to this look are the pinstripe trench dress, black blazer over the shoulders, black strappy pumps, striped cross body bag and delicate jewelry.
What I had in my closet: Mad Men for Banana Republic black and white striped dress, not quite a trench dress but same overall look with a cream base, black stripes and a longer length. I love her blazer with the nautical gold buttons, but I only have 1 black blazer these days, a WHBM blazer with micro dots, still works. For heels I have these old mark. ones with some strappy details and worked in some dainty jewelry pieces from Avon. I think its super cute how she has the black and white striped cross body worn a little higher up, the best I could re-create this is with the mark. Summer Crush Crossbody, which gives it a little more California feel for my everyday.
Immittion is the greatest form of flattery right? Either way, good style isn’t hard, you just have to copy cat it. Find what you like in a picture, on tv, from my blog maybe and just re-create with what you have. Maybe you’ll have to pick up an item or two, but that way you’re building a wardrobe with what you love, which is always ongoing. I’ll be sipping some afternoon tea this week as we get closer to getting some eye candy from the Royal Wedding. Can’t wait to see her dress!
