Makeup Look To Master: Your Everyday Slay

The everyday makeup look is the hardest to perfect in my opinion, which is probably why mine is ever changing.  Not only do you need to find the best flattering shades, you also need to find the best formulas for your skin type and that work with your lifestyle… not to mention techniques and trends!  No one wants to look like they’re doing the same look they did when they first started wearing and experimenting with makeup.

First, determine what your everyday looks like.  What features you want to highlight, what products you like to use. Like for me, I like the look of a heavier eye and I don’t really like to wear foundation, so my look is going to be a more complicated eye look and a simpler face look.  For my lifestyle I need a look that works for my 9-5 that’s business casual, along with some after work and weekend casual actives.  Additionally, most of the year its super hot so I need something that doesn’t melt/sweat off and can handle my large pores.

Now that I’ve determined what my needs are, its time to slay!  I kid, I kid… I don’t slay I just like that it kinda rhymes… Anywho, I start with skincare straight out of the shower, a serum, eye cream and moisturizer.  Right now I’m using the Avon Anew Dual Elixir, the Anew Hydra Fusion Eye Serum and the Anew Ultimate Day Cream with SPF 25.

To battle my large pores and help battle the hot temps my face makeup starts with a primer, Ulta Poreless Face Primer.  Even though I said I don’t like foundation I’ve been wearing the Avon Magix Tinted Moisturizer in Light Medium.  It doesn’t feel like a foundation, or look like one, just blurs my imperfections and evens my skin tone all while looking natural.  Next, I follow up  with concealer under my eyes, on lids and on nose.  I use a fluffy brush and apply bronzer on the top of cheeks and forehead followed by blush on the apples of my cheeks.  Right now I’m using up my mark. Hooked Up Bronzer and been loving the Avon Blush Palette  from the spring.

For eyes, I stick to neutral pinks and taupes that are cool toned for my everyday.  Lately my go-to is a taupe shade in the transition area (from this holiday palette) and the Avon Glimmershadows in Rose Gold all over my lid and underneath.  From that same holiday palette I use a shimmery white to highlight my inner corners and brow bone.  I top it off with a winged eye using the Avon True Color SuperExtend Precise Liquid Liner in Black and Love and First Lash Mascara.  On my lips my everyday is some sort of balm or nourishing lipstick or oil, here I’m wearing some Burts Bee’s Lip Balm.

This is typically my everyday, all I do is tweak this look.  I tweak the eyeshadow colors and the lips most often.  Same eyeliner, same mascara, same blush/bronzer duo.  If I’m feeling really extra I’ll add a contour or highlight or maybe do my brows but for the most part this is it and easily re-createable even if you aren’t a liquid winged eyeliner fan, just swap in your fav black eyeliner (Glimmersticks are really easy to use!)

You can shop most of my go-to products that I used for this look at my eBoutique and today, June 6th, you can get FREE SHIPPING with a $25 order!  Perfect time to pick up some new makeup that are at lower price points.  I’d also suggest getting some Bug Guard as its on sale right now too!
